An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cure Parkinson’s philanthropy team until June 2027. In this role you will provide excellent personalised support to our ambitious Development Board, a group of eight well connected individuals using their networks to accelerate Cure Parkinson’s income generation, and be an integral part of the team delivering two special philanthropy events.
Cure Parkinson’s Gala 2027: Our last gala event ‘An Evening at the Roundhouse’, in October 2024, raised over £500,000. The evening was hosted by Edith Bowman and Simon Mayo and included performances from Emeli Sandé and Peter Andre.
Grand Cru.saders Banquet: The Grand Cru.saders are a new group of philanthropic wine enthusiasts with a mission, set up by our Development Board. To join each member pledges a case from their cellar to be auctioned in support of Cure Parkinson’s at an annual dinner. Their inaugural event took place in September 2025 and raised over £160,000.
Over the next 18 months we plan to build on the success of these events, delivering the second Grand Cru.saders Banquet in September 2026 and a gala in Spring 2027. As Major Gifts and Philanthropy Events Officer you would be a vital part of the team making this happen.
Everything we do is to move us closer to our goal, of finding new treatments to slow, stop or reverse the progression of Parkinson’s.

Working closely with our Corporate Lead and High Value Relationships Lead, you’ll be part of a collaborative team focused on securing six‑ and seven‑figure, multi‑year partnerships that provide sustainable income for people with a learning disability. Your core mission: securing transformational gifts that fuel our strategic priorities for the years ahead.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced fundraising leader who has already demonstrated the ability to transform income by building robust, multi‑year pipelines with major corporate and philanthropic funders. As this role has no line management responsibility, it is ideal for someone who excels in hands‑on fundraising from prospect identification all the way through to secured pledges.
You will be an exceptional communicator with strong sales, influencing and stewardship skills, and you’ll be experienced at working effectively across large, complex organisations. Above all, you will be passionate about the authentic inclusion ofpeople with a learning disability in everything you do.
This 12‑month Fixed Term Contract offers flexibility, with visibility required in our London office and regular external meetings with prospects (several times per week). You will spend approximately 60% of your time on corporate fundraising and 40% on philanthropic activity, contributing to a step‑change in transformational income at Mencap.

As our Major Gifts & Partnerships Lead, you will:
· Lead the identification and securing of new six‑ and seven‑figure strategic relationships with major corporate and philanthropic partners.
· Build, manage and deliver multi‑year pipelines across corporate and philanthropy.
· Use prospecting tools to identify significant new opportunities and lead their cultivation.
· Develop compelling, inspiring, transformational propositions that align with Mencap’s strategic vision.
· Work collaboratively with the Corporate Lead, High Value Relationships Lead and wider fundraising teams.
· Maximise our use of Salesforce and analytical tools for reporting, forecasting and pipeline planning.
· Maintain high visibility with prospects, supporters and internal stakeholders.

The Role
The Major Gifts Manager will work closely with the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts to provide support on all gifts at £12,000 and above. The role combines face-to-face fundraising of the annual Major Donor levels of Artistic Director’s Circle and Avant Guardians, implementing the strategy to recruit further support at these levels as well as supporting recruitment at the Major Project Support level which begins at £50,000. There is regular and proactive collaboration with development department colleagues and the wider Sadler’s Wells team to deliver a dynamic programme of donor cultivation and stewardship.
What are my responsibilities?
Fundraising

Manage the annual Major Gifts programme (Avant-Guardians and Artistic Director’s Circle), overseeing stewardship, retention and recruitment as well as the implementation of the five-year fundraising strategy of this income area.

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with own portfolio of major donors as the ‘Primary Worker’

Work with the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts to deliver special fundraising events for cultivating and stewarding Major Project Supporters and annual Major Gifts Supporters.

Work with the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts to identify and cultivate Major Project Supporter prospects from current Sadler’s Wells donors.

Support on administration of Major Project Support, including writing reports, gift agreements and stewardship touchpoints with donors.

Along with other team members, support administration of Sadler’s Wells America, our 501 (c)(3) US entity.
- Build strong relationships with other departments and project teams to foster a deep understanding of, fluency with, and confidence in talking about the work and vision of Sadler’s Wells and related disciplines.
- Recognise and exploit key crossovers exist between all income areas (e.g. Individual Giving/Corporate Giving/Sponsorship/Trusts and Foundations) and liaise with colleagues as appropriate to ensure best results.

