Key responsibilities
- Write, edit and publish news stories for the World Physiotherapy website and newsletters
- Develop clear, engaging web copy and digital content aligned with our values and strategic priorities
- Write and edit press releases, briefs, statements, and CEO/leadership communications as needed
- Create and schedule social media content across platforms (eg, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter). Monitor comments across platforms
- Assist with marketing key campaigns and initiatives the organisation undertakes, including World Physiotherapy congresses, held every two years
- Assist with keeping World Physiotherapy websites updated
- Assist with the production of the annual report and other publications

Qualifications and experience
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field is highly desirable
- Professional qualification from a recognised body such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or the Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM) is advantageous
- Proven experience in marketing, copywriting, or digital content creation
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Familiarity with SEO principles and content management systems (eg, WordPress)
- Experience managing social media accounts for organisations or brands
- Experience working in or writing for NGOs, nonprofits, or the medical/healthcare sector is highly desirable

Purpose:
The Events and Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting both membership events and communications activities. The ECO will work with both the Communications Manager and the Membership and Events Manager to ensure membership data is up-to-date, to track membership engagement, to support the organising and delivery of our events, and to craft and broadcast digital content and media outputs. This role requires a proactive, dynamic, and driven individual with excellent communication skills, an understanding of event management, confidence and experience using CRM databases and Excel, along with social media skills and an ability to spot new media opportunities. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, confident and adept with CRM systems, and enthusiastic about delivering excellent service to members whilst helping to promote the organisation's work across digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
Membership and Events Support

Working closely with the Membership and Events Manager to deliver strategies for recruiting, retaining, and engaging members.

The Biochemical Society are seeking an Events and Training Assistant, on a 12-month fixed term contract, to support the Biochemical Society Events and Training team.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for delegate and general events related queries, ensuring that delegates have registered for events under the correct category, and received payment before the event. You will also set up events in the Events system and manage CPD accreditation applications for all events, collating event feedback and researching potential new sponsors for events.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
WFN’s communications amplify the work of Whitley Award winners, raise the profile of the charity, bolster fundraising efforts, and contribute to global conservation conversations, positioning WFN as a leader within the sector.
- Monitor, and create and schedule content for WFN’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn accounts, helping to grow engagement and channel performance, driving traffic to WFN’s website, and sharing charity, winner, and sector news – in line with WFN’s communications strategy and with oversight from the Head of Communications (HoC)
- Lead management of WFN’s photo library and footage archive (Google photos): naming, categorising, and uploading winner and event photos
- Support delivery of social media campaigns during the lead up to events to drive engagement and/or donations, and supporting with posting content throughout the event period

- Support production and distribution of our regular e-letter (through MailChimp)

EVENTS
Whitley Awards Ceremony
The Whitley Awards are the result of an international search to find, fund, train and put a spotlight on outstanding grassroots leaders and their conservation projects. Finalists are invited to London for a week of training and events, culminating with the Whitley Awards Ceremony, where winners receive their Awards from WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal in front of 400 guests and many more tuning in via our livestream.
The Communications Assistant will assist the team in planning and delivery of events during the Whitley Awards Ceremony week, including the Friends Reception, Ceremony and NGO Reception, particularly in the following areas:
Communications
- Assist with supplier liaison across event filming, livestream, and photography
- Help create event visuals and on-screen graphics
- Support with creation of the Ceremony invitations and booklet
- Support with sourcing additional material for the Whitley Award films as needed

About the role

The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community
Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.
We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Responsibilities:
- Creating and delivering marketing campaigns that raise awareness of our care homes and housing schemes.
- Working with our digital agency to run paid campaigns (PPC, social, lead generation) and supporting traditional methods where effective.
- Managing and updating the website to ensure content is clear, relevant, accessible, and SEO-optimised.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the charity to provide consistent, joined-up messaging.
- Protecting and promoting our brand identity and tone of voice across all materials.
- Using research and insight to understand audiences and identify trends.
- Building strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and communities to deliver joined-up marketing.
- Measuring and reporting on campaign impact using tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights.
- Managing the marketing budget to ensure resources are used effectively.
- Additional duties as required.
Experience/skills:
- Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum of three years’ marketing experience, including digital campaigns, website management (e.g. WordPress), and SEO.
- Confident communicator with strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for on-brand materials.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and with colleagues from across the organisation
- A can-do problem-solving attitude
