The RSPCA York, Harrogate & District Branch is seeking to increase its fundraising activity in order to secure the funding neccessary to completely rebuild the York Animal Home. We are looking to bring on an experienced individual to design, launch and lead our capital campaign and raise the remaining funds needed to complete the project.
The Capital Campaign Lead will take overall responsibility for planning, leading and delivering the £5m capital appeal over the next few years. This includes developing the case for support, managing campaign phases, cultivating major donors and funders, and ensuring strong governance, reporting and stewardship throughout the campaign.
The York Animal Home was built in 1980 and no longer meets modern welfare, licensing or operational requirements. Demand for our services is rising sharply, while the complexity and scale of cases continues to grow. We are at the point where our current animal facilities do meet our needs and have been working to redevelop the site and build new modern facilities.
We have received planning permission and are in the process of finalising the designs prior to construction beginning this year.
We expect Major donors, high-net worth individuals and corporate partnerships to make up the main elements of the fundraising campaign, so are looking for individuals with a proven track record of raising large sums in these areas.

Job Summary
The Senior Partnership Officer will play a pivotal role in building, strengthening and diversifying Bipolar UK’s high‑value relationships, with a particular emphasis on corporate fundraising and identifying strategic, mutually beneficial collaborations that support the charity’s long‑term needs.
Working closely with the Strategic Partnership Manager, you will manage and grow our portfolio of major donors, corporate supporters, and strategic partners. You will provide exceptional stewardship, ensuring partners feel valued, engaged, and inspired to deepen their relationship with us.
A key part of the role will involve proactively identifying and cultivating new corporate prospects, developing compelling propositions, crafting funding proposals, and pitching confidently to decision‑makers at all levels. You will help implement robust cultivation plans and ensure effective monitoring and evaluation across all partnership activity.
You will also work collaboratively across the wider Fundraising Team - including with the Fundraising Officer - supporting campaigns, events, and individual giving where needed.
This is a home‑based position with travel required for meetings and events across the UK. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Growing Corporate and Strategic Partnerships
- Drive the growth of corporate fundraising through proactive identification, research and cultivation of new corporate prospects.
- Develop innovative, mutually beneficial partnership opportunities, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Charity of the Year, sponsorships, staff fundraising, corporate challenge events, payroll giving and cause‑related marketing.
- Create compelling propositions tailored to corporate audiences.
- Lead and support pitches to secure long‑term, strategic and income‑generating partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Services, Communications) to co‑design new partnership concepts, projects or services that align with charity priorities.
- Support the development of partnership agreements and ensure expectations, deliverables and benefits are clearly defined.
- Work to a mutually agreed financial target and use the CRM to track and record relevant data to grow our donor pipeline.
2. Strengthening High‑Value Donor & Partner Stewardship
- Deliver excellent relationship management to major donors, corporate partners and strategic allies.
- Provide regular updates on impact and organisational achievements to deepen engagement.
- Organise meetings, briefings, events and engagement opportunities to showcase our work.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all interactions on Salesforce.
- Create tailored materials, proposals and events to support ongoing partnership activity.
- Represent Bipolar UK through presentations at corporate and partner events.
- Track performance and impact of partnerships, supporting continuous improvement.
3. Supporting Wider Fundraising
- Work collaboratively with the Fundraising Officer, SPM and wider team to maximise fundraising opportunities across all income streams.
- Provide hands‑on support for individual giving campaigns, events and community fundraising when needed.
- Contribute to team planning, cross‑team projects, and organisational initiatives.

Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in major donor fundraising, corporate fundraising or partnership development.
- Proven track record of generating new business at 5 and 6 figure levels - from prospecting through to securing partnerships.
- Experience working to, and achieving, income targets.
- Strong understanding of the corporate sector, CSR and corporate fundraising mechanisms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering pitches and proposals.
- Excellent project and time‑management skills.
- Understanding of ethical fundraising and GDPR compliance.
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and quick to adopt new technologies.
Desirable:
- Experience within a mental health or health‑related charity.
- Understanding of bipolar gained through lived experience or supporting a friend or family member.

