Programme structure:
Two 6 month placements

Through work placements with organisations driving impactful change, you'll gain hands-on experience tackling pressing social and environmental issues 4.5 days of the week. Some of our current partners include Better Society Capital, Save the Children, BAFTA and VISA.

Our intensive Learning & Development programme involves weekly in-person sessions led by experts from across sectors. This blend of professional training and academic rigour equips you with the skills, knowledge and mindset to lead organisational and systemic change.

The Transformation Hub Manager will play a pivotal role in reshaping our service offerings by creating a vibrant, inclusive, and strengths-based hub for our communities - many of who are underserved, including asylum seekers, refugees, residents facing isolation, and those affected by homelessness. You will lead on the delivery and successful management of our National Lottery funded RenewALL Hub, transforming our ideas from concept into a sustainable, impactful centre for community wellbeing. Central to this role is continuing to drive the shift from a crisis-led service model to a holistic, strengths-based approach, ensuring the RenewALL hub empowers Newham residents to connect, grow, and thrive. A major part of this transformation will be designing and delivering a wide range of new activities and services. Crucially, the Hub will not just deliver activities for residents but will be co-designed and co-produced with them, embedding lived experience and the voice of the community at its core. Success will depend on your ability to build and lead a coherent, motivated team of staff and volunteers, uniting them behind the shared vision of the Hub. We’re looking for two proactive individuals who are passionate about volunteering to join our team.
Our Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for co-ordinating volunteer recruitments, providing volunteer management advice and guidance to staff who work with volunteers, and establishing positive relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a fulfilling volunteer experience at Battersea.
As well as administration and support, this role also has the opportunity to work on projects to improve our volunteer programme at Battersea.
- One Volunteer Coordinator role will work directly with cattery volunteers at Battersea London.
- The other Volunteer Coordinator role will work directly with kennel volunteers in Battersea London.
We work on a hybrid working rota of 3 days in the office, and 2 days from home per week. There may be the need to work on a weekend day on occasion.

Our hybrid working model:
