Role Summary    

This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Your work will drive significant awareness of our organisation, and ultimately enable millions of people to transform their relationship with alcohol.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities    

Media engagement  

• Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

• Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

• Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

• Provide ongoing development of our key lines library, regularly reviewing responses we have on file for a range of topics 

• Support Alcohol Change UK spokespeople (Chief Executive, Directors and others) prepare for interviews: developing tailored briefings ahead of opportunities, providing a sounding board to rehearse key lines when required and giving feedback on appearances to support ongoing development

• Manage our media database and reporting tools, providing regular condensed reports for the Director of Communications and Marketing/CEO/Board and develop insights-gathering to better inform our media engagement strategy

• With the Director of Communications and Marketing, play a key role in media crisis management, escalating issues as appropriate, suggesting solutions and developing organisational responses to sensitive situations

• Support the deployment of Alcohol Change UK voices, working closely with the Engagement Team to identify Community Champions, Ambassadors and others who are happy to be supported to share their experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm with the media

Developing a new proactive media strategy  

• Plan and deliver a new strategy for generating proactive media coverage, where Alcohol Change UK’s research, campaigns, parliamentary and wider activity connect with larger audiences in a strategic way

• Working closely with teams across the organisation, craft compelling media plans and press releases to generate coverage of our work

• Bring fresh energy to opportunity spotting, securing opinion pieces, expert comment, letters to editors and other ‘newsjacking’ content – particularly on ‘culture change’ topics such as sober shaming and stigma 

• Manage relationships with key journalists in our sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and exclusives

Campaign media activity  

• Particularly for our flagship Dry January® campaign, and with the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, develop media support briefs for external media agencies, when required 

• Develop fresh strategies and media angles for annual campaigns (Dry January®, Sober Spring, Alcohol Awareness Week) to keep activity engaging for public and returning audiences

• Think creatively to craft media strategies which are tailored to reach segmented audience groups, aligning with targets for individual campaigns to reach under-served communities 

• Provide detailed campaign media evaluations, insights and learning reports

The purpose of this role is to develop and manage Tearfund's advocacy product portfolio in a way that engages supporters (individuals and churches) in meaningful advocacy activities aligned to Tearfund's work as part of their whole life response to poverty, delivering against Tearfund's advocacy targets and strategies.

The postholder will work alongside a fundraising marketing team working on our four key fundraising domains (acquisition marketing, retention marketing, church & community engagement, legacy & in memory fundraising) and will lead on developing new and existing campaigning initiatives, appeals and projects that will both integrate and fit alongside our other marketing activities.

Key areas of focus for the postholder would be:

• Generating and leading on the exploration of ideas for various advocacy marketing / movement-building activities
• Leading on new and existing advocacy marketing appeals and projects
• Lead on the monitoring of campaign and project performance including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Liaising with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders

Role Overview:

This role is ideal for someone skilled in copywriting, data management/CRM, sales, and account management. Your main tasks will include collaborating with the Events, Marketing, and Membership teams to execute successful strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop effective sales and promotional email campaigns for 12-14 annual events, aiming for an annual event revenue of around £1m.
• Craft engaging marketing emails to boost engagement and increase ticket sales.
• Utilise email marketing best practices, such as A/B testing, segmentation, and personalised targeting.
• Proficiency in using email marketing platforms, with a preference for Dot Digital.
• Manage CRM systems to oversee sales pipelines and utilise external data sources and desk research.
• Develop and manage target lists for marketing campaigns.
• Strong administrative skills, particularly in Excel and Word, to manage ticket sales documentation.
• Assist in budgeting, financial mapping, and modelling exercises for ticket sales.
• Handle event bookings and related administration tasks.
• Analyse sales trends, feedback, and market trends, providing regular reports to colleagues and senior management.
• Foster relationships with both members and non-members, understanding their interests and needs to match with our events.
• Generate sales through various communication channels, including email, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.

Person Specification:

• Proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel for data management and analysis.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• 3-5 years of marketing/sales experience preferred.
• Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to present ideas effectively.
• Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Professional and persuasive communication skills.
• Collaborative and consultative approach.
• Knowledge of private capital/financial services is an advantage, but not essential.

About the role

We’re recruiting for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to steer us in the next stage of our journey. This is an exciting development of an existing role at Overcoming MS and will allow the successful candidate to make the position their own.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering an innovative new digital marketing approach, through the innovation, creation and delivery of projects and activities which increase leads, donations and engagement for Overcoming MS charity.

 Key Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Manager will work across several areas, including:

1. Conversion optimisation

· Increasing our donations and data capture - to enable us to continue the dialogue and create donations from a greater percentage of those who visit our website, or interact with other digital channels.

· Working with our agency partner to optimise key landing pages and signposting for conversion.

2. User journey optimisation

· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.

· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.

3. Increasing reach and traffic generation

· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.

· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).

4. Testing to improve results continually 

· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.

· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.

5. Digital project management

· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.

6. Campaign support

· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.

7. Gathering community feedback

· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.