- Actively solicit and manage donor relationships across assigned portfolio to contribute to the global philanthropy income target with a focus on building new income and unrestricted income

The Philanthropy Fundraiser will play a key role in growing high-value income streams by identifying, building and nurturing relationships with major donors. You will develop tailored engagement strategies, create compelling cases for support, and deliver excellent stewardship to secure significant gifts that sustain and expand our care services for future generations.
The role will do this by focusing on;
- Developing and implementing a philanthropy strategy for Nottinghamshire Hospice.
- Cultivating relationships with donors capable of giving £5000+ annually.
- Working closely with Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and key external stakeholders.
- Storytelling and communicating the impact fundraising has on those we support.
- Organising and attending donor cultivation events and networking.
This role requires an ambitious, self-motivated, and target-driven fundraiser who will form part of our vibrant and passionate fundraising team.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
- Able to demonstrate how you meet the Hospice values of Compassion, Trust and Ambition.
- Proven experience in major donor / relationship fundraising or high-value fundraising.
- Target driven with proven experience of exceeding income targets.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to write persuasive proposals and construct personalised approaches.
- Confidence verbalising key messages to present confidently to diverse audiences and in a variety of settings eg. one-to-one or to larger audiences.
- Proven experience of motivating and inspiring others with the use of powerful storytelling.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience of managing a busy workload with conflicting priorities.
- Experience in managing projects from formation to delivery.
- Experience of working within a legislative or external governance framework.
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge if the hospice or healthcare sector
- Experience using fundraising CRM systems (e.g. Donorflex)

Travelling may be required for your job role and therefore you may be required to hold a Full UK Drivers’ licence, have access to a vehicle and to be able to provide evidence of ‘Business use’ motor insurance, purchased at the postholders’ expense.

We are seeking a Senior Philanthropy Manager to secure transformational income through high-value giving strategies across major donors, legacies, trusts, foundations, and corporate partnerships. By building meaningful relationships and inspiring generosity, you'll create long-term partnerships that deliver life-changing support for children, young people, and families.
As a member of the fundraising management team contributing to shaping and delivering the overall Fundraising & Engagement strategy, you'll provide supportive line management to two direct reports. You'll develop and implement high-value donor giving strategies to drive sustainable year-on-year income growth, while building and nurturing meaningful relationships with high-value donors and managing your own portfolio with robust cultivation and stewardship plans.
Working with the Director of Fundraising & Engagement, you'll collaborate with senior leaders and trustees to identify new income opportunities. You'll implement and drive the Legacy and In-Memory strategy, oversee stewardship programmes for legacy pledgers, lead strategic pipeline development for Trusts and Foundations, and develop and deliver a Corporate Fundraising strategy. Conducting in-depth research and wealth screening, you'll identify and evaluate prospects while monitoring KPIs, budgets, and ROI against strategic plans.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience of line management and team leadership
- Proven experience of donor management, demonstrating the ability to build and steward high-value, income-generating relationships
- Demonstrable experience of achieving or exceeding income targets, delivering year-on-year net income growth
- Track record of developing, managing and growing high-value pipelines across major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies and corporate partners
- Proven success in major gift fundraising, including securing five or six figure gifts through face-to-face asks
By month 3, you'll have reviewed current high-value fundraising strategies and met key internal stakeholders including the Director of Fundraising, SLT, and Trustees. By month 6, you'll have launched refined Major Donor and Legacy strategies, developed a robust prospect pipeline, and initiated at least one new corporate partnership. By month 12, you'll have delivered a measurable increase in high-value income across all streams, embedded legacy messaging across all fundraising channels, and secured multi-year commitments from at least two major donors or trusts.

