This is an exciting time to join Dementia UK’s growing Community Fundraising team as a Community Fundraising Executive (Acquisition), which is expanding in response to sustained year-on-year growth and our ambitious five-year organisational strategy.
You’ll be at the forefront of inspiring new supporters to take action, creating engaging website and digital content and leading national acquisition campaigns that empower individuals, groups and communities to make a difference for families affected by dementia. Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Digital Marketing and Communications, you’ll ensure our digital presence is vibrant, accessible and aligned with supporter needs. Reporting to the Senior Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever-increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
- Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail, with excellent customer care
- Prioritise answering incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to the Senior Supporter Care Manager
- Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
- Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
- Be responsible for thanking our supporters, including by letter, email and phone, dispatch of information and fundraising materials
- Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
- Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing, administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date. This will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
- Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
- Manage the removal process and consent process
- Assist with sending out problem payment letters
- Following up cancelled regular payments as part of the winback process
- Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on the Database
- Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
- Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
- Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Senior Supporter Care Manager and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.

Summary of the role:

About the role
We’re searching for a Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to oversee a sector-leading, multi-channel appeal programme to increase numbers of gifts and donors to the University. Following the launch of Imperial’s bold and ambitious strategy we are preparing to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign. As Supply Chain Manager within our Finance & Assurance directorate, you'll be one of the internal expert colleagues turn to for procurement strategy, supplier management and contractor compliance. The team:

About the role
We’re looking for a resourceful, experienced public affairs manager to join our dedicated team working to bringjustice, meaningful recognition and lasting health improvements to a community that has suffered as a result of the biggest treatment scandal in NHS history.
This is a rare opportunity to work for an organisation with a high profile within the political and health policy landscape with a 50-year track record of effective advocacy for our small community of people living with genetic and acquired bleeding disorders and their families. Most importantly, this role has the potential to directly improve peoples’ lives.
Around two thirds of our members are impacted by the contaminated blood scandal of the 1970s and 80s, which was recently investigated by the Infected Blood Inquiry. The resulting report in 2024 recommended improved health resources for people with bleeding disorders as well as compensation and support for those infected and affected by the scandal.
Although significant progress has been made, there’s a lot more to do. Maintaining political pressure and keeping this issue in the public eye are essential to ensure our members receive the support and recognition they deserve. As public affairs manager you will bring energy, contacts, knowledge and ideas to strengthen and broaden engagement with MPs, peers and decision-makers.
In addition to our infected blood work, you will support other projects, including challenging gender inequality in accessing treatment and care and ensuring that people living with rare bleeding disorders have access to the latest cutting edge technologies.

We are the only UK-wide charity for all those affected by a genetic bleeding disorder, a community of individuals and families, healthcare professionals and supporters.
For more than 75 years we have campaigned for better treatment, been a source of information and advice and supported people living with life-long conditions.

- Develop our public affairs strategy to forward the policy goals of THS
- Translate the governmenthealth strategy and communicate its impact on the bleeding disorders community.
- Support the APPG on Haemophilia and Contaminated Blood, acting in capacity as THS secretariat to the group
- Develop and maintain relationships with MPs, peers and other health policy stakeholders. Recognising and creating opportunities to promote the work and strategies of THS and raise issues in the houses
- Working closely with the team to lead on the legislative changes which would impact on the infected blood community

The Role
As Head of Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement, you’ll lead the strategic development and delivery of SOS’s public fundraising portfolio – inspiring individuals around the world to take action and give generously for the future of Sumatra’s rainforests and wildlife.
You’ll be responsible for individual giving, digital acquisition and retention, legacies, appeals and campaigns, and supporter events.
