The Vacancy

The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.

We are looking for individuals all across the Midlands, including but not limitted to: Leicestershire, Northampton, Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes 

The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:

• To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.

These visits will be:

Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.

Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.

Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.

Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.

RSS20 visits to residential special schools.

Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.

Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.

• To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
• To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.

Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.

Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.

This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.

You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.

AFRIL is recruiting for an experienced, dynamic Senior Caseworker to join our growing Casework Team. The successful candidate will provide advice and casework to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in South East London on matters relating to housing and homelessness, welfare benefits, NRPF support, community care and asylum support. About You 

Are you passionate about harnessing green finance to power nature’s recovery? 

We’re looking for an ambitious Green Finance Manager to help shape the future of nature markets in the UK and deliver real impact for people and wildlife. 

In this exciting national role, you’ll use your expertise in green finance and nature markets to influence The Wildlife Trusts’ Green Finance Strategy. You’ll lead research into established and emerging markets—such as biodiversity net gain, voluntary carbon, natural flood management, and other nature recovery enterprises—providing insight that shapes our evolving strategy. 

You’ll coordinate innovative nature market products developed by local Wildlife Trusts, connecting them with buyers seeking high-integrity solutions. Drawing on your commercial background and strong negotiation skills, you’ll develop and deliver national framework agreements, and unlock opportunities for nature-positive investment. 

As a national thought leader, you’ll represent The Wildlife Trusts across conservation, business, and finance sectors—championing green finance and influencing the future of nature markets in the UK.

In this role you’ll help the Action Against Hunger International Network to access, secure and manage institutional funding from UK donors. You won’t be alone; you’ll support the Head of Programme Funding and manage members of the programme funding team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Records Management Officer for an exciting 18-month FTC opportunity, with an interest in record keeping and archiving for an organisation that positively impacts the communities we serve. This new role comes at an exciting time in The Fund’s Records Management journey as the Fund is undertaking a significant record management project, which this role will play a key part in delivering.

In this role you will conduct a process of mass cataloguing and appraisal of The Fund’s legacy physical records.

This will include:

• Reviewing boxes of legacy records and applying descriptive metadata.
• Making retention, disposal and transfer decisions.
• Cataloguing through the collection management system.
• Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of applying metadata and archival description during large scale cataloguing activities. The role requires the successful candidate to work both independently and as part of the wider Records Management team, engaging with internal and external stakeholders and to work to deadlines.

Due to the nature of this work, the role will be predominantly office based at The Fund’s Newcastle Office, with some opportunity for home working. The Fund does offer flexible working arrangements with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Gifts in wills fund nearly half of the MS Society’s work - and we need a senior legacy officer to help deliver our ambitious plans to grow this vital income stream. In this key role, you’ll lead the delivery of legacy marketing campaigns across digital, direct mail and other channels, create compelling content to inspire gifts in wills, and take charge of in-person events to engage supporters and pledgers. You’ll also manage relationships with external partners and suppliers, ensuring every activity reflects professionalism and empathy.

Asylum Justice is the only charity in Wales - and one of very few in the UK - providing free legal advice and representation to people seeking asylum, refugees, and other migrants who are excluded from legal aid. Every day, we help people navigate a hostile system, challenge injustice, and secure safety for themselves and their families.

Demand for our services is higher than ever. In the past year alone, our caseload increased by nearly 50%, and we've taken on more complex, urgent cases - including supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and people at immediate risk of destitution or deportation.

We’re now looking for a Funding Officer to join our small, committed team and help secure the resources we need to sustain and grow our work. This is a chance to make a tangible difference - not just in helping us meet income targets, but in strengthening access to justice for some of the most marginalised people in Wales.
