About this key role
The main focus for our successful candidate will be to oversee the effective development and delivery of all aspects of the service, including coordinating rescues, developing and maintaining processes around rescue and other referrals, monitoring, rota systems, producing reports and providing daily support to the team.  As well as providing effective line management of the team, we will rely on you to provide advice, guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters as well as ensuring robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments are completed with safeguarding as the priority.

Developing and maintaining relationships with VESS partners and other internal and external stakeholders and further expanding the service through continued promotion of the service to partners and external services is a key element of this role, as is supporting the team to effectively manage caseloads and completing comprehensive risk and needs assessments for young people accessing the service.

What we are looking for

• Extensive experience of addressing safeguarding issues and managing risk with children, young people and adults who are experiencing of violence or exploitation and supporting teams to do the same
• Substantial experience in working in a leadership role as part of a multi-agency team to deliver a service and achieve positive outcomes for young people
•  A thorough understanding of the physical, social, emotional and developmental needs of children and young people
• Sound knowledge of the issues faced by young people such as exploitation, victimisation, offending, school exclusion, unemployment, trauma
• Relevant qualification in youth work, social work, social sciences, education or another relevant field or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

About You and The Role

Working as part of the Health & Care Quality team and within a designated geographical region (Southwest Region, which includes areas such as Hampshire, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall and South Wales), the SCI specialist nurse will support those with newly acquired spinal cord injuries who are not admitted to specialist services, or those with established spinal cord injuries who are being re-admitted to hospital for treatment unrelated to their impairment.

Through telephone, email or face-to-face visits the SCI specialist nurse will offer guidance and advice to these individuals and/or their family members, addressing issues of concern associated with treatment and care and liaising on their behalf with healthcare professionals in the treating hospitals to ensure these are dealt with in line with best practice standards.

The SCI specialist nurse will also act as an educator for healthcare professionals involved in the treatment and care of spinal cord injured people and working in non-specialist settings and will contribute to the development and delivery of educational offerings available via the SIA Frank Williams Academy. When required, the SCI nurse specialist will support individuals through elements of the NHS Continuing Health Care assessment process, attending review or appeal hearings in their capacity as clinical specialist in SCI care. They will also contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and development of the SCI specialist nurse service via mechanisms put in place for that purpose.

About the Role

As our creative, innovative and data led Legacy & In Memory Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering WaterAid’s legacy and in memory fundraising programme with the support of the Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer. You will deliver multi-channel campaigns across TV, digital, direct mail, email and events to raise awareness of gifts in wills, generate legacy enquirers and create inspiring journeys to nurture and engage legacy and in memory supporters.

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute multi-channel campaigns across the marketing funnel, as well as work with the Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer to deliver exceptional stewardship, through personal communications and events, to our committed supporters.

You’ll also: 

• Be responsible for using data, analysis and insight to innovate and maximise both existing campaigns and seek to test new audiences and channels that meet specific objectives within the LIM Team plans
• Undertake Project Management responsibilities required for the successful and timely delivery of multiple channel campaigns – including delivery of the award-winning legacy consideration campaign What Jack Gave across TV and digital

- Maximising Gift Aid income and oversee the proper display and administration of bought-in goods, ensuring minimal stock loss.
- Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.
- Engaging with the community to drive repeat custom, stock donation, volunteer recruitment and community involvement.
- Supporting the Retail Manager in recruiting and managing volunteers and ensuring all staff and volunteers are following Marie Curie procedures and guidelines.
- In the absence of the Retail Manager, taking responsibility for the overall management and operation of the store.

Key Criteria:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
- Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion,
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
- Experience in managing and motivating volunteers is desirable.