We are a fast-moving nonprofit that makes donations to high-impact nature and climate charities simple – and we don’t take any fees. We’ve already mobilised nearly £2 million for top environmental solutions and are working to unlock at least £30 million annually by the end of the decade.
We are growing quickly: We expect annual fundraising to increase by 70% this year compared with last year.
The problem: Charities protecting our planet can turn the tide on climate change and nature loss. They have the skills, strategies and networks to deliver fast and global impact. But less than 2% of philanthropy goes to climate mitigation.
Our solution: In the UK alone, around £2 trillion sits with “HNW+” individuals – those holding between £100k and £30 million. Yet traditional philanthropy largely overlooks them. We’re unlocking this funding by offering trusted, pro bono advice and a simple, portfolio approach to giving. Our expertise in UK wealth advice offers a unique path to scalability and systems-change.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a confident, experienced fundraiser to lead major-gift fundraising — securing transformational gifts from high-net-worth individuals while building wealth-adviser relationships that generate referral leads. You’ll own the full pipeline: prospecting, cultivation, making direct asks, closing and stewardship.
The ideal candidate will be excited to cultivate networks of wealth managers, private-client teams and other advisers to HNWIs, and to convert adviser introductions into committed support. You’ll also prospect independently for major gifts outside those referral streams.
To succeed you’ll master three distinct fundraising pitches: a business case for advisers; an impact case to persuade donors to support our portfolio charities; and a systems-change case to win backing for GRP’s operating costs (salaries, office costs, etc) to keep the charity running fee-free.
You’ll be comfortable making direct asks for funding, with evidence of having closed high-value gifts or multi-year commitments. You’ll be willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with everyday cultivation tasks. You’ll thrive in a small team, taking initiative and juggling priorities. Crucially, you’ll care deeply about climate and nature.
Experience required:
Substantial experience in frontline major gifts fundraising (as a guide, likely 5+ years), or an exceptional track record in adjacent fields (private client advisory, philanthropy advisory, etc).

Main duties and responsibilities:
Major gifts to GRP’s portfolio of charities
- Prospect, cultivate and convert major gifts from individuals to support GRP’s charity portfolio.
- Act as principal point of contact for HNW client referrals from GRP’s wealth-adviser network.
- Source and qualify major gift leads outside the adviser network and add them to the pipeline.
- Prepare tailored cases for support, bespoke asks and gift agreements for portfolio donors.
- Coordinate with team to ensure timely, high-quality, bespoke stewardship.
HNW wealth adviser relationships
- Prospect, cultivate and manage relationships with wealth managers, family offices, private-client teams, philanthropy advisers, etc as a referral stream for GRP.
- Present GRP’s proposition to advisers (meetings, presentations, webinars) and design adviser-facing materials when necessary.
- Develop initiatives to generate adviser referrals (events, webinars, co-branded materials) and track referral performance.
- Target and visit high-potential jurisdictions (e.g. Jersey, Guernsey) and other adviser hubs (est. once per month).
Major gifts to GRP’s operating costs
- Prospect, cultivate and convert major gifts to GRP’s core operating costs.
- Prepare business-case and budget materials that explain the strategic case for core funding.
- Pursue appropriate institutional core funders (trusts, foundations, family foundations) and draft proposals where needed.
Location: Centrally located, light and airy office on Regent Street, London. Minimum one day per week in the office. Approx. one day London/UK travel per week.

The Senior Philanthropy Manager (Maternity Cover) will play a pivotal role in the delivery of its major donor programme. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role sits at the heart of the philanthropy team, combining hands-on major gifts fundraising with oversight of systems, processes and pipeline management. As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will:

- Act as a central coordinating figure for major donor activity, working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Development Director and selected Philanthropy Board members.
- Lead on the rollout of donor communications, including tailored donor stewardship and wider impact reporting.
- Work closely with other development colleagues who focus on the Hall’s Friends and Patrons programmes, Trust and Foundation approaches and Events.
Essential skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of managing and stewarding high-value individual donors, ideally within a major gifts or upper mid-value context.
- Experience of personally securing c.£50K+ donations from HNWIs – please ensure that examples of personally secured gifts from HNWIs, including £value, are included on your CV. It would also be helpful to include context e.g., uplift, new donor
- Confidence working with fundraising databases and systems (ideally Tessitura), and a strong understanding of GDPR and DPA 2018.
- Strong organisational and process skills, with the ability to keep complex, multi-strand activity moving and well-tracked.
- Experience of working collaboratively in a matrixed environment with senior stakeholders and volunteers.
- Some line management or mentoring experience, with the ability to provide clear direction and practical support. However, this is not a heavily people-management-focused role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging donors in a range of settings.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach, combined with sound judgement and professionalism.
Desirable:
- Arts, culture or heritage fundraising experience.
- Experience of working on or alongside a capital appeal.

