The Kennington Association (KA) is a registered charity and active community organisation based in North Lambeth. In 2013, the KA rescued the historic Lollard Street Adventure Playground (LSAP) from impending closure, brought on by local government spending cuts. With sustained funding from leading grant makers, the playground has since gone from strength to strength, winning Coolest Place to Play in the 2015 London Play Adventure Play Awards. It is now embarking on further development with a capital programme to replace the indoor play spaces, having already replaced the outdoor play structures and built new changing facilities which make our two sports pitches accessible to children with special needs. The Role

About the role 

Are you passionate about supporting people who are living with a serious rare condition? Do you get a kick out of someone else’s joy as they reach their fundraising target? Are you a meticulously organised person who loves sending thoughtful packages through the post? 

We are looking for a Community Support Administrator to enhance our offer to people diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, and their friends and families . You’ll help our successful fundraising and support teams to do more.

Reporting to our Community Fundraising and Events Manager 

We are passionate about creating opportunities for our community to support us in ways that create joy in their own lives and help them feel empowered in the face of serious illness. Our fundraising activities are designed to help tackle the isolation and other difficulties that are faced by those living with a rare and serious condition. You’ll help us make sure that fundraising for The AAT is a life-affirming and joyful experience.

Our small team are fully remote across the country. You’ll be based on your own in our small office/post room in Birmingham with regular face-to-face meetings with your manager (who lives locally). You’ll keep in touch with the rest of the team via Microsoft Teams.

The first line of support 

As a small charity representing an ultra rare condition, the people we support and the people who support us through fundraising are often one and the same.

You’ll sit within the fundraising team, but your role spans the organisation, and you’ll also deliver essential administration support for our Support Team. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity who publish information about aplastic anaemia for patients and families. You will post booklets to patients and to hospitals, heading to the post office twice a week to fulfil orders. You’ll also support our volunteer moderators to administer the Patient Support Facebook Group. 

This is a varied and interesting role which gives you the opportunity to see your impact first-hand as you’ll be interacting directly with people whose lives are affected by aplastic anaemia. You will support our community with understanding and empathy. 

As a Community Support Administrator, you will...  

• Manage our online shop, fulfilling orders promptly. Track inventory and re-order items that are running low 

• Send thank you messages and cards to supporters 

• Update our CRM and keep up to date and accurate data on our community 

• Create and schedule social media posts and event listings on our website.

• Answer general emails, social media messages, and other communications and/or ensure they are answered by the right person from our team 

• Provide support and guidance to our volunteers including onboarding and supervision 

• Pitch in with occasional event admin and organising 

• Twice a year attend our Staff Conference for (2-3 weekdays with overnight stay) to work directly with the full team 

For example, a typical week could include: 

• Sending out patient information booklets to hospitals who order it via our website 

• Finding out the t-shirt sizes of everyone on our Great North Run team and posting t-shirts out to them 

• Producing a report from our CRM system, and sending an email to everyone on it to invite them to an event 

• Counting up all our Christmas cards and ordering more from a printers website 

• Creating a thoughtful, personal package for a child who is in hospital, and taking it to the post office. 

• Booking meeting rooms and hotel rooms for an upcoming Staff Conference

• You will understand the joy of beautiful post! You’ll package and send thoughtful, happy packages that put a smile on people's faces when they are having a tough time. 

• You are an independent worker! You’ll be in the office solo most of the time, so you need to be self-motivated, comfortable reaching out when you have questions, and happy in a quiet room (with a big window and leafy view!)

Aplastic anaemia is a rare and life-threatening condition caused by the bone marrow not functioning properly. 

In people with aplastic anaemia, the bone marrow fails to produce enough of all three types of blood cells – red, white and platelets. 

Aplastic anaemia treatment is very similar to the treatment someone might have for leukaemia - but because it's so rare, families often don't have access to the same information and support. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by aplastic anaemia and funding research into this rare form of bone marrow failure. 

We fund research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and work tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support every aplastic anaemia patient and their loved ones.

Role summary

To support the Head of Fundraising and Communications in the delivery of the communications and fundraising strategy at ReMind UK through planning, production and delivery of on and offline marketing communications. You will work with ReMind UK's Content Executive to plan content and delivery of regular social posts and emails to supporters and beneficiaries as well as design and production of leaflets, posters and adverts. You will manage campaigns to raise the profile of ReMind UK, engaging supporters, partners, local organisations and the public in the organisation's work and reaching out to those affected by dementia ensuring people are aware of our memory services, research studies and post diagnosis support and inspiring people to support our work through fundraising and volunteering.

