Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

About Student Action for Refugees

STAR (Student Action for Refugees) is the national network of students building a society where refugees and asylum seekers are welcomed and can thrive. 

Set up by students at Nottingham University in 1994, STAR is creating a more understanding, just and welcoming society by: 

• empowering young people to be changemakers; 
• providing practical support and connecting local communities through volunteering and student volunteer led community projects; 
• challenging the structural barriers that refugees and asylum seekers face when seeking protection and building new lives in the UK; 
• Sharing trusted information about asylum and the lived experience of refugees to combat misinformation, hostile narratives and instead spread compassion and humanisation 

We have a small staff team who train and support the network and lead on national campaign and advocacy work, with expertise in improving access to higher education for forced migrants.

Here are just some of our highlights from last year:

• 37  STAR university student society groups, across 28  towns and cities, run by 222 STAR student leaders. 
• 262 events were organised by STAR groups to educate, campaign, and fundraise for a more welcoming UK, from art exhibitions to cookery classes and film nights.
• 1,280 refugees and people seeking asylum were supported by 413 volunteers  through 28 community projects and 25 one off volunteering events. 
• 100s of students mobilised to support calls for better treatment of refugees in the UK including standing against detention, for a fairer plan for refugees and to lift the ban on work.
• 88 UK universities now offer sanctuary scholarships for refugee students. The STAR staff team was involved in the development of many of these new scholarships and the improvement of  existing scholarships. We also ran workshops for hundreds of  university staff. 
• 15 STAR groups campaigned for Equal Access at their institutions and 4 won!
• 65 aspiring refugee students were supported by our mentoring project and we provided signposting and advice about accessing HE to over 470 people.

About the Project – “Solta o Jogo”
“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Graphic Designer to bring the visual identity of the project to life. From social media graphics to event branding and promotional materials, you will help ensure the festival’s visual storytelling is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with our mission. Endometriosis UK is the largest UK charity for those with endometriosis. Endometriosis UK works to:

• Provide support to those with endometriosis and their families and friends
• Provide clear, objective information about the condition and its treatments

This is an unpaid role. Reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses will be paid.

Time commitment:

• five Trustee Board meetings a year, including preparation for meetings, reading papers etc; and attendance at an annual strategy day and AGM (held on the same days as Board meetings). Three meetings are held in person on London on a Saturday, with two meetings being virtual evening meetings.
• Trustees have the opportunity to take part in Board sub-groups and project groups to develop aspects of the organisations’ work. Current sub-groups include the Finance Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Sub-Group.

Trustees are also invited to attend Endometriosis UK events.

We are currently recruiting for ONE NEW TRUSTEE to join the board. We are particularly looking for significant experience of charity governance, management and best practice. Examples of how this might have been gained include having worked at a senior level in a charity, or previous trustee experience.

If you are keen to join the Endometriosis UK Board and don’t have this experience, there will be further opportunities over the next year as we will be recruiting for more trustees as Board members reach their maximum length of service. Keep an eye on our social media for more information.

Personal experience of living with, or having a close family member with, endometriosis, is vital on our Board. Whilst we look favourably on applications from those in the endometriosis community, we already have Trustees with first hand lived experience and new trustees do not need to have endometriosis.

Women Empowerment, Education, and Arts & Culture

In rural Uganda, limited access to quality education, economic opportunities for women, and creative expression prevents communities from reaching their full potential. Many families live below the poverty line, and young people often drop out of school due to financial hardship. Women, especially single mothers, lack stable income and professional skills. Artistic and cultural resources are underrepresented, and youth have few outlets to develop their talents and voices.

Toonda addresses these challenges through a community-led approach that combines education, women’s empowerment, and arts & culture, creating a safe and inclusive environment where people gain skills, confidence, and income.

