 The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £426 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.

Key responsibilities:

Communication and Collaboration

· Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.

· Maintain strong understanding of response context.

· Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.

 

Analysis and Reporting

· Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.

· Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals.

· Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners. 

· Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics.

Management and Leadership

· Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box].

· Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response.

· Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will support policy and public affairs activities, ensuring AdviceUK's has a strong voice and messages are heard at a national and regional level across England, Scotland, and Wales, so AdviceUK can secure policy, funding and system change to benefit people seeking advice and the communities served by our members. The postholder will collaborate with colleagues to ensure their advocacy and campaigns are robust, challenging and independent and to raise AdviceUK's profile and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Policy Support & Monitoring: Collaborate with stakeholders to inform policy efforts, develop policy materials, monitor political and regulatory developments, and keep stakeholders updated on activities.
• Stakeholder Management & Public Affairs: Maintain stakeholder engagement, manage parliamentary contacts, align stakeholder mapping with policy objectives, and engage members in advocacy work.
• Media Relations: Create compelling stories for media, manage media communications, build relationships with journalists, and develop a press office function.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Provide data analysis to support decision-making, maintain data accuracy, and ensure alignment with KPIs through quality reporting.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will have at least two years' experience working in policy and public affairs. The successful candidate will have experience and/or an understanding of the social welfare advice sector and the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. You will have excellent knowledge of local and national government structures, the UK and devolved parliaments within a policy context, with experience of political and media mapping, working within the Parliamentary/Whitehall landscape and experience of 1:1 briefing of MPs, civil servants and the media. You will have worked in partnership on campaigns, and you will be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners and suppliers. You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and excellent analytical and decision-making skills to translate data and evidence into actionable insights to inform decision-making. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload and competing demands. You will also be skilled in using video content to communicate policy objectives and public affairs work.

This role is home-based. You will need to regular attend meetings/events in London and there will be some travel across the UK. AdviceUK have an office in London (Aldgate). There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted. There will be a £600 home working allowance.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism are separate organisations, which are currently working towards coming together as one charity. The successful candidate will initially be employed by the Movement for Reform Judaism, working closely with Liberal Judaism as a partner organisation. 

A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), who is a strong multi-tasker, you will have a proven track record of leading a team and working in partnership with colleagues.  This senior role will be responsible for finance and risk for MRJ and LJ, as well as providing accounts, budgets, overseeing audits for 3 other related charities, with an overall combined turnover of £10m.

The Jewish Museum London has undergone substantial positive change over the past year, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model.  This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.

Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
• Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
• Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
• Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement the direct marketing retention strategy, ensuring that past learnings are built upon, and new ideas are tested.
• Develop and implement specific audience journeys for segments across both the life cycle of a DEC appeal and between appeals.
• Ensure timely and relevant communications to all direct marketing, community, and legacy audiences on the impact of their donations.
• Build an improved supporter journey strategy for new, repeat, and lapsed donors.
• Lead, design, and monitor the collection of audience insight during appeals.

Fundraising

• Develop the DEC’s donor journeys for individuals and community supporters, monitoring the development of segments and the engagement of repeat donors.
• Provide analysis during and following an appeal of performance to measure and report performance against key indicators and develop recommendations for improving impact in the next appeal.
• Support the stewardship of community fundraisers and groups in conjunction with the Supporter Services team.

Networking and building relationships

• Develop excellent working relationships with the DEC’s suppliers including creative agencies, media agencies, SMS and email suppliers, and the print/mailing house.
• Work with permanent and temporary staff at the DEC during appeals to maximise the success of the appeal.

The Paul Mellon Centre (PMC) is looking for a qualified and highly experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager who can help us create an inclusive and inspirational workplace. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing and enhancing the career and workplace experience of the people who work for our organisation through their leadership of the HR Team and provision at the PMC. Reporting to the Centre’s Chief Operating Officer, the HR Manager plays a crucial role in our organisation of around forty members of staff. London National Park City is looking for a highly collaborative Community Director to join our growing team. You will help us develop and enhance the way all Londoners can participate every day in making our city greener, healthier and wilder.

