Humane World for Animals UK is part of one of the largest animal protection organisations in the world, striving for a better future for animals through advocacy, education, and hands-on programmes. About the position

Responsible for the strategic leadership and effective delivery of Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns, this role is an exciting opportunity to create change at scale. The purpose of the position is to deliver Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns including, at present, ensuring the successful passage into law of a Bill to ban imports of hunting trophies into the UK. The role will be responsible for identifying opportunities to progress wildlife protection in the UK, including for Humane World's global priority initiatives to promote humane human-wildlife co-existence, and to effectively tackle wildlife trade including for 'exotic' companion animals.

Key areas of responsibility: 

• Create strategies, workplans and messaging for Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns, including the campaign for a hunting trophy import ban, towards achievement of agreed goals;
• Commissioning and analysing research to expand and enhance Humane World UK’s understanding of welfare problems for wild animals, in order to develop informed solutions and into advocacy materials
• Work closely with Humane World UK’s public affairs staff to deliver compelling and informed advocacy to UK political stakeholders to secure improved wildlife protection, through both passage and enforcement of UK laws;
• Work in collaboration with Humane World UK’s Communications staff to educate external audiences in wildlife welfare problems, and build strong and focused public support for better treatment and legal protections for wildlife, including through working with media, celebrities and influencers as amplifiers;
• Represent Humane World UK at stakeholder groups relating to wildlife welfare and conservation;
• Ensure that fundraising colleagues are equipped with the necessary information on strategies and impact to make and report against successful funding proposals for Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns;
• Regular, proactive internal communication and alignment with Humane World’s global goals for wild animals, and reporting on progress towards agreed targets.

You will have experience of building strategic relationships with stakeholders, in both the private and public sector, in order to deliver agreed goals. You will have ambition and drive for creating positive change for animal welfare; a willingness to constantly learn and develop the most impactful, cost-effective, audience-tailored approaches; and your work will be solidly underpinned by regular evaluation of progress and impact with a view to further improving strategies.

Key responsibilities

Email Marketing

• Plan and execute targeted, data-driven email marketing campaigns aligned with the eoa’s business calendar and goals, using segmentation, A/B testing, and marketing automation tools.
• Optimise email performance and reach through continuous testing, tracking, and refinement, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
• Report campaign outcomes and performance insights regularly to stakeholders to inform future strategies

Website Management

• Manage and maintain the eoa website, ensuring timely, relevant, and SEO-optimised content through collaboration with content creators.
• Monitor analytics and user behaviour to enhance navigation, performance, and overall user experience.
• Ensure website compliance with accessibility, GDPR, and brand guidelines, coordinating with all stakeholders as needed.

Digital Strategy and Analytics

• Align and optimise digital activity across all our digital channels (website, membership community platform, and social channels) with eoa goals, collaborating across teams and supporting cross-channel campaigns.
• Monitor performance and trends, reporting on KPIs and providing insights for improvement, while staying current with best practices.

• Competence in Google Analytics and SEO best practices.

NACCOM is recruiting a new permanent External Affairs Manager to lead the work of our small but highly impactful External Affairs team.

About the role: 

NACCOM is a national network of over 135 frontline organisations and charities across the UK, working together to end destitution amongst people seeking asylum, refugees and other migrants who aren’t able to access public funds because of their immigration status.

We do this by campaigning collectively for a fairer, more humane immigration system that doesn’t leave people destitute, and by sharing our learning, innovation, and resources across our membership to increase the level of accommodation provision and support the network is able to provide.

Job purpose:

The External Affairs Manager will work closely with the Director and provide vital support to NACCOM and its members by: 

• Ensuring the strategic planning, management and alignment of communications, policy, research, campaigns, and advocacy as part of the External Affairs function at NACCOM. 

• Ensuring NACCOM’s external affairs functions feed from and into our network development work and our Community Ambassador / Research programme 

• Growing and safeguarding NACCOM’s brand identity, integrity and strategic positioning across all our external channels, networks and audiences. 

• Line-managing and supporting the Policy and Research Co-ordinator, Community Research Facilitator and part-time Communications Co-ordinator (currently covered by a freelancer) as well as managing any external consultants NACCOM works with across the External Affairs function. 

• Along with the Director, acting as spokesperson for NACCOM.

• Overseeing the spend against budget for External Affairs-related work. 

• Representing NACCOM at key, high-level meetings and coalitions, including with journalists, decision-makers and partners.

The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

The Brand Manager will play a crucial role in the planning, development and implementation of brand activity across the charity. The role is key to driving growth across brand, fundraising and engagement.

Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and the wider Brand department, this role will put the Alzheimer’s Research UK brand at the heart of everything we do, business partnering across the organisation to embed the brand internally, maximise opportunities to amplify the brand, and drive brand consistency.

The Brand Manager will liaise across the whole organisation, working particularly closely with key contacts across Marketing and Fundraising, Communications and Policy.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Work closely with the Senior Brand Manager to develop and deliver the organisation-wide brand strategy, driving engagement across the charity.

