The Helen Bamber Foundation, founded in 2005 by the pioneering human rights advocate Helen Bamber, was created to reflect the evolving global patterns of violence and persecution. Helen Bamber, who entered Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945 as part of one of the first rehabilitation teams, recognised that all survivors of extreme violence—regardless of the perpetrator—require safety, legal protection, and medical and emotional support. Today it is a specialist clinical and human rights charity that works with people seeking asylum and refugees who are Survivors of trafficking, torture and other forms of extreme human cruelty.

In 2020,  the Helen Bamber Foundation joined forces with Asylum Aid (established in 1990) to form the Group. Asylum Aid specialises in providing legal representation to vulnerable individuals seeking asylum, focusing on the most complex cases including survivors of trafficking, children, and stateless people. Asylum Aid is a leading actor in strategic litigation and advocates for policy and systemic changes to remove barriers to protection and justice. Asylum Aid maximises its impact by providing training and working in partnership with other organisations.

Today, the Helen Bamber Foundation's unique Model of Integrated Care (MoIC) provides holistic support encompassing therapy, legal advocacy, medical treatment, and practical assistance, helping survivors rebuild their lives with safety, freedom, and dignity. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

Having moved into our new Trauma Centre last year, we are now looking for our first Office Manager, to coordinate and ensure that our office space and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and secure environment. They will have overall ownership of the office with regards to the day to day running and ensuring health and safety compliance, and with the support of a Facilities and Operations Assistant, they will ensure our staff and clients are able to enjoy a safe and comfortable environment.

In 2023, YWF trained a group of young people as researchers, empowering them to lead the way in understanding the challenges and opportunities facing Westminster’s young people.  Their work shaped our flagship report Our City. Our Future. which highlighted the urgent need for young people to be able to confidently shape their futures.

As a result of these findings, we collaborated with an additional group of young people to co-create Power UP! – a whole framework of opportunities providing training, mentorship, internships, youth associate roles and trusteeships to ensure youth voices are central to shaping decisions in both our organisation and in Westminster as a whole.

• YEP! - 3-month engagement and skills development programme that uses external facilitators to help develop young participants skills in key areas of YWF's work.
•  YWF Youth Associates – A team of paid young consultants that we support to contribute to the work of YWF e.g. grants, research, public speaking – as well as brokering opportunities from external businesses and institutions looking for contributions from young people.  
• Trusteeships & Leadership Opportunities – Ensuring young people are embedded and influential in our governance and strategy.
• Mentorship, Training & Internships – Internal opportunities building pathways into further employment.

As Youth Voice & Engagement Manager, you will work with our Youth Voice Consultant, the team and young people to take a hands-on role in delivering, expanding and embedding these initiatives.

Your Role

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Coordinate Power UP! - Plan, manage, and deliver activities including youth-led research, grant-making, internships and leadership opportunities.
• Run YEP! (Youth Empowerment Pathway) – Oversee this 3-month, 8-session programme, supporting external facilitators and guiding participants toward deeper engagement with and understanding of YWF.
• Mentor Youth Associates – Recruit, train and support young consultants leading change within YWF and their communities.
• Design & Deliver Workshops – Use a range of methods (including coordinating external facilitators) to engage young people, particularly those facing barriers such as language or social exclusion.
• Embed Well-being, Creativity & Inclusivity – Ensure activities support young people’s mental health, confidence and ability to participate meaningfully- and use creativity where appropriate.
• Safeguarding & risk assessments – Ensure safeguarding of young people is front and centre to our work.

Youth Engagement & Inclusion

• Embed Co-Production – Involve young people at all stages of programme design, delivery, and evaluation.
• Consult with Young People – Regularly engage with youth groups, ensuring Power UP! reflects their needs and aspirations.
• Strengthen Partnerships – Work with the Membership Manager to build strong relationships with member organisations to increase access and engagement.
• Support an Intern – Recruit and work alongside a youth voice and engagement intern, providing mentorship and hands-on experience.

Amplifying Youth Voice & YWF’s Work

• Showcase our Initiatives and Young People’s Achievements – Collaborate with the Business Development Lead and Comms and Engagement Director to share young people’s successes via digital and in-person platforms.
• Represent YWF at different public and professional settings, events and opportunities around youth voice, showcasing our work and approach.
• Champion Youth-Led Change – Work with the team to advocate for young people’s involvement in governance and policy within YWF and across Westminster.

