Purpose of the Consultancy
The consultant will develop a guidance document that helps companies navigate responsible disengagement (including order reduction and exit strategies) and engagement within global sourcing strategies. The document will be practical and accessible to both commercial/buying teams and ethical trade/human rights professionals. It will align with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and ETI’s frameworks on responsible purchasing, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and just transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a benchmarking exercise on existing frameworks and identify remaining gaps.
- Develop a 20–30 page technical guidance for brands, with case studies and examples of good practice.
- Incorporate considerations such as climate-related sourcing shifts, geopolitical change (e.g. tariffs), and responsible purchasing practice requirements.
- Lead two consultation workshops with ETI stakeholders and brand members.
- Finalise and present the guidance following feedback and stakeholder input.

About the role
Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to spinal cord injured (SCI) people and their region of the UK.
The post coordinates two vital parallel strands:
- In your region, to reach and support newly and long-term spinal cord injured people and their families developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to SCI people with more complex support needs.
- Nationally, working to facilitate the link between SCI people and SIA and the network of services; referring SCI people and their families to our clinical / health expert support teams and advocacy services; working with the Digital Engagement team to build on-line links to regional partners in your area; supporting fundraising, campaigns and communications.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Building strong relationships – you’ll be talking to everyone from people with SCI and their families, to healthcare professionals, solicitors and partners who deliver key services.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Key areas of focus will include:
• Supporting young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with and recognizing their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth work and being a positive role model. Encourage young people to take an active role in social action projects, youth voice and young leader activities
• Working together with the team in planning and delivery of full program offer, including evening youth club sessions and off-site educational visits, including to our outdoor centre in Cumbria with occasional over night stays. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities such as twilight sessions, youth voice, targeted group work and mentoring
• Identify formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and help to plan a positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of young people
• Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reports.
• Attend occasional weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage young people to get involved. Support the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities at local venues
• Comply with all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of young people is promoted and prioritized. Report any concerns and participate in regular safeguarding training
• Represent GMYF at events and meeting with partner agencies. Ensure conduct is professional and represents the charity in a positive manner to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of local partners and community organisations
• Commit to continuous professional development with own training, accessing available training including youth work specific courses
• Carry out all duties with the scope of the role as directed with due diligence and professionalism
About You
We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission, values, and are experienced in working with young people. You will be able and confident in building positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have experience planning and delivering activities, bringing creative and innovative ideas to share for young people. You will have good team working and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

We are looking for a new Strategy and Fundraising Lead who has a track record of successful fundraising to open up new income streams by building exciting projects informed by our community members’ vision. - our inspiring and community-building events such as Open Mics and our annual Celebrate Seed Studios event

Our activities involve a diverse range of local people, including neurodivergent people, and individuals with varying levels of wellbeing and mental health. We help them identify and realise their goals for better social connections, wellbeing and creativity. We support them to attend our activity with others, share and connect through music. These people form and shape our Seed Studios community.
In 2025, we enable 88 hours of free volunteer-led sessions every month with a footfall of over 200 people as well as 24 hours of free, 1-to-1 music tuition support for referrals from our health partners every month.
