About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly skilled and dedicated Compliance, Risk, and Audit team. The team compromises a Director, Head of Service, and 3 experienced officers, with this role completing the team as the 4th officer. Although the team is small in size, they deliver work of significant depth, strategic importance, and exceptional quality across SIG. They play a vital role in supporting SIG's strategic direction through its commitment to high standards of Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement.

As we have an increasing focus on integrated safety and assurance framework, this role contributes to maintaining a safe and transparent working environment, to help protect and empower staff, residents, and participants, whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In this role, you will drive professional and effective compliance, risk, audit and safety standards, policies, and processes which embed systems which can be used to develop a safe and inclusive environment for all. You will deliver support in data protection, health and embed frameworks throughout SIG which are in line with regulatory and legislative change. 

• Review reported AINMs and Safeguarding alerts and work collaboratively with teams to implement effective remedial actions, supporting future mitigation
• Conduct regular service visits and team meetings, focusing on safety reviews, training, and provide practical, informed guidance during these engagements
• Manage data and analyse trends, creating high quality reports, which are clear and readable
• Facilitate and support organisational complaints processes to ensure adherence to policy, timescale, and best practice
• Investigate and lead on whistleblowing concerns and assist the audit and compliance team, champions, Managers, P&C and other relevant teams in acting appropriately on concerns raised and protecting the whistleblower

About you

• Previous experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
• Previous experience in governance systems and structures which could include auditing, risk management, investigations, and report writing
• Previous experience in managing quality standards
• Working knowledge of health and safety processes and procedures
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, and ability to confidently use and utilise Microsoft programs
• Ability to write reports in a clear, readable format
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Awareness and understanding of the impact of stigma and marginalisation on people who have multiple complex needs

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. As testament to its’ success and in response to huge need, IKWRO has expanded and now provides unique and vital support for women and girls from all Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan (MENA) communities who are at risk of “honour” based violence, child marriage, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, domestic violence, sexual violence and other forms of gender violence.  

IKWRO provides direct services including advocacy and professional counselling. IKWRO opened the UK’s first specialist Middle Eastern women’s refuge. IKWRO is regularly called upon to share expertise with government, academics, and media and to train professionals from bodies such as the police, social services and schools.  

IKWRO has led the recognition of “honour” based abuse and “honour” killing as forms of violence against women and girls. Campaign successes include; the first extradition from Kurdistan-Iraq to the UK of perpetrators of “honour” killing of Banaz Mahmod, the UK’s criminalisation of forced marriage, child marriage, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, as well as the first ever national inspection of policing of “honour” based violence.

The Campaign and Communications Manager will work under the direction of the Executive Director of IKWRO and will be responsible for drafting and implementing IKWRO’s new campaign and communications strategy to achieve positive systemic legal and policy change, informed by the experiences of the women and girls that IKWRO represents. Job Summary

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Executive. Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team, reporting into the Senior Principal Gifts Manager, the role will support the development of our Principal giving programme (highest level funders of seven figure+). You will focus on the administration of the programme: preparing briefings, written correspondence, data base management and working closely with the Senior Principal Gifts Manager to create compelling proposals. Alongside supporting this, you will have your own portfolio of five to six figure funders and prospects and will need to maintain a high level of organisation and excellent communication to build both internal relationships and external relationships with donors and prospects.

The role will provide substantial opportunity for professional development within a world-leading cultural organisation, particularly as the ambition is to grow this role into a manager level securing higher income targets.

Main Responsibilities

Fundraising

· Raise income in line with agreed personal targets and KPI’s, contributing to the Philanthropy team’s current annual income target of £7m+.

· Support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager in their management of seven-figure gifts.

· Establish strong cross-Museum relationships to develop programme ideas in line with funders’ interests and support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager to craft compelling cases for support.

· Support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager, Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development to plan and implement creative strategies to increase philanthropic gifts at the seven-figure gift level.

· Prepare written briefings for senior management for meetings with prospective donors as well as follow up documentation and correspondence.

Finance and Administration

At SPANA, we support a network of global partners working through both a short- term small grants and long- term programmes – known as our Senior Partners. The Head of Research and Policy is a key role within the Trust, overseeing its programme of policy-focused research on social mobility and educational inequalities. The Trust has published over 300 pieces of research since 1997, including many highly influential reports which have achieved widespread media coverage and attention among policy makers. This is an exciting opportunity to play a meaningful part in effecting change for disadvantaged young people, in a rapidly evolving policy landscape

The role sits within our integrated Communications, Research and Policy team, where we see communications and advocacy working hand in hand with generating robust evidence. As Head you will oversee a small research team producing original research internally, as well as commissioning work from external researchers and organisations. You will develop proposals and design research projects, as well as recommendations for policy and practice.

We are looking for someone with a deep interest in issues of educational equity, social mobility and increasing opportunity. You will combine a commitment to methodologically robust research with a passion for clear, impactful communication of findings and an eye for practical learnings.

Main duties
Research

• Leading the Trust’s portfolio of research, with the Director of Research and Policy, ensuring a regular and varied programme of policy-relevant research, including responsibility for its quality and accuracy.
• Overseeing colleagues and external organisations responsible for individual reports.

Purpose of the role

The Alcohol Behavioral Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioral change related to alcohol consumption.