Programme Management & Evaluation

• Measure Impact – Work with the Youth Voice Consultant and Evaluation and Data Specialist to use creative evaluation techniques to track the outcomes of Power UP!, ensuring activities lead to meaningful change.
• Manage Logistics – Oversee scheduling, coordination and reporting for all programme activities.
• Manage payments and budgets – manage an activities budget for the YEP! Programme, including overseeing facilitator costs and payments for young people

Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual who is passionate about collaboration and community-led change. If you believe in the power of strong, connected communities, this role is for you. You will need good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships, and inspire collaboration, which is essential in creating positive, lasting change.

As a Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for managing a mixed portfolio of supporters with a view to growing this pool to deliver a mixture of revenue which can sustain and grow our ambitions and work. This will involve taking responsibility for nurturing and growing an existing philanthropic pool of funders whilst identifying, cultivating and mapping new high value opportunities, in excess of £75k. For your portfolio you will manage donor acquisition strategies, proposal writing and stewardship and supporter journey planning. 

The role involves securing funding from various sources, including trusts, corporations, and individuals, to support the charity’s mission. This includes developing and maintaining strong donor relationships, managing a portfolio of donors, and managing fundraising pipelines.

The ideal candidate will therefore be proactive, results-driven, and skilled in developing insight-led strategies, managing solicitations, along with the ability to create processes, gather insights, and propose budgets. You’ll be passionate about continuous improvement, have a proactive attitude and be comfortable in suggesting new and/or better ways of working. You’ll enjoy a challenging and fulfilling environment, working with a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Key Objectives:

• As a member of the Fundraising team, you will work across all parts of the fundraising process, from prospect research all the way through to the fundraising ask.

• You will work collaboratively within the Fundraising team and the wider organisation to develop compelling fundraising proposals for corporate donors, high net worth individuals, community appeals and trusts and foundations. 

• You will seek out and identify patterns of prospect and funder data and behaviours which inform our growth and generate ideas and solutions

Fundraising Objectives:

• Develop a high value pipeline of prospects and funders which has a balanced approach across acquisition, retention and uplift to meet team targets and which provides the best supporter experience.

• Manage a personal portfolio through all stages of the fundraising cycle, within an overall fundraising team target, demonstrating an understanding of how to mitigate risk, maximise return on investment and give a focus to unrestricted income generation.

• Manage and cultivate prospect and funder relationships in their entirety, with responsibility for planning briefings, proposal writing, stakeholder engagement, reporting, stewardship, delivery, and evaluation.

• Research, prepare, and submit high-quality grant applications to charitable trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies utilising different funder approaches including bids, applications, proposals and EOIs, all delivering high-quality experiences and materials to secure funding. 

• Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising activities and grant applications, providing regular updates to the management team.

• Plan and write bespoke engagement plans (e.g. stewardship reports), including report-writing and impact analysis, and coordinating event and PR milestone activities.

• Work with internal & external stakeholders to develop new projects and ensure donor requirements and engagement opportunities are met.

Team and Operational Objectives:

• Help colleagues and supporters overcome any challenges and maximise their fundraising efforts.

• Manage your time and workload, and utilise our given processes, systems, and parameters to overcome barriers

• Support funder account management and compliance through planning, financial budgeting, and record keeping.

Experience (essential)

• Experience in a charity fundraising role.

• A successful track record of building strong internal and external relationships and generating income from a broad range of funders

• Experience in fundraising preferably from Trust and Foundations; both family, corporate and individual, and partnership bid development.

• Experience in all aspects of donor cultivation (research, writing, follow-up, and stewardship), required

• Experience closing gifts at the six-figure level, including complex gifts using a variety of giving vehicles

• Pipeline development and management thereof, to ensure multi year planning and team financial target contributions are reflected.

We are looking to fill two Research Programme Manager roles who will be responsible for delivering against and developing our Research and Cancer Research Strategies and looking after a large, diverse portfolio of grants.

Salary
The salary for this position is £47,674 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of 2 days in the office per week. 

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate. 

Key Responsibilities

The role will include a mixture of fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding, and working closely with applicants to shape large-scale strategic research initiatives.  Each role will be responsible for a different area of our research portfolio, as follows:

• Role 1: Delivering discovery and translational research funding, including a national large-scale programmatic research funding scheme. 
• Role 2: Delivering clinical research funding, including a new national paediatric cancer clinical trial funding scheme. Specific expertise in clinical trial funding is desirable for this role. 