ReMind UK overview

ReMind UK is an independent charity and internationally renowned centre for research, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers, and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service, private memory assessments and allied activities also provide support to people affected. We are currently in an ambitious phase of development looking to Increase our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research Institutions, both nationally and internationally and with the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

The role

As Marketing Officer, you will play an important role in helping ReMind UK to realise its vision by overseeing marketing for ReMind UK. You will line manage a Content Executive and together you will design, produce and disseminate materials and communications to raise the profile of the organisation and its work, and in turn raise funding to enable ReMind UK to continue its vital research and support for people affected by dementia.

You will plan and deliver an annual calendar of social posts and adverts, emails, marketing and PR activities including digital and print through organic and paid for media, and working with local organisations and groups. Working closely with ReMind UK's Content Officer you will coordinate website updates and content additions.

Key responsibilities

· Line management of ReMind UK's Content Executive to create an annual plan for coordinated marketing campaigns across channels.

· Responsibility for day-to-day management of the charity’s social media channels including Facebook, BlueSky and LinkedIn, delivering consistent promotion of the organisation, ensuring content remains fresh and engaging and moderating accounts to ensure positive PR for the organisation.

· Develop excellent working relationships with external suppliers, publications, local and national press, magazines, TV and Radio to create new opportunities for ReMind UK to publicise its services and support across the region.

· Working with the Head of Fundraising and Communications, produce and deliver a communications strategy that incorporates digital marketing, PR activity and fundraising communications.

· Manage ReMind UK's email management tool - regularly designing and sending tailored emails to beneficiaries and supporters.

• Update and maintain contact and email data on the supporter CRM with supporter and beneficiary contact details and unsubscribes retained in accordance with Data Protection policy and patient and families wishes.

· Measure and report analytics as required by Head of Fundraising & Communications including email and social media engagement rates, website use and content management indicators, exposure to marketing ads placed and awareness created through partnerships with local social prescribers and partner organisations.

· With the Content Executive maintain ReMind UK's website ensuring content is consistently refreshed, added to and tested to ensure optimisation and coherent journeys and user experience for each of our audiences.

· Design marketing materials and internal publications as requested by the ReMind UK staff team.

· Act as brand guardian in the production and use of materials, documents and marketing across the organisation.

· Ensure ReMind UK is marketing its services and support through the use of posters, leaflets and video and maintain the leaflets and materials available in the reception area.

· Manage marketing campaigns through from planning to reporting on impact and results.

•    This is a key role in The National Lottery Heritage Funded project at Mourne Park.  The Project Manager will be required to work on the development and delivery of visitor experience enhancement, countryside access and interpretation projects linked to conservation of Mourne Park’s natural and built heritage through woodland management, creation and restoration schemes.
•    The role will be responsible for the project management and budget responsibility, ensuring all Heritage Fund and Woodland Trust reporting and recording systems are up to date, work programmes are delivered on time across the programme.
•    You will direct the project team delivering all access projects, on site interpretation and in line with the Access & Interpretation Plans for the project.
•    You are responsible for fostering good relations with partners, contractors, interested organisations and individuals, local people, visitors and the media. Identifying, reviewing and meeting with potential partners who could assist the project to meet its objectives and whose objectives could be assisted by the project. 
•    This role is based in Mourne Park, Northern Ireland and will require the successful candidate to travel to site and around Northern Ireland as required.
•    This role is a funded fixed term role until December 2029.
•    This role will require an enhanced DBS check as part of our pre-employment checks.

The Candidate:

•    Hands on experience in project delivery especially in complex, multi-disciplinary projects bringing together a variety of skills from both within and outside the organisation to plan, monitor and deliver projects on time and to budget.
•    You’ll have experience in forestry or conservation land management experience, including experience of volunteer and community engagement.
•    You’ll be an inspiring leader, with experience leading teams and motivating colleagues to deliver projects on time and to budget.
•    You’ll have a collaborative approach, with the ability to work with multiple teams, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders effectively. 
•    You’ll know about delivery of access infrastructure construction and interpretation projects on public and private sites to build an enhanced visitor experience.
•    Strong communication skills, both written and verbally being able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, especially volunteers using a variety of methods to suite the audience. 
•    This role does require regular travel to and from Mourne Park and Northern Ireland. A full UK driving licence is required.

About the Role

As Senior Communications Officer, you will lead on delivering a bold, inclusive communications strategy, raising the profile of the UK’s National Trails and building awareness of their value for people, places and nature.

You’ll create and manage inspiring, accessible campaigns across digital, social and press channels; support National Trail teams across the UK with comms advice; and help shape public and stakeholder engagement. About the Role

The two Communications Officers will work closely and collaboratively to help deliver the diocesan strategy and tell the story of the diverse church communities in the Diocese.

This role will focus particularly on the development and delivery of digital media content including social media campaigns; planning, scripting and filming video content and managing social media channels.

• Create, coordinate and support imaginative communications campaigns to support the diocesan strategy
