Job Title: Community Gardening Movement Builder (England & Wales)

As Community Gardening Movement Builder (England & Wales) you will be responsible for:

• Leading the digital and in-person convening of community gardeners across England and Wales, to increase the engagement of community gardens, support groups to develop and thrive, and build the platform of the community gardening movement.

• Mapping key stakeholders, campaigns and movement-building activity underway in sectors and spaces relevant to community gardening, keeping colleagues up to date with developments, and flagging challenges and opportunities.

• With the Community Partnerships & Networks Manager, building strong relationships with community gardening groups, partner organisations and key external stakeholders in the policy sphere – such as local authorities, mayoralties and devolved governments.

• Working closely with colleagues in the Communities team and other teams across the RHS to plan, commission and platform a wide range of digital content that will encourage, inspire and enable the community gardening movement.

• Working closely with RHS colleagues, partner organisations and community gardeners to commission, collate and promote data, research and stories that will help amplify the voices of community gardeners and build the case for policy change. 

About you

You will be able to show: 

• A passion for growing, nature, and the role that community gardening can play in bringing people together and addressing social, economic and environmental challenges. 

• A track record of experience in a movement building, policy, strategy, public affairs or external communications role (or the ability to demonstrate similar levels of knowledge if you have not worked in one of these specialisms before). 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present and creatively engage different audiences. 

• Adept interpersonal skills, with experience of building external relationships and collaborating with a wide range of contacts. 

• Strong digital literacy, and an interest in utilising a wide range of digital tools to connect, communicate and convene. 

• An eye for detail, with the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data. 

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to use your initiative to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• The ability to work as an integral member of a small, high-performing team, and to work collaboratively and with agility across the team and the wider organisation.

The Role

BASIC is seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager to lead and implement effective communication strategies that amplify our mission, enhance our brand identity, and strengthen engagement with key audiences. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach to storytelling, and the ability to collaborate across the organisation to ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Manager will play a central role in shaping BASIC’s external presence, working across programmes to craft compelling narratives for social media, the website, and other digital platforms, as well as press contacts.

The Communications Manager will be the point of contact for all communication activity and will be responsible for setting the strategy and communicating this to the team. As an organisation, BASIC is keen to develop brand identity, particularly amongst our programmes and the Communications Manager will be instrumental in developing this work.

Women & Families VAWG Specialist Service 

The Claudia Jones Organisation (CJ0) is seeking a Service Manager for our Women and Families, VAWG Specialist Service to ensure the best outcomes for the women and families we support. 

CJO’s Women and Families VAWG Service aims to provide a cohesive family and specialist support for vulnerable women and families of Caribbean/African heritage experiencing violence and present with complex layering of issues. We assist women and families through 1-1 advocacy, counselling, and therapeutic group support to increase wellbeing, reduce risk and increase safety.  The service provides social and learning opportunities for women and families alongside meeting their immediate needs.

Job:Women & Families VAWG Specialist Service Manager

Location:London     Salary:£40,000 per year, pro rata    Part Time/3 days weekly   Contract:  5 years

The Role

To manage and develop the delivery of the CJO VAWG service for African heritage women and families escaping violence and its impact through advocacy and therapeutic services.  You will be responsible for managing your team of domestic violence workers whilst working synergistically with our clinical lead and social work support to achieve the best outcomes for the women and families who access our service.

As a member of the senior management team, you will have a strategic focus and lead on safeguarding to protect women and their children. You will have both an internal and external focus of influence with local and national stakeholders including statutory services and funders to ensure a co-ordinated community response and service for African heritage women and families.

About You

As a strong communicator, you will bring your understanding and know how to support and navigate the criminal justice systems in relation to VAWG.  Able to work independently and prioritise a busy workload.  An effective communicator who is innovative with experience of managing, growing, and developing your team.  Excellent team player willing to get involved and support service users and staff, no matter the task or activity.

