Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership, advising the CEO and Board on financial direction and policy

• Manage and develop the Finance Team, embedding strong processes and financial controls

• Produce annual operating plans and oversee financial KPIs

Policy Advisor – Research and Data Monitoring

Contract type: 12 months Fixed Term, 35 hours per week

Location: London, UK subject to the right to work.

The WaterAid Global Policy and Research team is a mix of research, and thought leadership in their portfolio areas, and influencing global and national policy-making processes. 

About the Role

As our Policy Advisor –Research and Data Monitoring you will support the highest standards of research development, analysis and communication of data relating to the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. 

In this role, you will lead high-level analysis and quality assurance of WASH data use as well as management research resources, include the Research and Evidence Bank, the Research Tracker and the Statistics Bank.

You’ll also: 

• Contribute to the design and commissioning of research projects to support advocacy, campaigns, media communications
• Oversea and manage small research projects – facilitating the sharing of research outputs and learnings within GPAC and across the organisation
• Work closely with GPAC colleagues and other WaterAid UK departments and ensure that information on commissioned research projects and learnings are shared widely across the WaterAid Federation (Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, UK, and USA)
• Play an active role in the research team, support colleagues and provide feedback as required and support any other relevant processes within the remit of the Policy team and GPAC in general

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data and statistics, including an ability to seek the latest data from regular sources and to access new sources of data relevant to WaterAid’s work
• Strong analytical, research and writing skills (English language)
• An entrepreneurial approach to supporting influencing work, including the ability to take the initiative and rapidly adapt work plans to seize new and unforeseen opportunities.
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation
• Proven ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse cultures in a matrix organisation
• Masters’ degree, or post-graduate qualifications and research experience; in relevant discipline; including statistics, economics, geography, maths, statistics, and international development
• Excellent IT (Information Technology) skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Power BI

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• A successful track record of developing high quality research work
• Good knowledge of the WASH and development sectors
• Experience of working in research for public policy and/or advocacy on policy issues
• Project management skills
• Ability to build the networks and coalitions needed to drive an effective change agenda - especially with major international agencies (multilateral development banks, United Nations agencies, OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) etc.), governments and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations)

Working closely with artists, creatives, community stakeholders and health colleagues, as Head of Arts & Wellbeing you will be leading on the design and delivery of projects and initiatives in the community with the aim to support young people’s mental health.

More about the role

Blue Cross animal hospitals and pet care clinics provide veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees. Our vet care is available to pets whose owners receive certain means-tested benefits and live within the catchment area of one of our animal hospitals or pet care clinics.  

We have developed an award-winning set of clinical guidelines to assist our vets in pragmatic, evidence-based decision making, where patient welfare is a priority. High standards are important to us, but so is the ability to discuss openly where lessons have been learnt, within a safe, non-judgmental environment.  

We recognise that we work within a profession where compassion fatigue is a risk to us all. We have wellbeing champions and Mental Health First Aiders at all hospitals, coordinating a range of initiatives and promoting a culture of openness and support within the team.  

Working hours: This is a full time position offered on a permanent basis. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:30 – 5pm. Wednesday 9-5. Hour lunchbreak. Weekend shifts will be required on a rota basis, at our other site based in Victoria, London. This roughly equates to 7-8 full weekends per year.

About you

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be confident and capable in delivering excellent nursing care for a range of small animals, providing both emergency and routine healthcare. Our Veterinary Nurses work alongside Veterinary Surgeons to promote animal health and welfare through responsible ownership and play a key role in the education of pet owners.

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Brand and Content team as our Video Content Creator. This is a permanent, hybrid, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our office either in Kings Cross, London or Selly Oak, Birmingham.

The Brand and Content Team nurture and develop the Sense brand, putting it at the heart of everything we do and ensuring it is consistently represented throughout every touchpoint.  We are also responsible for creating engaging and stand out content for departments across the organisation, whilst also creating content to meet our own strategic goals. 

The successful candidate will join our fast-paced and motivated team to deliver highly engaging short form video content for social media, digital adverts, website and events. Your content will build and push the Sense brand, increase understanding of the challenges faced by disabled people with complex needs, help those affected to live full and meaningful lives, inspire people to fundraise and take action, and communicate the impact of Sense’s work through engaging and compelling storytelling. In this hands-on role you will be responsible for all aspects of video production, including creative development, logistics and planning, directing, filming, conducting interviews and all elements of post-production, requiring strong organisation and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time. 

You’ll spend a lot of time out on location capturing authentic moments and voices, translating them into compelling and engaging video content.  One day you might be at our services meeting the people we support, and another you might be at a fundraising or campaigning event.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a consistent pipeline of engaging short form video in platform-native formats and related assets.
• Interview storytellers on camera, who may have sensitive stories, to create compelling and engaging storytelling video content.

• Act as a representative of Sense’s workforce in campaigning or information videos when appropriate.
• Work with internal teams to identify and plan the role that video plays in the wider communications mix.

