Role Overview

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003. Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after fatal domestic abuse. 

AAFDA is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for an Administration Assistant to join our busy team.

You’ll be part of a friendly but efficient, remote-working team and so will require a high level of self-motivation and initiative, excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour.

Our whole team contribute to the general running of the organisation, and you will need the ability and flexibility, to juggle a variety of tasks under the pressures of a small, busy, and rapidly growing Charity.

Reporting to our Finance and Resources Manage, Manager, the postholder will provide a range of administration support across the different strands of our work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 7) – Fixed Term Contract November 2026 to join our Rehabilitation services team. This role is to provide high quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and young people with neurodisabilities, neurodevelopmental and orthopaedic conditions and respiratory needs. All interventions will be goal focused, evidence-based, and child and family centred.

Role Requirements

• Assess, plan, execute and evaluate physiotherapy interventions for referred children, within a multidisciplinary team setting and using facilities available, both on and off site.
• Carry out highly specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions, including support for the on-site Botox clinic; Casing; and Orthotics provision.
• Produce functional goals in collaboration with the child / young person, family and MDT.
• Devise suitable, individualised, 24hr physiotherapy/postural management programmes for each child, whether to be carried out by parents or members of the Multidisciplinary Team; these should be monitored, evaluated and adjusted appropriately according to the needs of the child. Work collaboratively with families to maximise engagement in therapy sessions; support the management of and promote confidence, in meeting their child’s needs.
• Assess for and organise provision of necessary therapy equipment and/or orthotics. This may be loaned equipment for use at The Children’s Trust or recommendations for equipment for long-term use on return home.
• Teach, integrate and monitor physiotherapy interventions/ advice in the child’s environment, whether it is carried out by parents, therapy staff, nursing or care staff.
• Work closely with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/school visits, professional child related meetings and/ or appointments, as required.
• Implement and monitor chest management and physiotherapy programmes.
• Liaise with external services and follow respiratory guidelines set by tertiary centers. Support the implementation of child specific respiratory physiotherapy management plans and monitor how well they are working. Escalate issues around respiratory concerns to specialist providers outside of the organisation that support respiratory management.
• Support the implementation of specific respiratory physiotherapy management plans, including: basic manual techniques, appropriate use of oxygen in ventilator support, demonstrating an awareness of inadequate ventilation and when to escalate care accordingly, ensuring awareness of how other components of the child’s care, impacts on their respiratory function.
• Use awareness of how other components of the child’s care may impact on their respiratory function.
• Use awareness of how a 24hr postural management programme impacts on the respiratory system, sleep pattern and the compliance to rehabilitation, in order to inform physiotherapy interventions and the multidisciplinary care and therapy plans.
• Support the delivery of 24hr rehabilitation, through the provision of advice/ information, education and modeling, to the Multidisciplinary Team, tailoring the provision of information to the needs of the child, their family and the staff concerned.
• Liaise with all appropriate medical staff, whether employed by The Children’s Trust, visiting consultants or at off-site clinics and attend clinics with the child, as and when required.
• Contribute to the assessment and discussion of new referrals to The Children’s Trust, carrying out off-site referral assessments around the United Kingdom, as required.
• Work collaboratively with professional colleagues in other services, to facilitate the admission and discharge process.

The Role: Family Co-ordinator (Domestic Abuse Lead)

This vital role leads the delivery of Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse work, with a particular focus on empowering survivors to recover and build brilliant new lives for themselves and their children. You will be responsible for managing and delivering the Freedom Programme, recruiting attendees, and continuously developing the program to meet the evolving needs of survivors. You will also oversee volunteer-delivered support to families in their homes to ensure it is targeted and effective in helping families achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Leading Domestic Abuse Support: Spearhead Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse initiatives, including the development and delivery of the Freedom Programme, ensuring it effectively supports survivors.

· Empowering Survivors: Facilitate recovery and growth for survivors of domestic abuse, helping them build a new life for them and their children.

· Family Assessment and Support: Assess the needs of referred families and oversee volunteer-delivered support to achieve family goals.

· Volunteer Management: Contribute to the recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing support and supervision of our brilliant volunteers.

· Safeguarding: Undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare and that of programme attendees.

· Partnership Working: Build effective relationships with referrers and other partners to promote Home-Start's services across the borough.

What we are looking for (Essential):

• A good standard of education (A level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
• Direct experience working with children/families from diverse backgrounds.
• Direct experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
• A strong understanding of the needs of domestic abuse survivors and families with children under five
• Knowledge of current legislation and policies relating to children and families.
• Commitment to good safeguarding practice and professional confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including experience providing support over the telephone and through video conferencing.
• Ability to work flexibly, including regular evening work

Desirable, but not essential:

• Qualification in group-based support delivery.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., health visitor, teacher, social worker, childcare).
• An Independent Domestic Violence Advocate qualification or other qualifications in tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG) and/or trauma-based approaches.

