The opportunity
We are looking for a Communications Officer to play a key supporting role in the smooth running of our day-to-day communications - from managing the social calendar, compiling email updates, to updating website content. You’ll help our small team to continuously improve the quality and consistency of our communications outputs for United for Global Mental Health and its partners.

About you
Our ideal candidate is a dependable communicator who enjoys the day-to-day delivery of communications - planning and scheduling content, creating and posting on social media, drafting newsletters, updating the website, and producing simple graphics and videos. They are organised, detail-oriented, and help keep our communications running smoothly. They will also understand how to communicate across different geographies and audiences, and bring some familiarity with the UN system, as well as experience working in INGO or global health advocacy contexts.
The role
Key components of the role include:
- Social media content development - collaborate with internal subject specialists to produce consistent and frequent on-brand written and visual content for social channels, in support of brand and advocacy goals. You’ll use Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and AgoraPulse for this.
- Email - develop, write and send UnitedGMH’s regular email newsletter, working with internal staff to source news, updates and relevant content tailored for email subscribers.
- Website development - develop, maintain and update content for the UnitedGMH website - including uploading content and editing pages.
- Social media channel and community management - lead on day-to-day management and posting on UnitedGMH social media channels, including X, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Manage paid social campaigns where required. Use monitoring tools to manage social media comments (organic and paid).
- Brand guardian: Be a steward of the UnitedGMH brand, helping to ensure consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all external organisational outputs, maintaining high standards of design.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting - create regular analytic reports for social, website and email channels.
- Editorial planning and communications calendar management - lead on the maintenance of the organisation’s communications calendar, ensuring content across channels is planned-in-advance of key advocacy moments.
- Team support - support the communications team through project management, meeting management, processing supplier invoices, keeping journalist lists up-to-date, and other responsibilities where needed.
- Ad-hoc support for the Global Mental Health Action Network - you’ll also provide a supporting function as needed for the GMHAN team, including tasks related to website and social management, plus others where needed.
Requirements
- Understanding, and experience in use, of online channels (incl. website content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress and Squarespace, a broad spectrum of social media platforms and email marketing through Mailchimp)
- An excellent copywriter, with demonstrable experience crafting copy for different audiences - including for social media and email newsletters
- Strong research and proofreading skills, adapted to key audiences
- Comfortable prioritising and delivering on multiple pieces of work against tight timeframes
- Highly organised individual with experience of team administration support
- An understanding of using digital project management tools e.g. Trello
- An interest in mental health, advocacy and international development
- Strong relationship management skills
- Willingness to travel at least twice per annum and more if required
Desirable
- Experience working in an advocacy / international NGO environment within a fast-paced globally distributed staff team
- Demonstrable experience in working with journalists

The Role
Working closely with EFN’s Executive Director, you will lead on growing the amount of funding flowing to environmental causes from UK funders – including trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals – by connecting and engaging with those not yet funding environmental causes at scale, and inspiring and supporting them to start giving or to give more.

Community and Partnership Development
- Reconnect Dementia Concern with its local community through relationship-building, events, and partnerships.
- Represent the charity externally with warmth and confidence, growing our network of local supporters, volunteers, and champions.
- Work closely with the CEO and Trustees to build mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses, groups, and influencers.
- Oversee the charity’s website and digital presence, ensuring our communications are clear, inspiring, and supporter focussed.
- Lead on campaigns and public relations that raise awareness of dementia and the charity’s impact in West London.
About you:
You will have experience in:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and develop our fundraising team, shaping a cross-stream strategy and an integrated communications plan. You’ll be responsible for setting the strategic direction for fundraising, communications and events across the organisation. By doing so you will raise JET’s national profile, grow our supporter base and significantly increase income to support programme expansion.
You’ll bring strong experience across multiple fundraising streams, with a proven track record of securing significant multi-year funding and building lasting relationships with funders—both individuals and organisations. Alongside leading our fundraising efforts, you’ll take ownership of our brand, ensuring clarity and consistency in our messaging, helping partners tell our story, and securing positive media coverage.
You’ll lead the development of campaigns, fundraising and marketing activities, and digital engagement that not only enhance our national profile but also drive supporter engagement and income growth.
This is a home-based role, with travel required to and within the regions where we operate, including attendance at key events.
About you
You will provide strategic leadership across fundraising, communications, marketing and events. Your work will be closely aligned with JET’s five-year strategy, enabling continued growth in funding and programme delivery.
You’ll bring a wealth of experience in leading fundraising and communications at a strategic level, with a strong understanding of the sector and a track record of securing and sustaining major gifts and partnerships. Strength & Stem is a charity and social enterprise that uses floristry to empower female modern slavery survivors. We want to see female survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking restored from their trauma, empowered for the future, and able to sustain a good quality of life. We achieve our vision by offering an evidence-based, holistic programme. It incorporates tailored skills training (including vocational floristry, prevocational and wellbeing skills training), work experience, mentorship, and a supportive community. Role summary
The Programme Coordinator plays a key operational role at the heart of Strength & Stem, ensuring the smooth delivery of our programmes and events. This includes coordinating a series of 12 weekly floristry and skills workshops, supporting the mentoring scheme, and organising independent events such as our annual graduation celebration, alumni gatherings and ad-hoc floristry workshops.

About the role ofHead of Principal Donors
As Head of Principal Donors, you will lead and manage the Foundation’s philanthropy programme, working closely with our senior leadership team and our founder to personally cultivate and steward the Foundation’s principal donors.
