Background Information and Purpose of Post
As part of our ambitious plans in the UK, we aim to achieve significant growth in private fundraising. This post is a pivotal role enabling HI UK to maximise our income from email marketing and other digital channels.
You will support the IGC Team Manager and Fundraising Manager to deliver HI UK’s individual giving strategy by developing and running our digital fundraising activities.
The purpose of the post is to:
· Focus on increasing overall digital fundraising income year on year.
· Lead the development of HI UK’s digital fundraising activities, focusing on email marketing and paid advertising while testing and developing new income streams.
· Maximise engagement, conversion, retention and giving levels of digital supporters.
· Produce engaging content for use across digital channels.
· Monitor, analyse and report on key performance indicators to evaluate digital marketing.
· Ensure that our donors and supporters are at the heart of everything we do and provide them with a first-class experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Email marketing
· Create high-quality, timely and inspiring emails for HI UK’s donors and supporters every week, to increase income and engagement.
· Develop and launch multichannel emergency fundraising appeals at short notice to maximise fundraising income and supporter awareness.
· Develop and maintain email marketing automation programmes to improve supporter experience.
Paid media
· Work with our digital agency to optimise the ROI of our Search Engine Advertising (SEA) on Google and Bing.
· Develop and test new Social Media Advertising campaigns to support fundraising objectives.
· Develop and test new paid media activities to enhance fundraising campaigns.
· Develop and implement multichannel digital fundraising campaigns, working with the Fundraising Manager.
Content creation and website
· Design and produce creative content including video and images for use across digital fundraising and supporter engagement activities.
· Increase the impact of our organic social media content, particularly on Instagram and TikTok.
· Improve the HI UK website as a tool for fundraising and supporter engagement, focusing on the creation and development of appeal landing pages, donation forms, and supporter actions.
· Increase volume and quality of organic traffic to HI UK’s website through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
Cross cutting
· Maintain detailed reporting on key performance indicators for digital marketing, to evaluate performance, make improvements and identify tests.
· Test and improve key supporter journeys across HI UK’s digital channels to increase income, conversion rate and engagement.
· Increase the integration of HI UK’s existing digital tools and databases through automation.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues in the IGC team to improve digital activities in their areas of responsibility, including legacy fundraising, acquisition, loyalty, supporter care, and media outreach.
Other responsibilities
· Maintain a positive working relationship with the marketing teams in HI Federation and National Associations, participating in digital working groups and feeding into digital transformation projects as required.
· Ensure HI brand guidelines and organisational values are respected in all digital marketing activities.
· Manage relationships with relevant suppliers and consultants.
· Represent the organisation at relevant external events and meetings.
· Keep up to date and adhere with any changes in legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation, best practice and industry standards in relation to digital fundraising.
· Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required.

The role of Retail Development Manager is crucial to the income growth and audience reach of The Children’s Trust retail function. The postholder will be responsible for researching, developing and establishing new income streams to reach new audiences and drive footfall for a disperse network of charity shops, including establishing the online selling of donated and bought in (New) goods; management of online and digital selling platforms and associated stakeholders, ensuring that all compliance requirements are fulfilled.
The role will work collaboratively as part of the Retail Management Team to develop and deliver long-term growth plans to drive voluntary income growth and increase footfall and to lead on new business initiatives.
Role Requirements
- Research opportunities to recommend, test and rollout new online and digital selling platforms. Introduce associated systems and processes to achieve compliance.
- Working with the Retail Sales Manager, identify and source donated product lines and items for listing and selling through online and digital selling platforms. Share learnings to source quality stock to drive sales.
- Create a new online offer to complement and integrate within our existing retail portfolio of shops across Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Develop processes to manage online and digital selling: inventory, listing, pick, pack and despatch of online stock, including organising the logistics for deliveries to customers and collections to meet both shops and customer requirements.
- Manage the development and optimisation of online and digital selling platforms and make recommendations for rapid growth and new business proposals.
- Work with the Retail Sales Manager and Marketing and Communications team to create assets and content that can be used in store, online, through owned channels to maximise opportunities, sales promotions and seasonal changes across the chain of shops.
- Research and implement efficiencies in reducing waste disposal costs for shops estate including items no longer purchased through Rag merchants.
- Research and recommend new income streams for the sale of unsold donated items to mitigate low return through Rag merchants.
- Manage full compliance of the Children’s Trust online and digital selling platforms in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Fire safety, Trading Standards, Retail Gift Aid, GDPR, ThankQ CRM, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding and all other legal or statutory requirements.
- Develop and manage risk assessments and associated online selling policy protocols to prevent reputational damage to The Children’s Trust through digital and online trading activities.
- Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships including supplier contracts, internal support teams, ensuring that efficient and compliant services are maintained.
- Working with Marketing and Communications and Supporter Care colleagues to ensure that the retail supporter journey is optimised and relationships are managed holistically.r

About the role

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST
This strategic and outward-facing role will be instrumental in expanding the School’s network of supporters and maximising philanthropic income as we celebrate our Centenary in 2026. MAIN DUTIES
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with new and existing supporters through personalised engagement strategies informed by the Head of Development
- Represent the School at meetings, events, presentations and functions to cultivate connections with prospective donors

Prospect Research and Identification
- Maintain and update the active prospects pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are tracked and appropriately prioritized with touchpoints and assigned relationship leads
- Contribute to the invitations tracker to ensure all prospects are engaged with in a systemised and relevant way according to location, interest, propensity to give.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and interactions in the CRM system improving and refining systems and processes as part of a growing department
- Monitor progress against fundraising targets, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership on pipeline value from identification to stewardship stages
- Analyse donor trends, sector insights and curate feedback to refine engagement strategies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in donor cultivation and relationship management - Demonstrated success in building and sustaining 5 and 6 figure annual relationships with major donors and key stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills - Capacity to manage multiple donor relationships, events/projects, and fundraising initiatives simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic office environment.
- Strong strategic fundraising expertise - Ability to design, implement, and evaluate fundraising strategies that align with institutional priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Main responsibilities:
· Plan, coordinate, and execute a range of events.
· Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, transportation, accommodation, and catering arrangements.
· Agenda and room allocations.
· Liaise effectively with various vendors and service providers.
· Evaluate each event’s success through feedback collection and analysis, making necessary recommendations for improvements.
· Promote the organisation's brand image, values, and initiatives.
· Ensure all events comply with relevant health and safety standards and other regulations.
· Develop and execute marketing and advertising strategies to effectively promote events across social media, email campaigns, and other relevant channels.
· Diary management, arranging meetings, travel, room booking and catering requirements.
· Support in production of presentations and be able to present for the group whilst attending events online or in person.
· Process registration payments as and when needed.
· Attend and represent the charities at physical meetings and events.
· Support the production of recording healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers for educational webinars/events through but not limited to, Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
· Support the delivery of all Arrhythmia Alliance group events, projects, campaigns and initiatives, including but not limited to Heart Rhythm Update meetings, Heart Rhythm Congress (HRC) (our flagship annual congress), European Pacing Summit (EPS), Know Your Pulse, Defibs Save Lives, World Heart Rhythm Week and Global AF Aware Week.
Person specification:
- Educated to a minimum A-Level standard, with further relevant training, experience and professional development in marketing, event planning and execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Can undertake a wide variety of tasks and multi-task with ease.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work flexibly, and as part of a team.
- Professional, methodical and thorough approach to work.
- Friendly, professional, respectful, punctual and polite.
