WHO WE ARE  

The 999 Club is a small charity doing big things with local people facing homelessness. For over 30 years we’ve been in the heart of Deptford providing warm welcomes and wraparound services ensuring those who need us are given the best chance of leaving homelessness behind for good.  

Our Gateway Drop-In Centre offers nutritious meals, laundry and medical facilities, showers, IT access, phone charging , a safe space to rest and a dedicated Women’s Sanctuary.  

When members feel ready, our team of expert staff are on hand to support them into suitable accommodation where possible, secure income via paid work or benefits, and provide immigration signposting for those who need it. Once housed, our Move+ programme continues to work with them to ensure they settle into new accommodation with the knowledge, skills, community and hope required to thrive in their new life.  

We also run The Bridge, a free six-week evening mental health course open to anyone in the community experiencing mental distress. The programme provides a practical toolkit to support long-term mental wellbeing.  

JOB OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES 

This role will play a vital role in advancing 999 Club’s ambitious plans to enhance its status, reputation, and support among both existing and wider audiences. At this pivotal moment in the charity’s history, the postholder will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Members’ Committee to co-develop and implement a bold new communications and marketing strategy. 

Building on a recent organisational rebrand, this role will ensure that the voices of those with lived experience remain central to the organisation’s messaging and identity. A key focus will be strengthening internal and external communication, uniting our diverse membership—which includes staff, clients, volunteers, trustees, and supporters—while also reaching new audiences through social media, direct marketing, PR, and media outreach. 

A major priority will be the relaunch and expansion of the 999 Club’s Membership Scheme and Champions Programme, designed to deepen awareness and support for 999 Club across Southeast London and beyond. Underpinning these efforts, the postholder will manage the Donorfy CRM database and ensure the ongoing maintenance and development of our WordPress website. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES  

• Manage 999 Club’s social media across all major platforms, creating engaging content that amplifies member voices and resonates with wider audiences. 

• Identify and sensitively share compelling stories that inspire support, avoid clichés and reinforce 999 Club’s themes of positivity, progress, and hope. 

• Produce dynamic newsletter content that strengthen reader engagement and drives action. 

• Work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to ensure that all design and communications align with 999 Club’s brand style, visual identity, and tone of voice. 

• Handle press enquiries and proactively promote 999 Club’s work across media channels. 

• Grow our Patrons Programme so that it reflects 999 Club’s unique and diverse character and supports strategic growth. 

• Develop and relaunch our Membership Scheme, securing partnerships with local businesses in Lewisham and Greenwich to boost visibility and support. 

• Maintain and manage the Donorfy database, ensuring accurate donor records, reporting, and updates. 

• Produce regular reports, data and analytics on social media and website activity to inform strategy.

• Identify opportunities for promotion and outreach, and represent 999 Club at events, festivals, and meetings. 

• Maintain and update the WordPress website, applying best practices in SEO and accessibility. 

• Support colleagues with research, case studies, consultations, and other initiatives.

• Stay at the forefront of digital trends by networking, researching, and attending CPD and training.  

• Engage with the wider sector on regional and national campaigns. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Qualifications 
Desirable: 

• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development e.g. courses, training, other or qualifications. 

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent), preferably in design, marketing or a related field and/or a profession. 

Experience and knowledge 

Essential: 

• Proven expertise in communications, marketing, and brand development. 

• Strong customer service and public relations skills. 

• High confidence with IT systems and a willingness to learn new platforms. 

• Experience maintaining a CRM database. 

• Experience in website design, management, and upkeep. 

• Hands-on experience managing social media for an organisation, charity, or company.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to join Bemorefab Children's Cancer Charity at a genuinely exciting stage in our growth. Our core team is hands-on and close-knit, and the person who takes this role will have real influence over how the charity develops.

The primary purpose of the role is to grow and diversify our income, working towards an annual fundraising target of well over £300,000. You will lead on public and community fundraising, corporate partnerships, events, grant applications, digital giving, and donor stewardship, building systems and relationships that will sustain the charity for years to come.

We run high-profile events including our flagship Have Happy Days Gala, Corporate Golf Day, Santa Fun Run and race days. You will play a central role in coordinating these and developing new fundraising activity alongside them.

As the charity grows, this role will grow with it. You may take on line management of additional fundraising staff as the team expands, and you will play an active role in supporting and coordinating our volunteers.

In year one, we would want you to have built a strong corporate pipeline, established a working CRM and stewardship process, submitted a meaningful portfolio of grant applications, and contributed to events that raise the profile and income of the charity. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and help shape what comes next.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy and Income Generation

• Develop and deliver a fundraising plan aligned with the charity's growth aims.