As we are hiring for two positions, we will assess your suitability for both the above roles throughout the hiring process. 

• The post holders will need to be team players with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a willingness to go above and beyond. 
• The successful candidates will be able to work independently and confidently to take projects forward and develop important relationships with both external and internal senior stakeholders across the hospital, Great Ormond Street Institute for Child Health (GOS ICH), the Charity, our scientific and clinical advisors, and other external organisations nationally.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and/or research management experience and be able to operate independently to develop and take projects forward. You will be confident developing excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.

Specifically, you will have:

• Strong research grants management experience with experience leading on the planning and delivery of grant funding initiatives
• Experience of supporting high level decision-making committees including writing papers and briefs, presenting to committees, and minute writing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• An advanced research degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent work experience

You’ll have experience in line management or have led a similar-sized marketing team, so you’re comfortable providing support and guidance to develop people and help them achieve their KPIs. As a small team, you’ll be comfortable being hands-on and able to deliver impact with limited resources.

You’ll take the lead on developing concepts for campaigns to achieve our goals and support your team to deliver projects that optimise and improve our channels. Opportunity Identification and Market Research 

· Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships that align with organisational goals, including new membership opportunities.

· Deliver on existing opportunities and identify new ones, including sponsorship activities for events, projects, programmes, work, events and conferences, and smaller strategic roundtables.

Negotiation and Contract Management 

· Lead detailed negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favourable terms for both parties, and oversee contract management to ensure compliance and performance monitoring.

Collaboration and Project Management 

· Work closely with internal colleagues to align partnership initiatives with business objectives, managing execution to ensure initiatives align with organisational priorities. 

· Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate campaigns and promotional events effectively.

Performance Tracking and Financial Management 

· Monitor and analyse partnership performance, using data to refine strategies and maximise impact. Prepare regular updates on business development activities and partnership outcomes. 

· Prepare budgets and financial forecasts related to business development activities, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of initiatives and partnerships.

Networking and Representation 

· Represent the organisation at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote business development initiatives and cultivate a strong professional network for future partnerships.

Vision: Christ In Youth's (CIY) heart is to call young people to Christ and into a life of Kingdom Work through His Church across Europe. 

Project-Y is a new outworking of our vision where we plan to place youth workers in local churches all over Ireland. We aim to help young people across Ireland have easy access to a Christian faith forming community. Rolling out Project-Y takes significant time and financial investment, especially as we are providing seed funding for placing youth workers, alongside intensive support when they are palced in churches.

This summer we have a unique opportunity to platform the story of Project-Y in the USA. We need someone to take a leading role in the management and delivery of this incredibly exciting fundraising campaign. This will give us access to approximately 73,000 young people and leaders across 900+ individual churches. This is an unprecedented exposure to potential supporters, partners, and donors.

With your skill base and expertise, could you help us to maximise this opportunity?

The Campaign Manager will drive and catalyse the support base required to propel Project-Y forward. We know this opportunity offers a concentrated pipeline to financial sustainability, both in regard to immediate one-off donations, but also longer-term multi-year support.

We have the front facing ask of the campaign in place. However, the missing piece is someone to manage and utilise the best systems and communication techniques to make sure the back-end processing of the campaign is smooth and seemless. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for donor stewardship, supporter segmentation, ongoing communication, optimising databases processes and increasing engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program. 

The Campaign Manager will have excellent expereince in donor management, skilled in automated and relational communications, and ideally is passionate about youth ministry. Someone who understands church partnerships, and excels in campaign management and especially the execution. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage communications for this campaign Develop appropriate donor communication strategy and suitable platform engagement for each of the three calls of action: young people, leaders and churches. 

• Organise segment-based communications to keep supporters and those interested with the campaign informed and engaged.
• Implement a systematic donor stewardship plan, ensuring timely acknowledgment of gifts, personalised appreciation, and impact reporting to reinforce the value of their contributions.
• Gather and share stories of young people, churches, and youth leaders impacted by Project-Y.
• Segment churches into Major, Mid-Level, and General categories based on their giving capacity and engagement level.
• Develop a tiered engagement structure that aligns with these segments, providing churches of all sizes with meaningful opportunities to contribute while offering deeper engagement and exclusive experiences to those with the highest giving capacity.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in donor stewardship and fundraising.

