Job description

It is a hugely exciting time to join Career Ready as we continue to celebrate and build our brand alongside our soon to be launched, new 3-year strategy.

The Marketing Engagement Officer is a new role in our Communication Team and has been created to help raise awareness of Career Ready, secure new lead generation opportunities, and support our partners across each stage of their relationship journey.

You will play a leading role in shaping Career Ready’s external marcomms, having the opportunity to be creative and independent in your thinking, and use a range of marketing tactics and tools. Joining a Communications Team of three, this is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a marketing strategy which will help ensure that young people across the UK are able to reach their full potential. 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively throughout Career Ready to support our strategy to secure, onboard, and promote new employer partners, as well as raise awareness of our corporate brand.

Job Description: Marketing Engagement Officer

Reporting to: Head of Communications

Reports: None

Salary: £30,000-35,000

Contract: Full-time (35 Hours), fixed term six-month contract

Please note - whilst the role is advertised as being based in our offices situated in Canary Wharf, London, Career Ready is currently operating as a remote-working organisation and will remain flexible in the future. During this remote-working period a WFH allowance of £300pa (pro rata) is paid.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Communications and Head of Partnership Development to implement an employer marketing strategy to accelerate our growth in employer partners, using a range of marketing approaches, processes, and tools.
  • Work with the Head of Communications to map out the user journey of Career Ready’s partners and provide support across all stages, boosting lead generation and partner retention.
  • Create and deliver marketing content including website articles, email marketing, printed materials, social media (including paid advertising) monitoring impact and return on investment.
  • Copywriting for a range of mediums, including web copy, e-newsletters, social media, printed materials, corporate communications, and digital advertising.
  • Research and develop new opportunities to engage with key target audiences, working with other teams to broaden our reach and awareness.
  • Support our team of Account Managers to provide onboarding and ongoing promotional support to key partners.
  • Support the targeted marketing & recruitment of corporate volunteers, through focussed marketing activity, that creates new ambassadors from within business to support our work;
  • Harness the opportunity to create brand ambassadors from within our corporate network and support colleagues in creating compelling and engaging propositions for our employer audiences;
  • Support our corporate partner story telling, through case studies, impact and insights to shine a spot light on the business and society value of working with Career Ready for both the young people and the employers we support;
  • Support the development of stakeholder centred events and engaging products that place us front and centre of the solutions to the D&I, social value and talent pipeline objectives that our corporate partners are grappling with;
  • Support the development of a proactive speaker engagement plan for our leadership team that secures our brand profile and voice is on platforms where we want to be seen and heard, to network and inspire with the employer and community partners we want to work with;
  • Deliver excellent creative and innovative marketing solutions to achieve our focussed corporate partner sector and regionally based growth targets;
  • support our approach to achieving holistic partnership engagement across our interventions and our marketing goal to increase the number of paid internships our employer partners are providing the young people we serve;
  • Provide creative and logistical support for events – both physical and digital –to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Support the Head of Communications with the delivery of national campaigns, including political influencing and outreach.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and suppliers where required, providing a high-level of support and professionalism.
  • Champion the Career Ready brand, acting as a brand ambassador, supporting others to effectively apply the brand design and messaging.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of key activities and campaigns, contributing to regular reporting.
  • Other duties as may be specified by the Head of Communications from time to time.

Person specification

Essential skills

  • Excellent understanding of customer segmentation and targeting
  • Excellent creative writing skills and standards of written English
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Proficient in the use of social media, email marketing, web analytics and CRM platforms
  • Analytical skills to highlight key campaign successes and weaknesses
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and written
  • Excellent project management skills and knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Independent thinking and ability to manage own workload to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with others and in a team, to convene and facilitate stakeholders to collaborate on projects.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of GDPR and wider data protection best practice
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Knowledge, understanding and interest in social, political and economic issues relating to Career Ready’s mission.