• Lead on community and public fundraising activity, including supporter-led fundraising, challenges, campaigns and events.

• Identify and cultivate new income opportunities across individual giving, regular giving and appeals.

• Develop and grow our online and digital fundraising presence, including donation campaigns, social media appeals and crowdfunding.

Corporate Partnerships

• Research, identify and approach prospective corporate partners.

• Develop tailored partnership proposals and stewardship plans.

• Maintain strong, positive relationships to encourage long-term support and explore matched giving, charity of the year and sponsorship opportunities.

Grants and Trusts

• Research and identify suitable grant and trust opportunities.

Events and Supporter Engagement

Data, CRM and Donor Stewardship

• Establish and manage a CRM system to track donors, supporters and income streams.

• Ensure all fundraising data is recorded accurately and in line with GDPR.

• Deliver high-quality, personalised stewardship to nurture long-term relationships and increase donor retention.

• Monitor income against targets and produce regular performance reports with insights and recommendations.

• Prepare fundraising reports for the CEO and Trustees as required.

Advocacy Manager - International Finance 

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit an Advocacy Manager- International Finance to join their team in Brussels, Johannesburg, London or Nairobi. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

A key area of our work is unlocking more international finance for air quality action. We are seeking a dynamic advocacy manager with expertise in international finance who can drive Clean Air Fund’s growing work in this area.

In this role, you will lead and deliver high‑impact advocacy work, managing key outputs, including CAF’s flagship State of Global Air Quality Funding report, as well partnerships, grants, and projects that support CAF’s goals. You’ll have the opportunity to advise colleagues across the organisation on finance and be comfortable convening others to help come up with solutions. You will bring experience in engaging with major development finance actors and supporting senior leadership in their external engagement.

You’ll have the opportunity to take an entrepreneurial approach to the role, spotting opportunities to grow this work and travel internationally to key financing meetings. You’ll be a joining a friendly, and small but mighty advocacy team, within a collaborative, dynamic and growing organisation.

Senior Philanthropy Manager

Permanent, full time (40 hours per week)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced high-value fundraiser to play a key role in driving philanthropic income, building meaningful donor relationships, and helping deliver ambitious impact.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, creating tailored cultivation and stewardship plans, and securing significant gifts (particularly at c.£10,000 / mid-value level) to support The Felix Project's work. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation including the Prospect Research Manager and other fundraising colleagues, to identify opportunities, shape compelling proposals and new products, and deliver an excellent donor experience from first engagement through to long-term relationships.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record in relationship-led fundraising, including experience of securing major gifts and developing donor pipelines. You'll be a confident communicator with excellent written skills, able to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders and create new products to engage donors giving at mid-value level. You'll be organised, proactive, and comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery.

About the role

You will lead Refugee Action's Major Partnerships team, building and delivering a sustainable programme that raises significant income from major donors, trusts, corporates, statutory and foundation funders.

We're looking for a hands-on leader who can hit the ground running. The organisation has been through a period of change, and this role is central to leading the team through the transition by creating clarity, stability and shared purpose – restoring confidence, establishing clear ways of working, and embedding a culture of proactive new business development.

You will take ownership of rebuilding the team's foundations – setting direction, defining processes, and creating the conditions for high performance.  About you

You will bring significant leadership experience across at least two areas of Major Donor, Corporate, Trust or Statutory fundraising, with a track record of securing and stewarding gifts of £100k+. About Degrees

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM) geoengineering, a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. We seek a Fundraising / Development Manager to manage relationships with our existing funders and to help bring in new donors and partners to diversify our funding base. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to increase the capacity of a field-leading charity, help empower the Global South, and contribute to one of the world’s most important climate-change debates. If you are an ambitious, relationship-driven fundraising leader with an interest in climate policy, science or global development, this is an opportunity to step into a role with purpose, international influence, and real impact.  

The charity is rapidly scaling up, recently doubling its annual budget to £6 million. Degrees has partnered with leading climate change funders and research partners including the Quadrature Climate Foundation, Open Philanthropy, Crankstart, Navigation Fund, Outlier Projects, LAD Climate Fund and UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). Transparency of funding is essential to our work. We do not accept support from anonymous donors or funding from the fossil fuel industry.

Role

We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and working closely with the Founder & CEO and the Chair of the Trustees, the Fundraising / Development Manager will support and coordinate fundraising efforts aimed at securing multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship, and will support and coordinate the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. The post holder will receive initial onboarding support from the Senior Philanthropy Advisor. As fundraising grows, the team may expand in the future.

Initial priorities include expansion beyond the current donor pool, with a strong push to engage new funders, and putting in place the systems (CRM, reporting cadence, key performance indicators) to support growth at scale.