Miscellaneous:

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing over £3.5m income from individuals and groups fundraising through mass participation events including The London Marathon, International Marathons, The Great North Run, Threshold Events and more!

As one of two Sporting Event Managers, you will join a busy and successful team of 10 responsible for the delivery and optimisation of our events portfolio. We are looking for an exceptional individual, who will lead on the planning, project management and delivery of ARUK’s flagship third-party events, including London Landmarks, Own Place in Event Fundraising and challenge events.

This is a line management role, currently responsible for 4 direct reports and the strategic oversight of the events they manage. You will work closely with the other Sporting Event Manager to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the event calendar year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience, with an overall goal of maximising income for dementia research.

You will be an integral part of the SLF Managers Team, helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure. The role is managed by the Head of Sporting Events & Volunteering (HoSV).

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line Management

· Line management of the high performing 2x Sporting Events Officers and 2x Sporting Events Executives; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider Sporting Events Team, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

· Monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. volunteering, RFO’s and wider SLF.

· Support your direct line reports in their development, helping them to spot opportunities for growth.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Manage the Sporting team’s income and expenditure budget, including monthly reporting, and supporting HoSV with monthly reforecasts, and annual budget and operational plan setting.

· Review participation and income against event targets to track impact, ROI and cost income ratio and report back to HoSV regularly.

· Ensure the fundraising CRM (salesforce) is being used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.

· Use data insights and trends to support the HoSV in budgeting, forecasting and event portfolio reviews.

· Continue to review and be willing to change Sporting Event Team processes and contribute to wider organisational process changes where necessary.

· Support the embedding of our CRM system: Salesforce, including writing processes and ensuring CRM best practice across the team.

Relationship Management

· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with our third-party event providers and identify new opportunities and ensure all avenues are being optimised for ARUK.

· Identify and steward alongside the Regional Fundraising Officers’ high-value supporters to ensure we are spotting opportunities beyond their current event.

· Work collaboratively within SLF, to ensure all fundraising opportunities are shared and communicated and resources are available.

· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to brief in marketing requirements, share trends, learnings, and results to optimise future activities.

· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments and work together as a management team to support on the strategic direction of ARUK, as well as deliver any tactical projects.

· Support and consult with any cross functional teams to deliver our third-party events portfolio.

Strategy & Operational Planning

· Work in consultation with the HoSV to develop the sporting events strategy and annual tactical plan for ARUK to continue to build income in this area.

· Work with HoSV to further develop our events strategy for 2026 onwards.

· Stay abreast of sector sporting events activity to ensure effective positioning and marketing of events.

Stewardship and Supporter experience:

· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for sporting event participants including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them- whether that be email, phone, face to face or SMS. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals with the charity and future cross-sell asks.

· Attend third-party events and oversee appropriate staff and volunteer representation to give the maximum brand presence and give the supporters the best possible event day experience e.g. Cambridge Half, London Marathon, London Landmarks, Great North Run and any other events where we need staff.

· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practise, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.

· Work with Regional Fundraising Officers, Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to pass over warm and relevant supporters at the best points in their individual stewardship journeys.

· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our sporting events participants and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.

The Restored Beacon Network is a national network of churches that provide a place of welcome and safety for those who have experienced domestic abuse. Beacon churches partner with us to receive training, guidance and resources so that they can effectively support survivors in their congregations and communities, shining a light in the darkness of domestic abuse and journeying with them on the road to recovery. 

The Restored Beacon Network manager will work with the CEO to grow and develop this important network of churches. You will meet and recruit new church partners and walk them through the journey to becoming a Restored Beacon and beyond. This will involve meeting with church leadership, assessing their readiness to become a Beacon, arranging a training schedule, and supporting Restored Beacon Co-ordinators. You'll care for our church partners, providing spiritual, emotional and practical support to them as they work at the front line of supporting survivors. Relationship management is a key part of this role, not only with each individual Restored Beacon coordinator but also in facilitating peer support across the network.

· Manage grants from existing trusts and foundations, ensuring grant requirements are met, and reports are on time, accessible and demonstrate impact.

· Manage the trusts and foundations pipeline, keeping up to date records at all times.

