At Groundwork we believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. We help 16 to 25-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling to transform their lives. Many of the young people we help are in, or leaving, care. They may be facing issues such as homelessness, suffering with their mental health or have been in trouble with the police.

Our programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation to enable them to reach their full potential.

Transform Lives: – Working as part of our team you’ll empower disadvantaged young people, helping them to create some stability in their lives, develop key skills and build their confidence.
Support communities: – You’ll be collaborating with partner agencies and community organisations to make a significant contribution to the local community.

The King’s Trust Team Programme recruits and runs regular 12-week personal development programmes for young people aged 16-25 for the chance to gain new skills, earn a qualification and meet like-minded people. Here at Groundwork we have been delivering The King’s Trust Team Programme in Wigan and Leigh for 25 years and the key aspects of the programme are:

>Two weeks’ work experience

You’ll also manage the Legacy Case Team inbox, supporting case handlers by allocating new cases in line with policy. You'll continue to expand your knowledge, staying up to date with changes in probate, legislation, and best practices to contribute to the ongoing success of the Legacy team.

Purpose of the Job

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s passionate about supporting the delivery of the youth engagement strategy for the #iwill Movement and ensuring they are at the centre of our work at UK Youth.

Reporting to the Youth Development Project Manager, you will support the development and delivery of opportunities for young people to engage in our work towards our collective goals. Working within the Network Delivery department, you will be responsible for organising and delivering a range of projects and workstreams to enable young people across the UK Youth and #iwill Movement to express their views, have them listened to and to create positive change. You will create positive relationships with young people, so that our work is driven by their voices and experiences, helping to develop and deliver a range of opportunities and activities to build and engage networks of young people. You will help empower young people to become active citizens and creative positive change, by creating innovative ways for young people to engage in various networks through volunteering, social action and campaigning projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the effective delivery of a programme of development and engagement activities with young people across the #iwill Movement

• Manage the scheduling and organisation of activities across project workstreams, ensuring project management processes are in place to enable excellent standards of delivery

• Facilitate young people to build their skills and confidence so that young people’s participation and contribution are maximised and able to express their views

•Support the growth of a diverse range of networks involving young people across all UK regions, including with our nation partners. Working in partnership, develop the networks to be outcomes-focused and self-led on digital platforms

• Develop relationships with a range of stakeholders which may include youth workers and leaders of youth organisations, young people, nation partners, funders, and cross-sector leaders to create and deliver an inclusive programme for young people

• Working closely with colleagues across the charity to co-ordinate a range of events and opportunities to provide opportunities for young people to engage and connect with the wider work of UK Youth

•Communicate the benefits of the UK Youth and #iwill Movement and progress against our priorities to organisations and individuals, through a variety of channels, updates and specific marketing campaigns

• Work with the Network Delivery function to support young people to be empowered to lead and share best practise and expertise

• Develop content on agreed digital platforms to engage and connect young people and networks across the UK

Experience we're after

• A nationally recognised youth work qualification or ability to demonstrate experience of frontline youth work delivery, understanding of safeguarding and data protection is highly desirable

• Experience of successfully managing projects

• Experience of working with young volunteers and/or social action projects

• Experience and understanding of connecting networks and user involvement

• Experience of developing networks and/or communities of young people across the UK

Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Knowledge Team, working alongside two existing Research Associates and a Data Analyst. 

You will be integral in delivering research, data, and insights that support organisational development and programme delivery across NYA.

We are looking for an experienced mixed-methods researcher with a strong understanding of social research and evaluation approaches. Ideally, you will have experience working in or alongside the youth sector and be confident using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

You’ll need to be flexible, proactive, and a strong communicator, able to explain complex ideas to varied audiences. 

This role is ideal for someone looking to make a tangible difference through evidence-led approaches that shape policy, practice, and impact in youth work.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Designing and delivering research projects using a range of methods including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Supporting the development of the NYA research and data hub, including external research collation and data visualisation.
• Leading on evaluations to meet funder requirements and contribute to NYA’s growing evidence base.
• Analysing data from NYA programmes to support impact measurement.
• Promoting evidence-based practice across NYA and the wider youth sector.
• Communicating findings clearly through reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Managing research projects and collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver on time and to quality.
• Responding to internal and external research enquiries.

The ideal candidate will have experience in social research, familiarity with various research methodologies, and the ability to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences.

We also provide consultancy and training support to the industry on climate storytelling within a commercial context. THE ROLE

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Director of Finance and Operationsto join our team, to provide strategic and financial leadership and support to Climate Spring as it continues to grow

Key responsibilities:

• Strategic leadership on all finance and operational matters affecting Climate Spring’s activities
• Manage and oversee the organisation’s budget in line with the organisation’s strategy
• Support the Executive Director and Director of Impact with fundraising strategy and funder management.
• Oversee the financial management of the organisation
• Provide financial and operational leadership for the organisation’s establishment of a new production fund
• Prepare and present financial reports for board and funders.
• Manage relevant internal and departmental operational developments

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. If you have fundraising experience and are keen to join a charity with ambition and an amazing supporter base, then this could be the role for you.

