Working as an integral part of the ED Navigator team, our successful candidate will identify and assess young victims of violence and provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.

You will produce support and risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, which will include providing practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options and appearing in court. We will also count on you to develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies and to close cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support.

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team
• Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services

• To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
• A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area

About the role:

We are looking for Night Support Assistants to join our dedicated Youth Services team, supporting young people aged 16 and over in Lewisham and Greenwich. Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service Limited, known as LDHAS, is a registered charity and they have been working with street homeless and vulnerably housed people for over 32 years. They provide essential needs support, advice and information, from their centre in Lancaster with additional support from visiting partner agencies like Citizens Advice, Changing Futures, SafeNet, Calico, Red Rose Recovery, the Hep C Trust and Inspire.

The Role

The post holder will provide an engagement service with neighbours, the local community, visiting professionals and the clients, volunteers and staff of LDHAS in line with its aims and objectives.

The postholder will have lived experiences which support the work of LDHAS. They will have up to date knowledge of key stakeholders, support networks and agencies. They will liaise and engage with a variety of homeless hub organisations as required.

The postholder will support LDHAS clients, motivating and enabling clients as they engage with LDHAS and advocating for them as appropriate. The postholder will create a psychologically safe environment for clients enabling the completion of dynamic assessments, share information about LDHAS services and triage clients enabling them to access the services offered by key stakeholders including those organisations supporting the LDHAS hub in order to support individual needs. They will support clients with clothing, shower and laundry facilities. 

The postholder will coordinate the engagement aspect of day to day running of the centre, including the attendance of clients and the management of donations and footfall in the building. They will ensure that health and safety protocols and procedures are maintained throughout the building during the hours of opening, alert to safeguarding and ensuring procedures followed.

They will ensure that good relations are maintained with the neighbours of LDHAS and with the local community. They will ensure that LDHAS clients in the immediate vicinity of the building are conducting themselves in an acceptable way.

Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years. 

We are excited to be looking for a Young Adults Peer Support Worker. You will have your own lived experience of mental ill health and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge, to support others.

With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We will be offering holistic and personalised care and support to service users and carers.

This role will carry caseload and deliver a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed. Referrals could be young adults, careleavers, people currently under adult mental health services, or carers supporting people in the community.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicants will have the skills to provide person-centred support, through one-to-one sessions and through facilitating groups. Blue Cross animal hospitals and pet care clinics provide veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees. Our vet care is available to pets whose owners receive certain means-tested benefits and live within the catchment area of one of our animal hospitals or pet care clinics.

Sports Development Officer 

Remote based in North West England

Fixed term contract: Initial 12-month period with potential to extend. 

Job Purpose: 

To lead and support the planning, delivery, and promotion of local sporting initiatives within the North West Regional Hub. The Sports Development Officer will focus on increasing participation, improving access to sport, and strengthening partnerships with National Governing Bodies, community groups, clubs, and Local Authorities.

Are you enthusiastic in sharing your passion for ecology? Can you bring conservation to life, engaging mixed ability groups in playing an active role in encouraging nature and wildlife in an urban area? The Talbot Village Trust has an exciting opportunity for a new post of Conservation Volunteer Co-ordinator to deliver community volunteering schemes in our woodland in Wallisdown.

Following successful volunteering schemes over the last two winters, we’re keen to develop our conservation volunteer scheme, inviting local residents, university students and ad hoc corporate groups to experience practical conservation firsthand, and learn more about the ecology of this space. Led by our woodland management plan and ecology surveys, the work will help measurably enrich the biodiversity of the woodland, sharing conservation techniques and improving understanding of the ecology with our volunteers and the wider public.

This post is held within a small and developing team within the charity, aiming to build closer relationships between our local community, the land we steward and the wildlife living here. The role will be supported by other members of our staff team and our deeply committed trustees.

The successful candidate will work with volunteers of all ages, including supervised secondary school groups, and will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. To ensure our scheme is accessible, this role will offer volunteering sessions at weekends, as well as during the week.