3. Database management (20% of time)

· Ensure the CRM supports funding monitoring purposes and staff can use it for this purpose.

· Continually champion and develop the CRM so that it is accessible to all staff and meets the requirements of all teams.

· Work with the Communications and Engagement team to put in place good stewardship of members, advice service users and other contacts via the CRM.

· Put in place supporter journeys that provide excellent stewardship.

4. Wider fundraising (10% of time)

· Explore, test and evaluate wider fundraising opportunities. This could include appeals, corporate fundraising, events, individual giving and legacy giving.

· Support the Training, Research and Consultancy team with bid and proposal writing on an ad hoc basis.

5. General (at all times)

· Undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are in line with the general level of this post and as instructed.

· Undertake occasional evening and weekend work as required, and take responsibility for arranging time off in lieu with your manager.

· Line manage and supervise members, contractors and staff as required.

· Work within the Social Model of Disability.

· Work in adherence to Transport for All’s values and staff policies.

· Maintain confidentiality.

· Attend staff meetings as needed.

Skills

We’re looking for someone who:

· Has experience of fundraising, particularly from trusts and foundations, preferably including significant, multi-year grants

· Has strong research skills and enjoys identifying funders and their priorities

· Can construct realistic budgets and work with colleagues to craft project proposals

· Has a track record of securing funds for social justice causes

· Has excellent persuasive, value-based communication skills, both written and verbal

· Understands data protection and fundraising compliance and good practice

· Understands the potential for a good CRM to add value, and is confident about helping other team members to use a database to help their work

· Can manage a mixed workload with conflicting priorities

· Has strong organisational and time management skills

· Has a commitment to and understanding of the social model of disability, and disability justice

As our Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager, you will put people in Yorkshire at the heart of everything you do, unite with colleagues and other organisations in this cause, and dare to think big and bold to make positive solutions happen.

The Role

As our Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will be responsible for stock control and stock movement between our Donation Centre and Warehouse and organising deliveries for van drivers to take stock to our shops. This should all be done in accordance with all health and safety regulations. The sorting of donations quickly and efficiently is a fundamental part of this role, and it is expected that a significant proportion of working time will be spent doing this.

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will support the management of the volunteer team; the organisation of the weekly logistics, communication to the retail teams regarding their deliveries, and ensuring that any requests for specific stock or returns are well managed.

Specifically, you will:

• Lead the team of employees and volunteers to quickly and efficiently sort donated stock.
• Be responsible for ensuring that donated stock is stored appropriately and safely.
• Identify if any specific donated stock suits the profile/demographics of specific shops in the retail network and ensure that those items are ringfenced and delivered in a timely manner to maximise income for the charity.
• Support the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) in managing the daily running of the Donation Centre and warehouse, maintaining policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for planning and administering the weekly logistics, to ensure stock is collected and delivered to the network of shops, and to plan for collections from donors’ homes.
• Support the management of the volunteer rota on a weekly basis to ensure that both the Donation Centre and warehouse are fully operational during opening hours, and minimise lone working.
• Support the management of Donation Centre and warehouse volunteers: This will include recruiting, inducting, managing, motivating, and training to ensure a positive working environment.
• Play an active role as the Duty Manager for the building that you are in, in line with the expectations and requirements of the Business Continuity Plan, and run the site in line with brand standards, and the applicable charity policies and procedures.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal.
• To be ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• To have experience of managing people and volunteers including recruitment and development.
• To have previous experience in a warehouse or distribution role, ideally within a retail or charity environment.
• To have commercial awareness to help build and drive sales coupled with the determination and motivation to help build and drive our retail distribution network.
• To have knowledge and experience of effective stock rotation and management.
• To have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• To be highly organised with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
• To be able to react to quickly changing dynamics and flexibility.
• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and nurture talent.
• To be able to work on-site in our Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre, Hornbeam Park, Harrogate and Manse Lane, Knaresborough.
• A willingness and ability to travel across the Yorkshire region as required.
• A willingness to complete our pre-employment checks (to be undertaken once the role is offered and accepted) which include:
• A check on your employment history, by seeking 2 references
• A check on your eligibility to work in the UK as per the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
• A DBS check at an enhanced with childrens’ barred list level due to the requirement to supervise and train Donation Centre volunteers between the ages of 14 – 18 years old.