Brief Outline of Job:
To lead and deliver donor stewardship and engagement strategies for major gifts (donor gifts of £100k+), scholarships (UG and PG), and legacy giving. This includes creating compelling donor communications, managing cultivation events, and developing stewardship plans that support repeat giving and long-term relationships.
Major Gifts: Support the cultivation and stewardship of donors giving £100k–£1M+, including designing and delivering bespoke impact reports for major donors, organizing donor meetings, campus visits and events in collaboration with the Major Gifts team.
Scholarships: Support the development of and delivery of our scholarship fundraising strategy, including producing promotional materials and annual donor reports. Liaise with colleagues across the University to ensure effective scholarship delivery and reporting.
Legacy Giving: Lead the development of a new legacy stewardship strategy, including the introduction of a new giving circle for legacy pledgers, conducting face-to-face meetings with potential legacy donors and creating promotional content and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

Main Duties
- Develop and implement the global philanthropy strategy as part of the overall fundraising strategy, liaising with senior leadership, programme leads, communications and finance to ensure ClientEarth can maximise the potential income from major donors.
- Develop, implement and achieve relevant KPIs and financial targets for the philanthropy team and lead on the production of appropriate reports for senior management and the board of trustees.

Purpose of the Role
The Head of Fundraising is a strategic leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate,
with overall responsibility for the strategy, delivery and performance of Breaking Barriers’ high-value
income portfolio. This includes corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, statutory funding, and
major gifts.
Breaking Barriers has grown into a national charity supporting over 1,300 refugees each year and
raising c.£3m annually. Income from corporate partners and philanthropic funders has been central to
this growth, with corporate partnerships integral to both income and the creation of meaningful
employment outcomes for our refugee clients. As the organisation enters its next strategic phase, the
priority is to develop national partnerships in line with a redesigned service model and build long-term
resilience across high-value income streams.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Head of Fundraising will translate organisational priorities into a
clear income strategy that delivers resilience and long-term relationship-led partnerships. They will
lead and support a team of senior fundraisers, each with lead responsibility for a defined income
stream, while maintaining personal involvement in a small number of priority, high-value relationships.
As a member of Breaking Barriers’ Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to
organisational leadership, culture and decision-making, and will help shape how we work with
responsible businesses, funders and partners to advance refugee employment in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
1. Income generation and external partnerships
Hold overall accountability for income delivery across corporate partnerships, trusts and
foundations, statutory funding, and major gifts / high-net-worth individuals.
Provide strategic oversight and direction to senior managers leading each income stream,
ensuring coherence, prioritisation and strong performance across the portfolio.
Maintain personal oversight of a small number of priority, high-value relationships, acting as
senior sponsor and external representative where appropriate.
Ensure a strong, diversified pipeline of prospective partners and donors aligned with
organisational priorities.

strategic leadership with hands-on fundraising delivery.

complex fundraising portfolio.

About the role
Reporting to the Senior Development Research Officer (SDRO), the Development Research Officer (DRO) plays a vital role in the University’s fundraising operation.
This is an appointment to a Development Researcher role, as outlined in the job description. The focus of this position will be on proactive prospect identification, prospect development, pool management, and due diligence.
You will be the responsible for identification of fantastic prospects, working on innovative prospecting projects, working with fundraisers to drive prospect relationships forward, ensuring our CRM is kept up to date with prospect data, producing informative and insightful donor profiles, conducting fundraiser pool reviews; and preparing due diligence papers.
You will have a passion for philanthropy and the desire to gain a deep understanding of our donor and prospect pools, as well as the many projects undertaken at the University. You will provide accurate and appropriate information relating to potential and current donors to the University, high net worth individuals, corporations and charitable foundations worldwide.
Working with colleagues, you will play a direct role in the University’s programme of identification and analysis of potential donors, deploying and enabling systems to support the documentation and management of such potential donors and suggesting tailored strategies to reach and engage such donors.