Key Objectives Within the Overall Purpose of the Post:   

The management of CJOs VAWG women and family’s specialist service ensuring it meets the needs of African Heritage women and families, is contract compliant with the service specification and the charity’s policies and procedures.

1. To lead and effectively manage the finance in line with the grant and annual budget.
2. Lead on and participate in national, local discussions, consultation, research, monitoring and evaluation, needs assessment, collaboration, networks, to sustain and grow the women and family specialist service and any other activity relevant to deliver the service.
3. Represent the service and organisation at both internal and external meetings and within multi-agency partnerships.
4. Lead on and facilitate monitoring and evaluation activities, which supports the voices of service user and their data, to inform legislation, policy, and practice, identifying synergies across the organisation’s work as well as opportunities to produce and share learning.
5. Facilitate a range of training for; professionals, service users, staff, volunteers, external audience to improve practice and service delivery.
6. Communications - directly produce, facilitate publicity and marketing material for the service, appropriately using social media e-leaflets, paper booklets etc to increase knowledge, awareness, skills, and the impact of VAWG on the lives of women and families.
7. Ensure written language is to good quality standard including emails and all other record keeping and documentation required of CJOs work.
8. Ensure that the service is delivered within safeguarding practice and safe standards as per our quality mark.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Contribute towards and/or write comprehensive reports that may include data, narratives, and case studies as required by funders, commissioners, CJO and others.
• Oversee the management of the Oasis database undertaking quarterly audits and monthly monitoring of data collection for performance management of the service.
• Dip sample and audit case files as held on Oasis, ensuring staff are recording information and delivering services in line with Imkaan and other quality standards.
• Oversee the consistent use of the ‘Safe Lives’ risk assessment tool, alongside other developed risk mitigation templates.
• Ensure staff appropriately represent women and advocate on their behalf when dealing with outside agencies such as the Housing department, Police, DSS, Solicitors, Social Services, Health Professionals, and all other relevant agencies.
• Document monitoring ensure that it is provided in the agreed and acceptable formats for  the VAWG women and Families Specialist Service  using standard templates.

Management of Service Finance

• Work closely with the finance team to oversee the income and expenditure of the service in line with all policies and procedures of the organisation, contract, policies and procedures relevant to CJOs funded work.  
• Ensure that small grants woman receive are appropriate working closely with finance, social work students and support worker(s) or volunteer.
• Take full ownership of strategic fundraising for the service, identifying funding sources and making direct applications, alongside the Director and fundraising team.  

Wellbeing

• Ensure the service is delivered within CJOs Community based approach to Wellbeing and that a therapeutic approach is embedded in your practice.
• Attend regular clinical supervision
• Ensure that your staff team attend regular clinical supervision.
• Lead and manage the Thinking Space facilitator and bi-weekly debriefs alongside working synergistically with CJOs Clinical Lead.

Operational

• Along with your team, to always work in the best interest of CJO and to avoid any action that may bring CJO and or its activities into disrepute.
• To undertake any other duty commensurate with the position of Service Lead and as required by your line manager.
• To engage in one’s own performance management through training and development as required.

Treasury and Cash Manager | 12-months | £500 - £600 per day (Inside IR35) | UK - Remote

For a large, complex international organisation which operates in more than 80 currencies with over 80 banking partners in 100+ countries, we're recruiting an Interim Cash, Risk and Treasury Manager. Reporting to the Corporate Treasurer, this role will implement all aspects of corporate treasury policy, processes, controls, analysis and investment strategies including cash management, financing and investment activities, risk management, and loss prevention. The interim Treasury Manager will build relationships with banks and will identify ways to improve in-country banking and repatriation of cash, including liquidity, cash forecasting, and debt management.

Main Duties:

• Manage the banking platforms and processes including the European zero balancing cash pool
• Optimise cash-flow and improve cash flow forecasting across the business, optimising investment income and work in partnership with Shared Services, and Country Finance teams
• Support the identification and releasing of trapped cash overseas, working with in-country colleagues and the Tax and Status team as well as Financial Control
• Manage the Foreign Currency liquidity requirements
• Support the development and implementation of Treasury Management Policy and controls

ABOUT TRAIN 

TRAIN is a youth work charity based in South Oxfordshire. We support young people aged 10 to 18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas, especially those who are under-served. 