This is a new and exciting role sitting centrally in our HR and Operations team and you will have a flair for data analysis, an aptitude for accurate reporting and thrive in maintaining system efficiency and data integrity. The role will be pivotal in supporting our friendly fundraising team in the effective use of Donorfy. 

The Centre has to raise circa £2.5m every year to support our work with young people, children and families facing homelessness.  Our CRM and its effective use is critical to building our knowledge and insight to grow this income.  It’s a critical role that will have real impact.

Bringing your hands-on CRM experience and strong communications skills, you will have a curious mindset, proactively seeking to continually improve yourself and the role, championing a culture of data excellence, as well as taking ownership and accountability of your workload.

This role is crucial in supporting the strategic direction and operational plans for individual giving programmes, including appeals, regular giving, and legacies, with the aim of maximising net income from both new and existing streams. The Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager will play a key part in reigniting the legacy programme and growing overall Individual Giving income to ensure long-term support for their service users. 

Key responsibilities:

• Work with the Head of department to plan and oversee retention and acquisition campaigns, ensuring they meet income and expenditure targets.

• Create KPIs and income targets, measuring and reporting on progress against the Individual Giving and Legacy strategy, making data-driven decisions.

• Further the Digital Strategy, optimising digital response as a primary opportunity.

• Develop and implement a multi-year legacy strategy to build a strong legacy pipeline, consistently meeting or exceeding annual income targets.

• Develop and manage new Retention and Acquisition initiatives.

• Manage existing activities, review, evaluate, and report on them in a timely manner to optimise and expand income goals.

Barnardo's are recruiting a Single Point of Access (SPA) Administrator for our exciting innovation research programme Generation PMTO (Parenting Management Training Oregon) service delivered in the UK for the first time.

Barnardo's approved for this 3 Year trial introduction of an innovative parenting programme (Generation PMTO- Parent Management Training Oregon) into the UK. Well tested around the World although this is the first time it is being trialled in the UK. The programme is for parents of children aged 8-14 who may be susceptible to serious youth violence if the parents are not given support. The programme is built on a strength based, solution focused, positive parenting model giving parents the tools to be the change makers in the family.

This is a three-year trial that will require flexibility and energy from the entire team, the project is evolving, and the team are currently in the pilot stage. The partnership is complex, involving three boroughs, the Ending Youth Violence Lab, Barnardo's, and GEN PMTO. A significant amount of time will be dedicated to liaising with various partners and borough stake holders, coordinating meetings, and establishing agreed ways of working.

Working in close partnership with the parents, the GEN PMTO trainers, the funders (Youth Endowment Fund), the evaluators (Ending Youth Violence Lab) and three boroughs chosen to trial the programme (BRENT, Tower Hamlets and Barking and Dagenham), we will focus on building stronger families and improving children and young people's life chances.

The post holder will be an integral part of the team to ensure smooth operational and business underpin. The role will require a good level of the following skills and abilities, do you have?

• Proven office experience with competence at organising meetings and taking minutes as required.
• Ability to provide comprehensive reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience of budget monitoring and financial reporting
• Proficient IT skills in Microsoft applications

About the role:

We are looking for a compassionate and committed Youth Support and Project Officer to join our SANEline Services team with a dedicated focus on supporting young people affected by mental health.
 

In this role you will;

- Deliver emotional support and to both adults and young people

- Shape and lead on a youth helpline and/or written service

- Liaise with external agencies and services

- Help build and shape youth focused services at SANE

You will bring;

About the role

You’ll provide expert technical support and guidance on a variety of software and hardware used at Parkinson’s UK, working as a key member of the Technology Services Team.

You’ll help maintain a consistently high level of service, ensuring staff and volunteers receive timely, effective support to carry out their work efficiently.

• Provide support for IT related incidents and problems, and be the escalation point for 2nd/3rd line 

• Build, configure, test, assign and issue laptops to staff 

• Manage our server estate

• Provide BAU support for Google Workspace applications 

• Support and develop the more junior members of the Technology Services team

• Demonstrable experience in a 2nd/3rd  line support role 

• Excellent customer service skills and demonstrable experience of dealing with support queries

• Experience in creating Windows images using appropriate tools

With your warm, friendly, professional manner, you will provide exemplary office management, from accepting regular deliveries and post for our hostel residents and services, to ensuring we have all the right supplies in the right place.  You’ll be a strong help to the Facilities Manager, providing top-notch administrative support to maintain our requirements under health and safety, and hands-on help when needed around the building.

Bringing your experience of office management and willingness and enthusiasm to support with maintenance tasks, you will proactively seek to continually improve yourself and the role, championing a culture of service excellence, as well as taking ownership and accountability of your workload.