A £50 million capital appeal was launched in late 2025, which will fund improvements of facilities for artists, audiences and young people taking part in engagement activities at the Grade I listed concert hall. This 15-year estate plan represents a significant evolution in the Hall’s fundraising approach, creating an exceptional opportunity to expand its philanthropic reach, deepen relationships with supporters and secure transformational investment in the future of this much-loved institution.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager (Maternity Cover) will play a pivotal role in the delivery of its major donor programme. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role sits at the heart of the philanthropy team, combining hands-on major gifts fundraising with oversight of systems, processes and pipeline management. The postholder will shape and steward a growing portfolio of high-value supporters during a critical phase of the Hall’s capital appeal, while ensuring that donor engagement activity is coordinated, consistent and effective.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will:
- Report to the Head of Philanthropy and line manage two direct reports – Senior Prospect Researcher and Philanthropy Coordinator – fostering clarity, structure and confidence within your team.
- Manage a personal portfolio of major donors, stewarding relationships typically in the £20,000–£500,000 range.
- Work to a team income target, generating funds from HNWIs through major gifts, mid-value gifts and legacies.
- Own and drive the major donor pipeline, ensuring clear next steps, momentum and follow-through across cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Be donor-facing, through regular face-to-face meetings, cultivation activity and events, including evening engagement as part of stewardship.
- Ensure robust processes are in place for tracking, thanking and income processing, with delivery support from the Philanthropy Coordinator.
- Act as a central coordinating figure for major donor activity, working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Development Director and selected Philanthropy Board members.
- Lead on the rollout of donor communications, including tailored donor stewardship and wider impact reporting.
- Work closely with other development colleagues who focus on the Hall’s Friends and Patrons programmes, Trust and Foundation approaches and Events.
Essential skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of managing and stewarding high-value individual donors, ideally within a major gifts or upper mid-value context.
- Experience of personally securing c.£50K+ donations from HNWIs – please ensure that examples of personally secured gifts from HNWIs, including £value, are included on your CV. It would also be helpful to include context e.g., uplift, new donor
- Confidence working with fundraising databases and systems (ideally Tessitura), and a strong understanding of GDPR and DPA 2018.
- Strong organisational and process skills, with the ability to keep complex, multi-strand activity moving and well-tracked.
- Experience of working collaboratively in a matrixed environment with senior stakeholders and volunteers.
- Some line management or mentoring experience, with the ability to provide clear direction and practical support. However, this is not a heavily people-management-focused role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging donors in a range of settings.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach, combined with sound judgement and professionalism.
Desirable:
- Arts, culture or heritage fundraising experience.
- Experience of working on or alongside a capital appeal.

Purpose
Horatio’s Garden is a nationwide charity creating and nurturing beautifully designed gardens in NHS’s spinal injury centres.
The Patient Experience Manager will be instrumental in supporting patients and families use of the garden.
Along with the Head Gardener, you will be responsible for the smooth running of a thriving, vibrant garden ensuring the patient and their family are appropriately supported throughout their time in the spinal unit.
This role requires you to manage a team of volunteers and work closely with the Head Gardener who maintains the horticultural standard of the garden and delivers therapeutic horticulture sessions. You will be managed by the National Patient Experience Lead.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clinical and non-clinical NHS staff, corporate sponsors, funders, the Fundraising team, the Communications team and the National Patient Experience Manager.
The gardens have been beautifully designed and maintained, and the role of the garden needs to reflect an appropriate environment for patients and their families at all stages of their stay. From the initial welcome, to ensuring the contact and relationship is consistent with activities to suit their needs.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering social activities, supported by the charity’s National Patient Experience Manager and in collaboration with the wider Spinal Injuries team in Cardiff. These activities will mainly need to be held at the weekend or in the afternoons which are critical times in the garden when most patients are available and often have friends and family to visit. Currently the Events programme includes seasonal celebrations and social and craft activities. External facilitators also deliver workshops and live music performances.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, proactive individual who is efficient, well organised and has outstanding communication and relationship building skills. You will need to be adaptable and friendly and confident working with a wide range of people including people with spinal injuries and their families, NHS staff, volunteers and many different teams within the charity.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
People with spinal injuries
· Develop relationships with patients and families to ensure the best experience for them in the garden at every stage of their stay
· Maintain a consistent social and arts activity programme appropriate for the current patient group, liaising with the National Patient Experience Manager and managing the volunteers accordingly
· Organise a programme of seasonal events, reflecting the needs of patients
· Work with the Impact Manager to monitor patient experience and the impact of the garden
· Ensure the garden is managed to allow the correct balance to be in place to benefit both patients and external parties (major donors, trusts, corporate groups and other visitors)
NHS staff
· Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with NHS clinical teams and voluntary services
Volunteers
· Recruitment and training of new volunteers
· Manage the team of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the garden with patient experience at its core
Fundraising and Communications
· Work with fundraising managers, Head Gardener and volunteers to develop opportunities to generate income in the garden through friends, corporate friends and third-party fundraising
· Support corporate sponsor events and fundraising opportunities
· Represent the garden and charity at key events
· Promote the local social media accounts and provide regular updates for content

Administrative
· Ensure all administrative tasks associated with the role are monitored, completed and maintained