Young people in our communities are facing complex challenges. Mental health struggles, pressures at school, family instability and the impact of poverty can leave them feeling isolated or overlooked. Too often, they don’t have access to the right support at the right time. TRAIN exists to change that. We offer trusted relationships with adults outside positions of authority, safe spaces where young people can be themselves, and opportunities to grow in confidence, make positive choices and feel part of their community.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

As Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, your main focus will be trusts and foundations: researching opportunities, writing persuasive applications and producing clear reports. You’ll also play a part in growing support from corporates, community fundraising, individual donors and major gifts, helping to build a broader base of income over time. 

Alongside this, you’ll lead on communications. That means keeping our website and social channels current, producing supporter newsletters, and sharing our story more widely through PR and campaigns. You’ll help make sure the difference TRAIN makes for young people is seen and understood by funders, partners and the local community. 

It’s a hands-on role, well-suited to someone who enjoys writing, building relationships and juggling different projects. You don’t need to be an experienced fundraiser — we’re open to people with transferable skills, whether from corporate, public or third sector backgrounds. What matters most is that you can communicate clearly, organise your workload, and are motivated by making a difference for young people. 

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the rest of the team. This is a part-time role of approximately 30 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot with hybrid working, but for the right candidate we will consider a fully remote arrangement. 

SALARY AND BENEFITS 

• Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 FTE (pro-rated, depending on experience) 

• Contract: Permanent, part-time, approx. 30 hours per week. We can be flexible on the exact number and when they are worked.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Fundraising (approx. 80%) 

• Pipeline and planning – work with the CEO to keep a clear fundraising plan, with trusts and foundations as the main focus alongside manageable growth in corporates, community, and individual giving. 

• Trusts and foundations – research prospects, build a live pipeline, and write strong, tailored bids. Prepare accurate budgets and gather evidence from the team to strengthen proposals. 

• Reporting and stewardship – deliver timely reports, thank funders and donors well, and manage renewals and uplift opportunities. 

• Relationship development – nurture links with local businesses, community groups and potential major donors. Prepare simple proposals and support fundraising events or activities as needed. 

• Systems and compliance – maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines and outcomes. Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and charity regulations. 

Communications (approx. 20%) 

• Supporter communications – produce engaging newsletters, updates and thank-yous that connect donors and partners with TRAIN’s impact. 

• Digital presence – update the website and social media channels with accurate, timely content that reflects TRAIN’s work and values. 

• PR and profile – share stories with local media, partners and networks. Ensure TRAIN’s messaging is clear, consistent and accessible. 

• Community engagement – promote TRAIN’s profile, youth offer, brand and presence in the community. 

General 

• Work closely with the CEO to align fundraising and comms priorities. 

• Collaborate with youth work staff to gather stories, quotes and data that demonstrate TRAIN’s impact. 

• Represent TRAIN at meetings and community events. 

• Contribute to the life of a small, collaborative team. 

ABOUT YOU 

We don’t expect you to have a long career in fundraising behind you. What matters most is that you can write clearly and persuasively, build relationships with people, and organise your workload to meet deadlines. If you’ve developed these skills in another sector and are keen to bring them into the charity world, we’d love to hear from you. Just as important, you’ll bring a genuine passion for TRAIN’s mission and a belief in the difference youth work makes. 

Essential qualities 

• Strong written communication skills: able to produce clear, persuasive bids, reports and updates. 

• Good at building relationships, whether with colleagues, partners or supporters. 

• Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple deadlines. 

• Comfortable working independently but also a collaborative team member. 

• Confident using IT tools (Microsoft Office, online research, basic social media platforms).

Desirable qualities 

• Experience of fundraising, bid writing or income generation in any setting.