· Act as an internal brand consultant across the organisation, collaborating with teams to amplify the brand and maximise brand opportunities.

· Lead brand input into integrated campaign moments across the charity, ensuring consistent look and feel and aligned messaging.

· Inspire and engage colleagues internally, delivering internal communications to ensure that the brand is alive, understood and actively developed.

· Drive forward planning to ensure that plans are co-ordinated, regularly reviewed, and the brand is measured effectively.

· Support the Senior Brand Manager and existing Brand Manager to deliver Alzheimer’s Research UK’s key brand campaigns.

· Be a day-to-day contact for external agencies and freelancers where relevant.

· Work with the Insight team to track and evaluate brand health and the impact of brand campaign activity.

What we are looking for:

· Excellent experience in a brand role.

· Excellent experience of developing creative and applying a master brand to products, content and communications.

· Experience of leading multi-channel brand or marketing communications campaigns with a good knowledge of the full marketing mix.

· Experience of working with corporate partners to develop communications that amplify the brand.

· Proven experience in project planning, management and delivery.

· Experience of working with external creative agencies and freelancers.

· Strong experience of developing key messaging for individual products and campaigns.

· Experience of measuring and reporting on brand health and campaign performance.

· The ability to work at pace, delivering multiple complex projects to meet specified deadlines.

· Clear and concise communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to cut through complexity.

· Ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders at all levels and get buy-in to new ideas.

· Understanding of the range of media channels and platforms used for brand marketing.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Wherever you are in your career, you’ll help bring the Inland Waterways Association’s stories to life online, showcasing the power of community action, restoration, and environmental impact across the UK’s waterways.

You’ll be supported by our campaigns director and a part-time Brand/Social Strategist, and contribute to high-quality, mission-aligned content.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and schedule engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, BlueSky, TikTok and LinkedIn. All content is primarily organic.
• Design visuals using tools such as Canva (or similar) and write clear, on-brand copy
• Align content with IWA’s three storytelling pillars: advocacy & protection, restoration & regeneration, and environmental impact
• Source and repurpose volunteer-submitted content (e.g. photos, quotes, stories)
• Support user-generated content initiatives (e.g. takeovers, calendar campaigns)
• Monitor and respond to comments/messages, with support from the team
• Ensure posts follow digital accessibility best practices
• Track engagement metrics and contribute insights during monthly content planning
• Collaborate on evolving IWA’s storytelling and visual style

JOB OVERVIEW

The Advice Services Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of welfare and housing advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have experience of delivering front-line benefits and/or housing advice, strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that casework and projects are delivered on time.

In 2025, BIAS is expanding its successful Brent-based welfare and housing advice service into Haringey borough. The Advice Services Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
• Providing support, supervision and training to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
• Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff and partner organisations.
• Creating a positive working environment in which equity and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services in both Brent and Haringey boroughs, and contributing to further expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one to two days’ work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS complies with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

These are the basic duties required of the Advice Services Manager. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice offices in Willesden and Haringey[1] but there may be some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

ABOUT BIAS

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-Friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

What the job involves

We’re seeking a Website Content Officer to join our Integrated Marketing and Media team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing and improving the content on our website, making sure it’s clear, accessible and meets the needs of our diverse audience.

Acting as the ‘voice of the user’, you’ll be responsible for publishing updates via our content management system (CMS), maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and accessibility across the site. You’ll oversee key areas, including the homepage, keeping information accurate, up to date, and easy to navigate.

You’ll work closely with teams across the Prostate Cancer UK to help shape their messages for the web, offering advice, guidance, and training where needed. Day to day, you’ll manage content schedules, review pages to identify improvements, and create or edit content to keep the site fresh and effective. You’ll also use digital analytics tools to monitor performance and suggest ways we can enhance the user experience.

As part of the Digital Marketing and Channels team, you’ll work closely with our email and social media teams to ensure our owned channels are aligned. You’ll lead on the delivery of our regular ‘News and Views’ articles in conjunction with our Strategic Communications team, and you’ll work closely with our Web Operations team to help identify and test new website features and fix technical issues.

Please note internally this role is known as Digital Channels Officer – Web.

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in writing, editing, and proofreading web content to serve a specific audience. You'll be skilled in using content management systems (ideally Umbraco) to build and update web pages.

You’ll have the technical skills to author and edit basic HTML, as well as prepare and edit images for the web. A good understanding of interpreting website analytics, including experience with Google Analytics and search engine optimisation techniques, is essential. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex analytics and technical details clearly and accessibly to colleagues who may not have a technical background.

In this role, you’ll need to manage priorities effectively and work well under tight deadlines. You’ll be confident negotiating and handling challenging conversations when necessary.  Staying up to date with current web tools and digital content trends will be a real advantage as we continually improve our site.