Please note the successful candidate will need to live within the region (Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire), have access to a car and be willing to travel around their region. Chief Executive Officer
£60-65,000 per annum
Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office

Our client are an ambitious charity providing essential services within their community, and this is an exciting time to join the organisation as their new Chief Executive. The scope of their work and demand for their services has grown considerably, answering the needs they have seen within their community.

After recently merging local branches, the new CEO will play a vital role in supporting staff and shaping the future, providing vision and strategic direction for the charity.

Working closely with the Board, you’ll be leading the development of the charity's services in line with need whilst also increasing their profile, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and cultivating positive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure the profile and impact of the charity and its services. Effectively engaging staff, volunteers and external stakeholders, while continuing to secure new funding streams will be key to your success. You will be a natural advocate and champion for equality, diversity and inclusion for our clients, staff and volunteers.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Proven senior leadership experience and a passion for leading and enabling teams to thrive and develop.
• Experience of running and improving high-quality, value and volume client-facing services at a senior level in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Excellent financial and business acumen with a track record of successful business development, income generation and income diversification.
• Comprehensive strategic business planning experience and ability to deliver on key targets both strategically and operationally.
• Strong relationship-building, networking and influencing of external stakeholders.

Safeguarding: 

The role-holder will have experience working according to ethical and good practice safeguarding principles. They will be expected to adhere to and promote Amna’s Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Policies as they will be involved and responsible for programmes working with children and vulnerable groups in different settings. 

How Will You Make a Difference? 

Amna is seeking a compassionate and experienced Arabic speaking facilitator to join Amna’s team of trainers, with therapeutic/clinical background. As a Trainer & Facilitator your responsibilities will involve delivering training sessions and group facilitation to support and create learning spaces for training participants on themes centred around trauma and identity informed psychosocial healing care with displaced communities. The role holder is expected to work on multiple responses, and will lead Amna’s Gaza and Syria responses, while working closely with Arabic speaking team members.  

Amna’s identity and trauma informed approach is centred around community healing practices with communities that aim to restore participants sense of safety, belonging, agency and joy. Amna services are co-created with the communities being worked with and we prioritise refugee participation and leadership in service design and delivery wherever possible. 

The role holders need to have experience working with communities affected by adversity, including displacement, war and conflict, poverty, abuse or marginalisation. Given the nature of Amna’s work in emergency settings with displaced communities, applicants need to be comfortable working in environments where there is uncertainty, change and exposure to distress.  

Specifically, successful candidates will have a strong experience in following areas: 

1. Work with children and families in an emergency context; 

1. Therapeutic experience – Individual and Groups; 

1. Community work experience; 

1. Designing and delivering trainings across different context; 

Amna will train role holders in Amna’s training and facilitation approach.

Responsibilities include: 

• To deliver high quality, interactive trainings in person and online.   

• To lead on Amna’s Gaza and Syria responses, working closely with a diverse, cross-cultural team and partners.  

• To develop Amna’s training materials including engaging content, structure, visuals and activities.  

• To provide ongoing support to Amna’s training participants from a range of countries on how to set up safe, community healing spaces with displaced communities.

• To facilitate learning and support groups for Amna training participants.   

• To coordinate the preparation and delivery of in person and online trainings.  

• Outside of Amna’s trainings, to maintain engagement with Amna’s training participants to share and exchange learning. 

• Travel to various countries to visit, train and observe partner organisations.

• To work in collaboration with all departments within Amna to achieve Amna’s objectives. 

  Qualifications and Experience:  

• Minimum three years of experience working therapeutically with communities affected by adversities. 

• Minimum three years of experience delivering therapeutically informed community programmes in emergency or acute contexts using creative tools. 

• Experience working in a therapeutically informed way, e.g. working with sensitivity to the needs and experiences of the communities worked with.   

• Comfortable working in English – spoken and written.  

• Comfortable in designing and delivering content in Arabic.

• Confident computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.  

• Able and willing to travel for work (if you have travel restrictions to some countries, please notify us in your application).

• Right to work in the country of residency.  

Desirable: 

• Life or work experience with refugee or/and displaced communities. 

• Education or experience in psychology, social studies such as community work, social work, intercultural education, or creative healing practices. 

• Therapeutic training (minimum 2 years training). 

• Work experience coordinating / project management role. 

• Experience in delivering trainings to groups with mixed genders, languages, cultures, ethnicities, religions, (dis)abilities.