As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items will include: 

Strategy & planning

• Work with the CEO, COO, Senior Philanthropy Advisor, the Chair of the Trustees, and other senior staff to support the development and implementation of a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational objectives; 

Pipeline development & new opportunities 

• Maintain and coordinate the fundraising pipeline, supporting the fundraising activities of senior staff and the Chair; 

• Support the identification and development of new funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, government funders, and multilateral donors in the development and climate sectors on an ongoing basis; 

• Reach out to networks of climate philanthropy advisors for referrals; 

• Manage contact with funding opportunities; 

Grant writing 

• Draft and coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals; 

Donor stewardship & reporting 

• Maintain excellent relations with existing funders by keeping them informed on charity and sector updates, inviting them to events, and ensuring the delivery of annual reports and notices; 

• Ensure and manage ongoing reporting; 

Events & engagement 

• Working with the Events Manager, help design and deliver fundraising events for existing and potential funders, particularly in the UK and US; 

• Manage invitation lists, track attendance and ensure bespoke follow-up to attendees; 

• Assist in the design of events that will inspire and engage funders while involving Southern experts in the Degrees research community; 

• Coordinate all fundraising outreach and related programming for the Degrees Global Forum (a conference to be held in 2027); 

Processes, systems & administration 

• Support the development and implementation of structured processes across the entire fundraising and donor lifecycle; 

• Develop and track KPIs, providing regular reports to senior staff and the Trustees; 

• Be responsible for fundraising data, contacts and administrative records. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• At least ten years’ experience in fundraising or transferrable relevant experience;

• Track record of helping secure six- and seven-figure grants income from foundations, major individual donors, and/or public agencies; 

• Strong organisational and project management skills; 

• Experience and comfort with Microsoft 365, fundraising CRMs and other common software tools; 

• Experience organising events; 

• Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively in English with a keen attention to detail; 

• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, including an ability to work with people of all levels and backgrounds; 

• Experience creating and maintaining fundraising processes; 

• Ability to adapt and remain comfortable in a dynamic, remote start-up environment in a small organisation; 

• Ability to travel internationally; 

• Legal right to work in the UK.

About the Role

Summary of the Role
The Director of Development (DoD) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all fundraising income and supporter engagement activity at DSWF. The role is accountable for delivering sustainable, diversified revenue growth aligned with DSWF’s mission across conservation, education and art, while building lasting relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and senior supporters.

Working in close partnership with the CEO, COO, CFO, and Board of Trustees, the DoD translates organisational strategy into compelling Cases for Support, effective fundraising plans and measurable outcomes. The postholder leads and develops a high-performing Development team, ensuring strong delivery and continuous improvement.

As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Director shares responsibility for shaping the Foundation’s overall direction, contributing to governance, organisational culture and high-level strategic decision-making.

This is a pivotal position combining senior management with hands-on major gift fundraising and team leadership. Central to enabling the Foundation’s long-term impact and growth, the DoD is a driving force behind DSWF’s ability to successfully deliver its mission to protect endangered species in Africa and Asia.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
•Lead on the development, implementation, delivery and continuous refinement of DSWF’s multi-year Development strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and long-term financial sustainability.
•Advise the CEO and Trustees on fundraising performance, trends, risks and opportunities.
•Own and articulate the organisational Case/s for Support, ensuring a clear, compelling narrative that integrates conservation impact, education outcomes and artistic heritage.

Major & Strategic Fundraising
•Working closely with the CEO, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of DSWF’s most significant donors and prospects, including major individual donors, trusts and foundations, legacy campaigns and strategic partners.
•Responsible, alongside the CEO, for the overall management of all corporate partnerships and sponsors.

Events
•This senior role will have overall responsibility for any fundraising or donor profile events (at present this would include the Wildlife Ball which is an annual fundraising/profile raising event that takes place at the Dorchester Hotel).
•Working closely with the rest of SMT, this role will direct the Development team to ensure that all events deliver optimum, high level donor experiences and are run professionally (with logistics and operational support from the COO and team).
•This role will have overall responsibility for ensuring the CEO has all information required to support engagement with donors at all events.

Governance & Reporting
•Report on Development performance to the CEO, SMT and Trustees, providing clear analysis against agreed targets.
•Work closely with Finance to support forecasting, budgeting and long-term income planning.
•Work closely with Finance and legal advisors in relation to all legal matters pertaining to legacies and bequests.

•Significant senior leadership experience in fundraising and development within complex, mission-driven non-profit organisations, at Director level or equivalent, where philanthropy is critical to organisational impact and growth.
