Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, or Newcastle. 

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.  

Your office is where you will usually attend in-person events, training sessions etc. though some travel, to other offices and other locations, will occasionally be expected.

 

Hours: We are looking for the right candidate and while we envisage this being a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) we are very open to flexible working arrangements such as part-time, compressed hours and/or flexitime.

Occasional/frequent evening or weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given.

Purpose of the Role:

As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for creating, developing and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Programme – how we inform, influence and positively impact employer-led social mobility, and a source of income generation.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Income Development, you’ll be the custodian of the Social Mobility Employer Index (SMEI) – our annual benchmarking and assessment tool for how UK employers recruit, retain and develop talent from all socioeconomic backgrounds and build inclusive workplaces. You'll have full product ownership, managing the delivery lifecycle from end-to-end: from marketing, to pipeline development and entrant submissions, data analysis, reporting and evaluation, as well as ongoing development and improvement.

In addition, by collaborating with existing partners who offer pro-bono consultancy, you’ll scope, develop and deliver new products, resources and services that equip employers with the knowledge and practical tools to improve social mobility in the workplace.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of colleagues to support a young person and their family for 22.5 hours per week virtually, at their home and in the community.    

About the person:

• A smart, kind, gentle 11 year old girl who lives at home with her mum and cat. 
• Currently not accessing a school but has a team of supporters supporting an Education Other Than School Package. 
• School and education have been very tricky in the past and so it’s important to build up confidence and wellbeing and take time to recover and make connections. 
• This person loves Taylor Swift, Melaine Martinez and K-Pop. Animals are very important to this person, especially their cat and dogs are a favourite too!
• This person is very skilled at video editing and technology. 
• Current activities which are enjoyable are; shopping, crafts, lots of play, listening to music, gaming, making/watching videos, skateboarding and spending time with animals. 
• This person is autistic and has ADHD. She has a positive self-identify around these diagnoses and celebrates being neurodivergent and being part of the neurodivergent community. 
• This person has additional anxiety disorders that make her distressed by demands or feeling forced to do things, and this anxiety can lead to her not being able to communicate when she wants and needs to.

Under the direction from an advisory teacher with the input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy teams you will develop programmes of activity and provide these according to the young person's needs under the guidance of the team professionals. 

You will provide advice, support and coaching for the young person and their family, under the guidance of the Therapy and Specialist Support (TSS) professionals. In addition you will attend meetings including MDT as required contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans ensuring that the young person is involved in their support planning wherever possible to facilitate their meaningful involvement in their progress.

• You have experience of supporting therapy programmes (as an assistant or other relevant role).
• You have experience of Continuing Professional Development.
• You have experience of working in specialist education.
• You have the ability to relate well to parents and carers.

The successful candidate will work closely with London-based members and grassroots organisations, convening and facilitating opportunities to develop a unified and impactful voice and advocate for systemic change on key issues such as climate justice and resilience, employment inequality and economic inclusion, particularly in the context of public sector investment and the green economy.  About the role 

As a Senior Climate Change Advisor you will provide technical leadership in climate change issues and adaptation actions to shape and drive influencing and impact agendas within Save the Children and the wider sector. You will provide expert technical guidance to drive impactful programme design and evidence generation, and to policy and advocacy goals. You will build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and partners, lead capacity strengthening for colleagues and partners, and champion equality, inclusion and the shifting power agenda. 

 In this role, you will:  

• Serve as the Technical Lead for a multi-country Climate Adaptation programme (yet to be designed and approved) in a Fragile, Conflict, and Violence-affected region, funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). 
• Provide global thought leadership in climate change (adaptation primarily), environment & natural resource management to shape and drive shared influencing and impact agendas within the Save the Children movement and the wider sector, maintaining up-to-date expertise and monitoring relevant external trends.

About you  

We are looking for someone with the following experience, competencies and skills 

• Proven experience and the ability to design and implement large-scale climate adaptation programmes in developing countries, for multi-lateral and bi-lateral development partners 
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific evidence on climate change into practical programming and policy recommendations 
• Proven ability to strengthen evidence and learning uptake through analysis and collaboration, and proven ability to produce high-quality knowledge products (e.g. research, case studies, evaluations, etc.)

We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Volunteer Co-Ordinator to support, inspire and empower our volunteers, branches, and affiliated groups to take action for nature. This role requires someone who is a people-person, great at building relationships, an excellent administrator, and confident with IT.

This is a flexible, hybrid role with at least one day in the office in Shrewsbury each week and travel within Shropshire. 

The Volunteer Co-Ordinator is responsible for ensuring that volunteers have a fulfilling and rewarding experience during their time with SWT. They will look after the whole volunteer journey; helping volunteers find the right role, building their skills and knowledge, celebrating their achievements, and ensuring they feel like a valued part of the team.

We’re looking for those who have:

·Confidence with IT, especially Microsoft programmes, and are comfortable picking up new systems.

·Excellent administration skills, have worked with databases, and have great attention to detail.

·A personal connection to nature and believe that connecting others to nature plays a key role in addressing the climate and ecological crises.

·Experience managing volunteers throughout their journey, including recruitment, onboarding, ongoing training and development, and a good understanding of health and safety requirements.

·A good understanding of what motivates people to volunteer and how to create a great volunteer experience.

·A proven ability to build and nurture working relationships with a wide range of people and personalities.

·Strong communication, able to get your point across clearly, and have difficult conversations when needed.

·A full UK driving license.
