Bright Futures UK are looking for warm and energetic volunteer tutors to provide educational support in a range of subjects, from Primary to A-Level,  and a fun, safe space for young people living with serious illness.

Deliver online tutoring sessions, supported by our programme team, for just one hour per week flexibly to fit around you!

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Please note that this is a voluntary, unpaid role, based in the UK. We are unfortunately not able to provide support with visa requests. 

Volunteering in the shop

Our Northallerton Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What happens next?

It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Finance Volunteer

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Barnsley and district Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

You will maintain and approve income and expenditure records and explain financial information clearly to other group members. You would ensure our financial requirements and policies are followed, and that money is spent in a cost effective manner.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Each Summer BECA hosts a 3-week, half-day, day-camp for students in elementary grades, to provide students with opportunities to remain immersed in the English language over the long break through fun games and activities – making the transition back to classes in August less difficult and preventing summer learning loss. Each year, we seek out a team of 6-8 Volunteer Summer Camp Counselors to work with approximately 75-100 students across multiple grade levels, with about 15-20 students per classroom. 

In addition to supporting students, Summer Camp Counselors will also: conduct 1-2 home visits per week with the Summer Camp Director, commit to a service project on the school grounds, as well as host team dinners on a weekly basis. 

REQUIRED DUTIES:

• Plan, execute, and document daily activities for students in a collaborative environment

• Make summer camp a fun way for students to maintain/increase their English language ability

• Work collaboratively to plan activities across disciplines including art, reading and writing, and physical education

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• A commitment to BECA’s mission and a dedication to social justice

• Fluency in English

• Experience working with children (preferred, but not required)

• Willingness to operate and be creative in a low-resource environment

• Foundational knowledge of Spanish (not required, but helpful)

Because the Summer Camp is a supplemental program, BECA recoups the program’s expenses through donations paid by Summer Camp Counselors who wish to participate. In exchange for this experience, we ask that you contribute or fundraise $1,500 for the BECA program to help defray costs (food, accommodation, training, materials, and a high-speed internet connection). A reduced contribution may be available for applicants with demonstrated need.

For current college students, please note that volunteers in the past have successfully applied for on-campus grant monies to cover this expense and travel. We encourage you to explore what opportunities your college offers to subsidize summer experiences. Please contact us if you have any questions; we will try to help you in any way possible.

Join Off The Record, an independent charity that has been proudly serving the Havant Borough area since 1977. Our mission is to empower young people and their families in South East Hampshire by supporting their emotional health and well-being. We provide vital one-on-one and family counseling, support, a young carers project and group services for individuals aged 8-25 and their families.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we invite you to volunteer with us at our main office, located at 138 Purbrook Way, Leigh Park. We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to support our counseling service by answering phones, providing information, engaging in friendly conversations, and offering signposting advice to clients awaiting our services and also opportunities to assist with awareness events and our group activities and young carers services.

As a volunteer Club Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our clubs run smoothly while contributing to our positive and inclusive community. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to support community engagement through sports. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Club Administration: 

• Manage registration processes and ensure all participant details are accurately recorded. 

• Maintain attendance records and update membership databases. 

• Assist with scheduling and confirming bookings for club sessions. 

• Onsite Support: 

• Provide administrative and logistical support during club sessions, ensuring smooth operations. 

• Act as the first point of contact for participants, parents, and stakeholders at sessions. 

• Coordinate with coaches to ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available. 

• Customer Engagement: 

• Handle inquiries about programs, schedules, and memberships professionally. 

• Communicate updates, cancellations, or schedule changes to members promptly. 

• Event Coordination: 

• Support the planning and execution of tournaments, showcases, and community events. 

• Help with onsite logistics, including participant check-ins and event materials. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• A willingness to learn and contribute to a positive club environment. 

• Strong organisational and communication skills. 

• Previous experience in administration or customer service is a bonus but not required.

• Relevant Persons' Representative (RPR) Support Volunteer

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteers

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them.  This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve.  Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care. 

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might: 

• Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support
• Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes
• Raise concerns
• Keep detailed notes and records
• Make a real difference to someone’s life 

Volunteering opportunities are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK.