Our solution is to empower people at the grassroots level through a vibrant community hub that offers:

Educational support (school sponsorships, tutoring, digital literacy, reading programs)

Women-led income generation (weaving, tailoring, catering groups – now producing for TK Maxx)

Creative spaces for expression and exchange (annual cultural gala, artist residencies, workshops)

Local tourism initiatives (Airbnb, drumming & weaving workshops) that generate income for sustainability

Online Campaigns – Fundraising & Awareness

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Support TOONDA in planning and running engaging online campaigns to raise awareness and generate donations. You'll help us design and implement strategies across platforms like Betterplace, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and coordinate online fundraising or awareness campaigns

Create or adapt content for different platforms (text, visuals, calls to action)

Schedule and manage campaign timelines

Support with basic social media ads or boost strategies (Meta Ads, Google Ads Grants)

Monitor engagement and suggest improvements

You’re a good fit if you: Have experience with social media campaigns or digital fundraising

Enjoy creative storytelling and simple design (e.g. Canva)

Are familiar with platforms like Betterplace, Facebook, or Instagram

Want to use your skills for a meaningful cause

German is a plus

Impact: Your work will help TOONDA reach new audiences, mobilize support, and secure funding to continue our education, empowerment, and arts programs in rural Uganda.

Join us at RISE Scotland, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of narcissistic abuse. We are working to change outdated laws that fail to protect victims of psychological, emotional, and coercive abuse. Our goal is to bring legal reform and awareness to a form of abuse that is too often misunderstood and dismissed.

What We Need:
We're seeking committed volunteer petition signers to help amplify our cause. You can help by:

• Signing our petitions calling for legislative change

• Sharing petitions on social media, in communities, and with your network

• Spreading awareness about the urgent need for legal recognition of narcissistic abuse

Why It Matters:
Narcissistic abuse is often invisible to the courts—but devastating to survivors. The current legal system doesn’t adequately address emotional manipulation, gaslighting, coercive control, or psychological abuse. Together, we can raise our voices and push for the change survivors so desperately need.

Global Non-Profit Organisation
Unremunerated – Travel, representation, and other out-of-pocket expenses directly incurred as part of official business are reimbursed in line with the organisation’s trustee expenses policy.

Prospectus are delighted to be working in partnership with a global non-profit organisation uniquely focused on building and sustaining a worldwide movement to end child, early and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU). This is a significantly under-addressed issue affecting over 12 million girls each year. The organisation is a network of more than 1,400 civil society groups operating across more than 100 countries, united in their efforts to end child marriage.

The organisation’s vision is a world without child marriage — a world in which girls and women enjoy equal status with boys and men and are able to reach their full potential across all areas of life.

This opportunity offers prospective trustees the chance to join the Board of a respected, global movement that is making tangible progress toward ending child marriage. It is a chance to play a vital role in addressing a critical global challenge.

The organisation is seeking to appoint a new cohort of exceptional trustees whose expertise and lived experience will contribute meaningfully to its continued growth and impact. Ideal candidates will be strongly aligned with the organisation’s mission and ready to commit their time, insight, and influence to furthering its goals.

Expressions of interest are particularly encouraged from individuals with expertise in the following areas:

Impact Investment
This trustee will bring substantial knowledge in areas such as impact investment, social finance, or public-private partnerships, with a focus on enabling systemic social change. Experience in mobilising sustainable and innovative funding approaches — such as blended finance, catalytic philanthropy, or outcome-based funding — will be particularly valuable. Candidates will likely have worked across sectors to evidence impact and unlock capital, and will be committed to advancing equity, opportunity, and justice through financial innovation.

Digital, Media, and Innovation
This trustee will have a strong background in digital innovation, media, or AI, with a focus on influencing social norms and behaviours. They will understand how to utilise social platforms, emerging technologies, and digital tools to amplify youth voices, build momentum at grassroots level, and shape public narratives. Experience with digital campaigning, online mobilisation, or movement-building—especially in the fields of gender justice, youth-led activism, or social change—will be an asset. A solid grasp of how technology can support community empowerment and systemic change is key.

The organisation is actively working to increase the diversity of its Board, both in terms of professional backgrounds and lived experience. In particular, they are keen to hear from candidates who have lived or worked in contexts where child marriage is highly prevalent.