London National Park City is the long term grassroots movement for everyone making London greener, healthier and wilder. London became the world's first National Park City in 2019 with aim of making our city a place where people and nature are better connected.

This new senior role will be responsible for developing a deeply participatory approach to what it means to be part of the London National Park City community and movement. You will draw upon the wealth of experiments, storytelling, and community programming which has already taken place, and shape the next stage of how we build our movement, and support grassroots communities in every neighbourhood of London.

The core of this role will be the stewardship of our Ranger programme, supporting our community of volunteer Rangers, along with recruiting and managing local Ranger Coordinators in a number of London Boroughs as funding is secured. Key to this will be developing relationships with partner civil society organisations, and working closely with our Partnerships Manager.

You’ll be experienced in building and supporting ‘on’ and ‘offline’ communities, and keen to learn and adopt new and engaging approaches to membership, while sharing what you learn with the wider team and community.

You’ll be disciplined, organised and an excellent verbal and written communicator. You’ll be creative, and willing to chip in, helping out across the organisation, and keeping all our stakeholders and partners informed.

You do not need to have a university degree to apply for this role, and we’ll provide you with additional training and mentoring as you develop your skills.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing our overall approach to community building and participatory membership for individuals, and those from community and civil society groups, and business or corporate members. Your primary responsibility will be evolving and supporting the development of our volunteer Ranger community, enabling each Ranger to be more impactful within their own communities.

Community Membership

• Develop programmes and communications which allow every Londoner to contribute towards delivering the goals and commitments set out in the Charter for London National Park City.

• Gather and share activities and contributions from our community, with regular updates on member activities, and collaborations.

• Contribute membership content to our online Mighty Networks community, websites, email and social media campaigns.

Ranger Community

• Understand and represent the broad needs of our Ranger community and what they need to actively lead greater participation with London National Park City.
• Maintain contacts and working relationships with London National Park City Rangers supporting them to inspire Londoners to make the city greener, healthier and wilder and helping more people to enjoy being outdoors.
• Report on Ranger activities, connections and communities, and where appropriate, work with Rangers to support London National Park City with campaigns and activities.
• Lead on the recruitment and appointment of new Rangers, including evolving and improving our induction and ongoing training offer.
• Share Ranger stories and support the development of media assets to promote the Rangers and their work.
• Manage the Ranger programme budget and allocation of spending.
• As funding allows, and with the support of the Executive Director, recruit and manage local Ranger coordinators.

You will be joining and fully participating in a unique and inspirational community of changemakers and storytellers, active across London and increasingly around the world.

This is a permanent role and the salary range is £45,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience. We are open to applications for part-time or other flexible working arrangements.

You will have 25 holiday days allowance per year (pro rata for part-time staff).

Following successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, we will enrol you in our Nest pension scheme, and will make additional payments of 4% as long as you contribute 4% of your salary each month.

This role will predominantly be carried out in person at our Visitors Centre in London and remotely from home, with regular meetings and site visits across London, so you must be based in the UK and be prepared for regular travel.

Overview of the role:

Working in a small team, you will play an active role in the delivery of their External Affairs programme of work, primarily delivering secretariat duties for the APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) on Deep Geothermal, as well as contributing to wider external affairs outputs.

Your core responsibilities will be to develop and deliver APPG Secretariat duties. You will ensure members and political stakeholders are kept informed, and that administrative requirements are met. You will be responsible for organising APPG meetings in Parliament and driving forward the APPG’s programme of work, liaising with multiple stakeholders across the public sector, industry, and academia. You will also monitor the public affairs landscape and deliver ongoing External Affairs programmes.

There will be opportunities to organise and attend Parliamentary and member events and to support meetings with parliamentarians and officers. Your work will include drafting briefings, minutes, press releases, and wider correspondence for members of the team, working across media relations, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications. You’ll undertake parliamentary monitoring to find and highlight debates and questions of relevance to members. You will also work closely with colleagues across other departments to ensure all external affairs messaging is aligned across the organisation.

Their head office is in Holborn, London – you will be expected to work in the office at least three days a week. Occasionally, you will travel to member offices, or other UK venues, to support events hosted there.