• Run and deliver all areas of video production, including planning, organising and running video shoots (including responsibility for filming), and all elements of post-production from social media editing, to grading, captioning, exporting for social platforms, creating accessible transcripts and publishing on Sense's YouTube channels. .
• Help to maintain our asset library, ensuring assets are uploaded, described and tagged correctly, and helping colleagues to use it when required.
• Manage agencies, freelancers, volunteers and beneficiaries to produce video content as required.

Key skills and experience

• Experience in all aspects of shooting and producing a high standard of digital first short form video content for external audiences either in an agency or in-house.
• Strong experience in creating video edits for social media (including TikTok), with demonstrable understanding and knowledge of optimal formats and tactics for different channels and platforms.
• Experience in fast-paced short (and medium-length) content, aiming for a fast turnaround.
• Experience in developing strong creative content ideas to deliver against content strategies.
• A strong understanding of and experience in crafting engaging and impactful storytelling video content.
• Working with case studies or interviewees with experience in planning and conducting interviews and drawing out compelling stories.
• Skilled experience in producing, directing, lighting, audio recording and shooting short form digital first video.
• Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro), including colour grading, audio, and exporting to required formats.
• Familiarity working with imagery and graphics as part of video projects (Adobe Photoshop).
• Mobile videography and editing skills (as well professional camera and editing skills).

The Assessment and Data Administrator role is responsible for assisting with online assessment systems to ensure that full compliance of awarding organisations requirements are adhered to. Additionally, this individual will be the first point of call within the team for candidate or customer queries around our operational processes. 
 
We are looking for a positive, self-starter with strong organisational skills, who is confident with managing multiple tasks, and priorities and is able to provide an efficient support. We are looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to provide effective financial management, accurate financial reporting and oversee the facilities management of the Trust’s offices. The Finance & Operations Manager will manage a team of 2 and be part of the Trust’s People Manager Team.

Summary of key duties:

Financial Management and Reporting

Role Summary

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign.  You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Stewardship and supporter journey

• Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
• Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
• Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.

Funder recognition

• Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
• Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
• Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.
• Lead for Development on work with the Design, Comms, Marketing and Digital team to develop agreed frameworks and ‘lock-ups’ for the NHM’s brand and visual identity. Create agreed procedures to ensure sign-off by all parties which is effective and well-communicated.

Communications and reporting

• Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.
• Support the creation of the Museum’s Annual Review, Annual Report and similar impact reporting; ensuring appropriate funder recognition.
• Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution

Other responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of Museum stakeholders, to ensure stewardship plans and activities are successfully coordinated and delivered.
• Responsible for oversight of Supporter Cards for key Development supporters, working with the Database team to create and distribute.
• Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking against comparable institutions, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities, and where appropriate implement these best practices at the Museum.
• Record essential information accurately and appropriately, using Development Group systems and the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes tracking agreed and live negotiations for funder recognition and commitments on major projects.

What we’re looking for

Essential

• Significant experience in a fundraising / funder management role, or similar project management experience
• A strong working knowledge of the role of stewardship in the not-for-profit or cultural sectors, with the ability to initiate and manage stewardship activities.
• A proactive, positive and creative approach to stewardship, with the ability to recognise and create relationship-building and strengthening opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both face-to-face and through written material such as letters, reports and visual presentations.
• Attention to detail and ability to successfully negotiate with colleagues across the Museum to monitor and deliver donor recognition requirements.
• A team player, able to work flexibly and positively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

• Location: Birmingham 

• Permanent contract  

• Term Time - 35 hours per week over 48 weeks (Sep-July with August as leave)   

• £22,916 - £26,583 paid over 12 months depending on experience 
  This is equivalent to £25,000-£27,000 per annum full-time.

A fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in youth facilitation and stakeholder management to join our team as a Programme Coordinator. We have a three-year strategy to increase the number of young people we serve while ensuring we can grow with impact and sustainability. You will join a team that is determined and energetic; reflective and collaborative; and values the experiences and backgrounds of each person we work with.    

As a Programme Coordinator (PC) you will be at the frontline of our work, working directly with schools and colleges, young people and local businesses to make an impact! You will be responsible for all aspects of programme management and delivery of the Envision programme in a cluster of schools/colleges in your region.   

Key Responsibilities:  

• Programme delivery and facilitating work with young people  

• Programme management and logistics  

• Stakeholder management   

• Impact management   

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:  

• Experience of facilitating activities with young people – including preparing engaging sessions in advance by utilising resources available to them  

• Experience of project management – highly organised, with the ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines  

• Experience of working on projects which have multiple stakeholders – communicating effectively through written and verbal communication  

• Commitment to Envision’s vision, mission and values and ability to work well in, and contribute to, our organisational culture  

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:  

• Experience of data handling – collecting and recording data in a timely manner using an online CRM system  

• Understanding of, and/ or lived experience of, the barriers that young people face, that contribute to the education and employment gap
