Join us as a Retrofit Advisor and help shape the future of self-funded home energy improvements in the West of England.
We’re expanding our well-established retrofit advice service and are looking for someone passionate about supporting homeowners to act. You’ll play a key role in developing our new home visit service and, over time, contribute to delivering our in-house HEEP retrofit assessment service.
Operating in the West of England Combined Authority region, we specialise in guiding homeowners through the self-funded retrofit journey – from initial advice and home visits through to the installation of energy-saving measures. You’ll provide trusted, impartial guidance to help homeowners make informed decisions about improving the comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability of their homes.
As part of this role, you’ll also be involved in shaping the launch of our upcoming landlord services, helping private landlords understand their retrofit responsibilities and supporting them with tailored advice and practical steps to upgrade their properties. In addition, you will help support tenants.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Providing independent, tailored, and high-quality advice to homeowners on retrofit and energy efficiency measures
• Conducting remote and in-person home energy advice visits
• Working with householders to identify suitable improvements and helping them plan next steps
• Collaborating with our wider retrofit team to ensure a joined-up experience for clients
• Supporting the development and delivery of our Home Energy Efficiency Plan (HEEP) assessment service
• Taking an active role in the day-to-day management and delivery of other retrofit and energy-related projects.
This is a great opportunity to influence how retrofit advice is delivered in a growing, self-funded market. The role combines technical understanding with strong communication skills, ensuring every homeowner receives the guidance and confidence they need to move forward.
If successful, you’ll be supported to complete both Retrofit Assessor and Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) training, with dedicated time set aside to help you achieve these qualifications promptly and with confidence.

• Help convert interest into action through timely follow-up, home visits, and practical guidance.
• Provide tailored advice to landlords on improving the energy performance of their rental properties.
• Refer customers to appropriate services, accredited installers, or partners where necessary.
Home Visits
• Conduct home visits to provide personalised retrofit advice, including the use of thermal imaging to identify areas of heat loss.
• If required, training will be provided for thermal imaging to support your assessments and recommendations.
• Guide homeowners through the retrofit process, offering practical solutions to improve energy efficiency in their properties.
HEEP Assessments & Support
• Support the future roll-out of our Home Energy Efficiency Plan (HEEP) service, including the provision of detailed retrofit assessments, ventilation strategies, and heating system evaluations.
• Help develop tailored retrofit improvement plans based on individual property conditions and customer needs.
• Training may be available to carry out HEEP surveys, including the delivery of reports to homeowners outlining the benefits of moving forward with retrofit projects.
Project Delivery & Operations
• This is a varied role that will involve working across multiple projects, requiring a dynamic and adaptable approach.
• Contribute to the day-to-day management of Retrofit West and related projects, ensuring smooth delivery and high-quality service.
• Maintain accurate client records and progress updates using our CRM system.
• Provide feedback and ideas to improve tools, processes, and the overall customer journey.
• Collaborate closely with the wider Retrofit West team, to deliver a joined-up service.
Training & Development
• If successful, you’ll be supported to complete both Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) training and Retrofit Assessor/Retrofit related, with dedicated time set aside to help you achieve these qualifications promptly and with confidence.
• You will be given a mentor to guide and support your training and on-going development.
