About the role ofHead of Principal Donors
As Head of Principal Donors, you will lead and manage the Foundation’s philanthropy programme, working closely with our senior leadership team and our founder to personally cultivate and steward the Foundation’s principal donors. This includes overseeing our recently formed Accelerate Circle – a select group of visionary philanthropists who help drive the Foundation’s fundraising through their networks.
In this role you will:
- Develop and deliver the Foundation’s philanthropy strategy, playing an active
leadership role in the successful delivery of income growth from UHNWI and
HNWIs - Develop the Accelerate Circle of patrons and deliver a solicitation strategy to
expand membership and grow our community of donors and supporters - Provide exceptional stewardship to existing donors and cultivate new donors
- Work closely with our founder and their office to design, plan and deliver highROI engagement such as income-generating dinners or paid speeches
- With the Director Fundraising and Communications, develop annual plans and
budgets, along with longer term forecasts for income from individuals - Work proactively with our Communications and Programmes teams to identify
and create funded or high-return opportunities to gain visibility in key markets - Support staff to deliver and, where appropriate, lead on fundraising and
cultivation events and donor trips - In consultation with the Director, lead on financial reporting for philanthropy
income, advising on risks and opportunities, producing regular reports of
income against plans and forecasts, and monitoring day to day income tracking
Our ideal candidate is:
- Experienced in cultivating and stewarding high-net-worth individual donors – with a proven track record of securing six or seven figure donations
- Capable of developing and delivering a successful philanthropy strategy
- Comfortable and experienced working with high profile individuals and senior volunteers including managing development boards, giving circles or other forms of peer-to-peer fundraising approaches
- Excellent at managing relationships and able to successfully influence people at all levels with clear and persuasive communication

Job Summary
The BSR education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities.
This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Education & Events Manager, Event Executive (Education) and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and digital learning activities. You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board.
This is an exciting role for someone looking to get further hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.
Main Responsibilties
Event & Course Coordination
- Lead on course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
- Support course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
- Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
- Occasional travel, including attendance and overnight stays at BSR courses, conferences and events.
Systems & Data Management
- Oversee the team’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and registration systems, ensuring data integrity, implementing system enhancements, coordinating stakeholders, and carrying out testing.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
- Coordinate the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
- Coordinate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation of educational activities.
- Support the delivery of digital sponsorship and educational partnership opportunities.
Marketing & Communications
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create digital content to engage target audiences, including providing content for webpages, newsletters and delegate communications.
General Duties
- Manage the events inbox and education team enquiries, delivering excellent customer service and being the main point of contact for the team.
- Input into education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for owned projects.
- Support on reporting for and evaluation of all education activities and outputs, identifying impact and ways to improve.
- Support with BSR Committee liaison and logistics.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Education & Events Manager.
Please note: This role will require travel and overnight stays, for example at our in-person courses. As we are a small team you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in cross-departmental projects, lead or contribute to agile sprint working and support wider business needs. There are other opportunities to get involved with our staff forum or peer group meetings.
Person Specification
- Enthusiastic about all aspects of education and CPD, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to educational initiatives.
- Proven event planning or coordination experience (preferably within education and training, healthcare, or professional membership sectors).
- Experience of working on a variety of digital systems, including CRM, and quick to pick up new programs.

The Role

The Role
We're seeking an experienced, highly organised professional to take on a pivotal role leading the coordination and delivery of two of Julie’s Bicycle's flagship international training programmes: ITER and Creative Climate Changemakers (CCC) (formerly Creative Climate Leadership - CCL).This blended role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation and high-quality delivery of both programmes. It demands a blend of exceptional project management expertise and a passion for supporting and facilitating transformative climate action within the cultural sector.
You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from strategic co-design of the ITER curriculum as well as facilitating the ITER training. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of logistics, partnerships, and finance across both programmes (ITER and CCC). This includes leading the coordination for a week-long residential CCC programme in Switzerland in March 2026 (attendance and facilitation for the CCC residential won’t be required) and managing the ongoing delivery of the ITER programme. Your ability to maintain clear communication with international partners like Ver Le Futur and In futurum, as well as with funders and programme participants, will be key to success. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering two of our core training programmes:

Creative Climate Changemakers (CCC) (formerly Creative Climate Leadership) has been running in different formats since 2017. CCC is an international training, support and transformation programme which empowers artists, artivists and cultural change-makers to take action on the climate and ecological crisis with impact, creativity, and resilience.
CCC strengthens the extraordinary climate leadership already energising the creative and cultural ecosystem everywhere. Through deep immersion in the themes, creativity as a practice and the community as a whole, CCC champions a systems approach orientated towards justice and inclusion. Creative Climate Change-makers represent an exceptional international cohort; many projects, companies and careers are flourishing as a result of the programme, with national cultural policies responding to this new field of practice led by over 200 CCL alumni from all five continents. -
International Touring and Environmental Responsibility (ITER) Programme: Now entering into its fifth year the ITER programme is a partnership between Arts Council England, Arts and Culture Norway and the Danish Arts Foundation, and aims to foster new international collaborations and connections between the participating countries. ITER consists of two training programmes running in parallel; a course for beginners and a course for Changemakers, followed by an opportunity for participants to collaborate and apply for project funding. The programme is directed at touring professionals in the creative sector, focusing on sustainability. To date, 137 organisations and individual artists have taken part in the programme. Many are now leading the way by re-imagining conventional models of touring, putting environmental and social sustainability at the heart of what they do, and bringing important new learning to the sector.
Key Responsibilities
Project management and administration

Manage the day-to-day project management and administration for both the CCC and ITER programmes.

Ensure smooth coordination and clear partnership roles (R&Rs) are maintained with key partners for each programme, including Ver Le Futur (Switzerland) for CCC and In futurum for ITER, along with other partners and funders.

Coordinate, manage, and contribute to internal JB meetings for both programmes, including coordinating internal programmatic development/awayday sessions.
