What will you be doing?

• Supporting learners with self-care and independence skills such as eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet, managing incontinence, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.
   
• Ensuring learners' care files are kept up to date and accurate.
   
• At the start of each shift, reviewing communication and log books, and liaising with staff at handover to ensure learners' needs are well documented and addressed.
   
• Establish supportive relationships with learners and encourage the development of stable relationships.
   
• Promote the emotional health and self-esteem of learners and support them through changes in their living situation and personal circumstances.

• Accompanying learners into the community to take part in social and recreational activities such as bowling, cinema trips, and dining out, helping them build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences beyond the college setting.

My client is a globally recognised cultural and scientific institution welcoming millions of visitors to its sites. It’s work spans public engagement, scientific research and long-term stewardship of a collection of more than 80 million items.

The organisation is currently undertaking a major multi-year investment programme to ensure it can continue to deliver world-leading science, research and public engagement for the future. This includes infrastructure, modernising facilities, and improving how collections are stored, accessed and used.

As such they are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to support on the programme. Working closely with project teams, you will provide clear financial insight, modelling, and reporting to guide decision-making.

Key duties will include:

• Lead financial business partnering for programmes, including cashflow management and risk analysis.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, monthly reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Produce clear financial reports and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support programme teams with financial oversight of the project portfolio.
• Work with the Development team to support fundraising bids with accurate financial data.
• Share programme updates with the finance team to ensure alignment and knowledge flow.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong experience in finance business partnering. Comfortable with working outside of BAU, you will have excellent stakeholder management skills and be a proactive, self-motivated individual. Previous experience of working in the Not-for-Profit sector on capital projects would be an advantage but not essential.

Job Summary

The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:

• sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff. 
• ensure continuous operational improvement, working with SMT to develop our service and systems, through new projects or ways of working, and champion a learner-led approach to everything we do. 
• champion PiP meeting our regulatory and reporting requirements, manage key relationships including with local authorities, and hold budget responsibility across our service.

What You’ll Need

• Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.
• Significant experience of leading and managing a staff team.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities, including planning, progress monitoring and review.
• Experience of liaising with a wide network of agencies and sector professionals in support of student needs.
• Knowledge of national and local legislation and policy affecting people with learning disabilities, including personal budgets. Alongside knowledge of key legislation and processes including on Health & Safety and Risk Skills and abilities 
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports for a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Able to take a lead role in the implementation of major tasks, including contributing to the delivery of key performance management targets and making organisational and systems improvements.
• Able to manage and complete projects successfully, including delegating tasks and monitoring and evaluating progress against outcomes.
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships with a wide variety of professionals and carers both internally and externally.
• Able to liaise and work closely with student families, carers and other stakeholders in planning, implementing and monitoring support.

Purpose of the job

This role creates a positive impact for young people by managing partners through the effective delivery of our youth work programmes, delivering high quality facilitation and training and building excellent relationships across a region to contribute to improvements in our network offer.

Working with Project Mangers across Network Delivery, you will enable the effective delivery of our provision to the youth sector through effective contract management and support for partnerships with Delivery Partners and Grantees. You will deliver high quality training and facilitated sessions, translating curriculum and content into engaging and effective delivery. Working within a specific geographical location you will pro -actively build relationships with organisations and networks and foster connections that will help to unlock youth work for all young people. You will gather insights from across your region to feed into and contribute to the development of our offer to our network.

Key responsibilities

Programme delivery

• Account and contract management of relationships with a portfolio of Delivery Partners and Grantees within your geographical location

• Ensure that Delivery Partners and Grantees understand their programme and grant requirements and are successfully delivering against those

• Support Project Managers in coordinating and administering a range of project activities through the project lifecycle including contracting, onboarding, monitoring progress, event management and delivery and data collection

• Conduct visits to youth organisations engaged in our digital and physical delivery

Facilitation and training

• Deliver engaging and effective facilitation, training and events across both digital and physical platforms.

• Translate curriculum, content and workforce development tools into impactful delivery for youth workers and young people across both digital and physical platforms.

Network Development

• Build knowledge of the provision of support for young people in your geographical location to enable you to act as an effective relationship builder, networker and connector

• Actively engage individuals, organisations and specific networks that can support development of our delivery (e.g., employment networks, regional infrastructure organisations, Violence Reduction Networks)

• Facilitate Delivery and Grantee networks and collaboration spaces as per the requirements of our youth work provision and network offer

• Engage Delivery Partners and Grantees with our network offer and facilitate the embedding of our youth development content and workforce support tools

Experience We're After

The postholder will manage our membership of groundwater professionals, support them and our core staff with their various deployments on humanitarian and development projects, manage the promotion of the organisation through external communications, social media, website and events, and provide administrative support to the Project Board.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Support

• Act as the first point of contact for members, ensuring effective communication and timely responses.
• Maintain and update the membership database and records.
• Develop initiatives to strengthen member engagement and professional exchange.
• Support members, and staff, with arrangements for overseas assignments, including pre deployment coordination (including insurance, risk assessment form, medical forms, code of conduct, partner administrative requirements) and logistics (flights, accommodation), general support during their assignments and post deployment review.

Public Relations Support

• Lead on the organisation’s external communications, including managing social media content.
• Oversee and update website content including members updates and case studies.
• Draft newsletters, press releases, and other external communications to promote the organisation’s work.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and media contacts.
• Organise and coordinate events, workshops, and conferences that engage the GWR membership.

Administrative Support

• Provide direct administrative support to the CEO, Grants Manager, Finance Manager and Technical Team Lead.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Good level of education, with the skills to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Demonstrable experience in administration and have strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, and alter priorities as required.
• Ability to build working relationships with a wide range of people, especially those whose first language may not be English.
• Demonstrated ability in managing social media accounts and web content.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with digital platforms.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a small team.

You will be proactive and comfortable in communicating independently, while drawing on the expertise of others to inform your approach.