Key responsibilities:

• Designing and supervising volunteer conservation sessions
• Design and deliver a programme of engaging and well managed woodland maintenance volunteering tasks, based on a programme averaging 3 sessions each week, that will bring about meaningful biodiversity changes
• Contribute to establishing and undertake measurements to monitor the impact of the changes that are made, including by conducting wildlife surveys, setting up the recording on national databases where appropriate. These will supplement the professional surveying already in place.
• Ensuring all activities are fully risk assessed, taking into account the needs and abilities of each volunteer, and the daily and changing conditions
• Establish and support cohesive groups of volunteers, bringing together people of different backgrounds to form welcoming social groups, increasing the number and range of people volunteering with us
• Engage in national best practice in supporting conservation volunteers
• Supporting our engagement with local communities
• Promote our volunteering opportunities, re-engaging last year’s volunteers and recruiting new members, particularly among groups from diverse backgrounds
• Create and deliver citizen science activities, inviting volunteers and woodland visitors to add to their and our understanding of the ecology here

• Undertake administration for the project including, but not limited to: maintaining accurate event records, work programmes, risk assessments, evaluation spread sheets, financial reports and outcome reports.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

• Experience of developing and leading outdoor conservation volunteering sessions or similar, including producing and maintaining thorough risk assessments
• Knowledge of woodland ecology and appropriate approaches to increase biodiversity
• Experience of woodland conservation techniques including tool care and safety
• Experience of working with mixed groups, including families, corporate teams and people with additional needs
• Strong relationship building and relationship management skills

The Talbot Village Trust is a charity with a vision for communities in south-east Dorset to live well. We exist to support people to transform their own lives for the better. We do this by providing grants to charities and other local impact organisations delivering much needed services in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Purbeck and east Dorset. We also manage an estate combining the historic Talbot Village, residential and commercial lettings, woodland, and an urban heath. We have distributed over £10 million in funds through 650 awards across south-east Dorset over the past decade.

Your Role as a Fundraiser for Hope for Southall Street Homeless

You will secure £210,000 p.a. to cover the running costs of HSSH.  This will include the salaries of five staff, grant-funding for emergency/ temporary accommodation for guests who wish to return to their home country (currently covered by a Government grant at 100%) and other running costs (eg insurance) and overheads (eg Third Sector body fees). 

Your responsibilities will include : 

Trusts

• To conduct an initial audit of existing Trust and Foundation donors to maintain and maximise potential income from these donors.
• To carry out prospect research using Fundsonline and other established Trust directories to identify new prospective donors.
• To establish a calendar-based pipeline showing submitted and planned applications, with required updates (including scheduled date, name, projected amount, and next action), to ensure timely and targeted applications and follow-up communications with donors (both existing and prospective).
• To monitor and respond to local and wider appropriate grant opportunities.

Corporates

• To scope local and wider district and borough opportunities for corporate partnerships, starting with warm contacts and existing donor networks.
• To build natural, face-to-face, contact and foster deep relationships with new corporate partners.
• To maintain a pipeline (as above) of corporate donors, prospects, communications, and planned approaches.

Community / Individuals

• To work with local community organisations and individuals, including those already engaged with/interested in HSSH and others, to raise awareness of the service, increase existing support, and generate new forms of support.
• To represent/showcase the work of HSSH through local events and forums, emphasising the need for, and the impact of, the service.
• In cooperation with the Social Media Management Group, to produce/ contribute to shared material/social posts profiling HSSH’s work and value, to the community, borough and wider bodies relative to our work.

Who We Are Hope for Southall Street Homeless (HSSH) is a charity founded in 2015 to provide a permanent night shelter in Southall.  The need for this was identified by the Churches in Southall Leadership Team – at the time part of the wider Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter initiative – due to the high number of rough sleepers in Southall, at the time, over 31% of all Ealing’s rough sleepers.

The Ancient Tree Forum (ATF) is seeking a motivated and organised Technical and Engagement Officer to join our small, friendly and flexible team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a charity dedicated to safeguarding the UK’s ancient and veteran trees, along with their wildlife, heritage and cultural values. 

This role is vital to achieving our strategic outcomes by providing expert technical advice, supporting and collaborating with the Technical Advisory Panel to develop authoritative guidance and publications. You will act as a key contact for public and stakeholder enquiries and contribute technical expertise to ATF’s communications across our website, newsletter, social media and press activity. 

You will engage with sector networks, collaborate with partners and support strategic messaging. This role will help strengthen the charity’s visibility and impact in ancient and veteran tree conservation and protection.
