The Marketing and Communications Department
Battersea’s Marketing & Communications department is responsible for communicating the breadth of the organisation’s work in an engaging and memorable way. Though our award-winning campaigns, we use our influence to affect change for dogs and cats within and beyond our gates; building Battersea’s reputation on a national and international scale. Our work involves everything from innovative integrated advertising campaigns to rehome our animals, to supporting other departments with their strategic objectives. We also manage Battersea’s online communities, offer brand guidance, deliver innovative digital activity, and manage internal communications, ensuring that staff and volunteers stay informed and engaged. Hybrid working policy

Oak Housing is a For-Profit Registered Provider offering a range of affordable housing solutions to Local Authorities and NHS Trusts in London and the South East. Since being acquired in 2019 by a consortium of real estate professionals and the current management team and organisation has grown from 200 to almost 1000 units and have ambitious plans to triple in size over the next 3 years. The Finance Director will sit alongside the Operations Director and report into the CEO. The role is responsible for overseeing all financial activities for the organisation, whilst offering critical strategic direction. The internal finance function is growing, and the organisation needs more strategic involvement at the director level. Main responsibilities of the role:

The key duties of this Deputy Director of Donor Finance are as follows:

About the Foundation:
The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.
Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.
The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme. It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.
- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.
- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.
- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.
This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. Overview of the Role
As Communications Director, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Crisis Action’s unique model of campaigning by driving maximum innovation and impact in our campaigns; communicating Crisis Action’s story in new and compelling ways to our diverse network of partners and donors; and by building allies and creative coalitions globally. We are looking for an exceptional changemaker who is an all-in-one storyteller, strategic communicator, newshound, and mentor, with the ability to ensure maximum innovation and impact in our campaigns and communications for the protection of civilians from conflict.
This is not a typical Communications Director role. About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and versatile finance professional to play a leading strategic role in the continuing development of our North London schools.
The Regional Finance Director will provide the overall leadership and management for all aspects of finance to Ark Schools in the North London region. The role will be focussed on ensuring processes are embedded across all schools; supporting schools new to the network (or with new staff structures) with transition as well as leading, with regard to finance, on strategic projects within the schools.

Key Responsibilities:
- To be a member of the Ark Central Finance Team, ensuring that the network financial strategies and processes are being carried out at all North London schools, including those planning to join the network

- To assist with finance requirements for transitioning new schools to the network, including systems set-up, staff training and implementation of policies & procedures

· Negotiate project timelines and gather input from colleagues to design project plans.
· Serve as a thought partner to SPAs on donor strategies.

About the Role
The Policy and Advocacy Adviser is a new position within GISF. You will leverage your access to our global membership’s experiences, our robust data and our forward-looking research to ensure decision-makers are equipped to support approaches that enable safe and sustainable access.

You will also play a key role in GISF’s support for global NGO/UN security coordination. This position will provide support to NGO representatives (from ICVA, GISF, and Interaction) on the Saving Lives Together (SLT) Oversight Committee and Working Group. You will develop long-term campaigns to bring about important changes, such as increasing the role of local and national NGOs in risk management.
You don’t need to bring a detailed understanding of safety and security, but you’ll need an appreciation of the role that risk management plays in ensuring sustainable access, of the importance of coordination and collaboration, and you’ll need an understanding of how to deliver positive change in the NGO sector.
About You
- Strong knowledge of global humanitarian policies and International Humanitarian Law, including government policies, donor behaviour, international institutions and NGOs.
- Proven experience of carrying out high-quality research, policy and/or advocacy.
- Ability to think creatively, innovate, strategise, set priorities, manage a workplan and evaluate progress with minimal supervision.
- Strong networking and experience of participating in coalitions and working with civil-society actors to achieve change.
- Knowledge of human rights, international relations, political analysis and the international humanitarian system.
- Experience developing impactful events.
- Comfortable communicating complex concepts to a broad range of audiences.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to six weeks a year.