8. Supplier collaboration

· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.

About you

Strong digital skills

• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users. 
• Strong working knowledge and experience in digital solutions.
• Experience in evaluating and improving existing digital programs.
• Significant experience working with 3rd party digital providers to create solutions that work for the target audience.
• Confident in Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent understanding of AB testing to maximise conversion rates.
• Experience in using tools like HotJar (preferred).
• Strong analysis skills.

Our Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for Baby Lifeline’s social media channels, planning and creating content for our website and driving engagement with the individuals and organisations we need to reach.

Key responsibilities:

· To take ownership of content published via Baby Lifeline’s website and shared via its social media channels

· To use social media and Baby Lifeline’s website to drive income through fundraising

· To engage with stakeholders through digital activity, building positive two-way relationships

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver an effective email CRM programme for ZSL and its Zoos (London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo) across the broad range of audience groups (zoo visitors, donors, members, experience bookers, etc.). The aim is to continuously grow customer acquisition, engagement, value and loyalty as part of an overarching Supporter Journey that has the customer experience at its heart.

Your key responsibilities:

• Design and build on-brand email marketing campaigns from end to end. Including copywriting, building emails on Dotdigital, sending campaigns and manage A/B and MVP testing strategy to ensure continuous optimisation of email campaigns.
• Own the overall email campaign plan and delivery, working with audience owners across ZSL to manage email communications, providing guidance and best practice.
• Analyse and segment customer data and maximise this data to deliver effective targeted activity, managing the quality and frequency of messaging. Use this insight to identify opportunities for up-selling or cross-selling programmes.
• Develop and deliver customer data acquisition strategies and ensure all activity is GDPR compliant.
• Work with the Membership Marketing Manager to fully develop, deliver and manage an effective CRM programme for ZSL to build (automated) supporter journeys along the customer lifecycle, driving loyalty and growing the value of each customer and ROI from CRM activity.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Executive to track and analyse campaign results (engagement, conversion rates, web analytics, ROI) to produce regular reports on campaign performance, and continuously implement improvements based on findings.
• Develop strong working relationships with our Ticketing and Systems teams to understand and use Tessitura, our membership and donations CRM platform as well as ticketing and experiences data from SEE Tickets.
• Manage ZSL’s email service platform (currently Dotdigital) including being responsible for managing and maintaining the data within it to ensure that all customer data and communication is GDPR complaint, management of the ESP budget and management of the relationship with the ESP supplier.

ABOUT YOU

Your experience:

• Email CRM programme management expertise
• Consumer marketing communications experience and management of a customer database essential

Baby Lifeline is a highly respected national charity whose mission is to ensure the healthiest and best outcomes possible from pregnancy and birth.

Founded over 40 years ago by Judy Ledger following the personal tragedy of losing three premature babies, we have since purchased many million pounds’ worth of equipment for maternity and neonatal units, produced nationally recognised reports and research projects, staged highly successful annual UK maternity safety conferences, and provided evidence-based, multi-professional training to reduce avoidable harm and death in maternity. Training is provided through Baby Lifeline Training Ltd, a not-for-profit social enterprise. Head of Communications & Marketing

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Baby Lifeline as Head of Communications and Marketing. You will play a critical role in supporting Baby Lifeline to deliver its important mission, leading the development and delivery of our strategic communications and marketing plan. Together, these will grow awareness of and engagement with our brand and increase donations.

Head of Communications and Marketing Responsibilities:

· Providing strategic communications and marketing counsel to the Chief Executive

· Devising results-driven marketing campaigns to grow our audience and drive charity donations and fundraising

· Devising creative media engagement strategies, leading on proactive and reactive media relations including press releases, statements, interviews, and enquiries

· Building relationships with relevant professionals and experts within healthcare, to help drive sign-ups to events and training

· Managing and influencing relationships with key external influencers, such as journalists, producers, and celebrity VIP ambassadors

· Overseeing our website and social media channels, developing creative content that drives growth, reach and engagement across channels 

· Line managing a Digital Marketing Manager on the effective day to day delivery of website and social media activity; working with external agencies where appropriate

· Understanding what metrics to use as a measure of success, based on key objectives – and to report on these confidently

· Researching and evaluating the latest trends within the charity sector and using these to advance Baby Lifeline communications and marketing activity

As Head of Communications & Marketing, you will have:

· Experience in a similar communications or marketing role

· A keen eye for marketing design – experience creating social media assets is preferable

· Self-motivation and passion about the opportunities that can come from marketing, communications, and social media

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· A degree in marketing and/or PR or equivalent is desirable

Contract: Permanent, subject to a five-month probationary period
Hours: full-time, 28-35 hours per week. Youth Realities hosts a fortnightly 4-day working week policy.
Location: Hybrid working, with in-person requirements from Youth Realities’ office in Colindale (NW9 5XW) and attending events where required in London.
Salary: £46,800 - this is based on current resource and trustees are open to salary increases as funding becomes available.

A newly created role as Marketing Communications and Planning Manager at a fast-moving and growing Health Charity has arisen. The charity supports millions of people across the UK and you could join them, working in London just 1 day a week in a full-time, permanent role.

You will be responsible for planning and ensuring the delivery of a strategically aligned plan for the Marketing and Communications Team. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Engagement Manager to head up our Digital Team, taking the lead on driving forward the organisation’s digital marketing and communications. You’ll work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver the digital elements of the wider marketing and communications strategy, and line manage senior officers who lead the operations and development of our website, social media, email marketing and paid advertising activities.

We’re the Portman Group, the UK’s self-regulatory body for alcohol marketing and we are looking for someone to provide advice and training to the alcohol industry on our marketing rules.  We have two Codes of Practice: the Naming, Packaging and Promotion of Alcoholic Drinks and the Alcohol Sponsorship Code.  Each Code outlines a set of responsible marketing rules that the alcohol industry must abide by.  Our primary purpose as a regulator is to protect those who are vulnerable, particularly those who are under-18.

No previous experience of working in the alcohol industry or marketing regulation is necessary as full training will be provided.

Details of role

· Deliver training and briefing sessions on the Codes and on alcohol social responsibility. This includes delivering sessions virtually and in person within the UK.

· Responsible for responding accurately and promptly to written requests for advice on product marketing from producers and their agencies alongside other members of the Regulatory Affairs Team.

· To raise standards of responsibility in the industry by undertaking proactive trademark searches of newly registered products and providing unsolicited advice where necessary.

· With the support of the team, provide internal and external reporting analysis of advice requests on a monthly basis.

· Monitor product innovations via social media and press publications to identify emerging trends and provide unsolicited advice where necessary.

· Support the team in drafting blogs, newsletters, industry advice pieces and an annual Regulatory Affairs Report.

· Support the team in wider regulatory communications, including distribution of content.

· To support the Regulatory Affairs team more widely by:

o Attending industry events;

o Assisting with the recruitment of new Code Signatories;

o Providing project support as required.

About the post of CEO

You will report directly to the Board of Trustees, ensuring excellent governance of the Charity, regulatory compliance with the Charity Commission and Companies House, and will collaborate with Trustees on designing and executing the 2024-2027 strategy. You will lead and support a team of seven staff, supporting 500+ older and disabled Neighbours annually with a large team of volunteers. You will ensure excellent management of charity’s finances and that adequate funding is in place to maintain all charitable activity, monitoring and evaluation. You will ensure that the charity maintains its reputation and develops its exposure and standing.

You will have a strong understanding of charity governance and will have demonstrable fundraising knowledge and/or experience. JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Operations

1. Develop, implement, and lead execution of the charity's annual operational plan and 3-year strategic plan.

2. Identify appropriate level of staffing, volunteering, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately interviewed, vetted, inducted, trained, developed, and supported to deliver against their objectives.

3. Ensure appropriate upkeep, security, and management of the charity’s premises, including all relevant contracts and payments.

4. Ensure that the charity’s IT systems are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant law.

People

5. Line management of seven staff members, and responsibility for staff and team development, cohesion and appraisals.

6. Recruit and support social club facilitators and appropriate consultants to provide additional resource to the charity as required.

7. Lead staff member for safeguarding, liaising directly with Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Social Care.

8. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 100 regular volunteers, and up to 100 additional corporate/student volunteers.

9. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 500 beneficiaries and additional attendees at FGN events.

Finance and Fundraising

10. Develop, implement, and lead charity’s financial and fundraising planning and management, ensuring that the charity operates at least at break-even, ideally with a small surplus.

11. Ensure that the charity has a diverse range of income across various streams, inclusive of (but not limited to) public sector, trusts and foundations, corporate income, events, and online giving.

12. Ensure that the charity is receiving value for money with all expenditure, ensuring contract review on a timely basis as appropriate.

13. Ensure appropriate cashflow projections so that expenditure does not exceed income in any one year unless pre-agreed with trustees.

14. Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place so to protect charity and anyone handling money on behalf of the charity.

15. In conjunction with the finance administrator and hon. treasurer monitor all income, expenditure, accounts, funding investments and budgets.

Governance

16 Ensure compliance with charity and company law, inclusive of writing, presentation and filing of annual report and accounts and other Company Secretary duties.

17 Organise, attend, record and report at board meetings every two months, inclusive of finance and operations reporting and the regular cycle of governance reviews.

18 Plan, organise and attend AGM and annual strategy session.

19 Ensure appropriate level of risk management and insurance are in place for the charity.

20 Ensure all relevant policies, procedures and financial controls are in place, inclusive of annual review.

Communications and Impact

21. Represent and promote the charity in public, sourcing media opportunities as appropriate so to increase visibility.

22. Represent the charity on appropriate networks and forums so to develop stakeholder relationships and source opportunities for cross-partner collaboration.

23. Ensure positive, fit-for-purpose, internal and external communications, inclusive of monthly newsletters, social media presence and other marketing materials.
