Purpose of the job

UK Youth are seeking an exceptional Grants Manager to lead our grant-making processes, ensuring effective distribution of funds to youth-focused organisations. You will play a key role in managing relationships with grantees, supporting capacity-building initiatives, and ensuring funding is used effectively to drive positive outcomes for young people.

Reporting to the Head of Network Development, as part of a wider team leading our network development initiatives, you’ll be responsible for be line managing a Grants Officer and providing much needed and valued support for a sector that delivers life changing impact for young people in a difficult, underinvested landscape. You’ll have opportunity to lead a function that’s committed to working with young people and using equitable, innovative principles and approaches to funding (such as unrestricted, multi-year funds). You’ll also work collaboratively across the organisation and externally to amplify impact for young people across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full grant-making cycle, from application and assessment to award, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Develop and implement grant-making approaches that align with the charity’s objectives, and funding principles, strategies and priorities  e.g. building on our youth participation practices.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with grantees, funders, and sector stakeholders, working collaboratively and cross functionally with internal colleagues with work related to grants.

• Work closely with youth organisations to understand their needs and provide tailored funding and capacity-building support.

• Work with Impact colleagues to monitor and evaluate grants, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and identifying opportunities for impact and learning.

• Ensure a transparent and equitable grant-making process, embedding best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

• Work with Impact and External Relations colleagues to support and prepare reports and impact assessments for internal and external stakeholders, including trustees and funders.

• Support the maintenance and development of partnerships and new funding opportunities  to enhance the charity’s grant-making capacity, including the IVAR community .

• Stay informed about trends in youth work and  funding, sharing insights to shape the charity’s approach.

• Ensure the CRM and grant management systems support data-driven decision-making and reporting, providing training and support to colleagues as needed.

• Support the development, and continuous improvement of the charity’s CRM and grant management systems to ensure efficient and effective grant processing.

Experience we're after

• Previous line management experience and a proven track record of successfully leading a grants function in a previous role.

• Experience in grant-making, funding management, or a related role within the charity sector.

• Strong understanding of youth sector challenges and the role of funding in strengthening organisations.

• Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple grants simultaneously.

• Analytical skills to assess funding applications and evaluate impact.

• Strong relationship management and communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience working with charities and funders.

Purpose of the job

 We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to lead and deliver strategic communications across all key external audiences.  Strategic Communications & Messaging:

• Develop and execute UK Youth’s external communications strategy to increase awareness, engagement, and advocacy.

• Ensure consistency of messaging across all communication channels and materials. 

 Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

About the role:

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Crohn’s & Colitis UK’s research strategy including our programme of grants, and our work to support increased patient and public involvement in research.  They will work with the Director of Services & Evidence and Head of Evidence & Research to support the charity’s involvement with external research bodies and contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet our strategic objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering successful research funding and patient and public involvement research activities.  The successful candidate must be adept at establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and comfortable working with operational performance metrics, and implementing strategies and objectives for the organisation.  Ideally your background will be in health care or working in a medical charity and you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent.  Given this role will involve managing and providing leadership to the Research team, prior management experience would be an advantage. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would be beneficial also.

Fundraising lead (fixed term 12-month contract, 0.4 FTE i.e. 14 hours a week)

JustMoney Movement is seeking a part-time Fundraising lead to help us grow a more sustainable funding base. The role will work with senior staff to develop our strategic case for support to target small organisational/ institutional donors (£1-5k grants/ donations).

We are a Christian charity using education and advocacy to work towards our vision of a fairer, greener future, through the transformation of our financial system and wider economy. We want to grow and diversify our funding base, reducing our dependence on a small number of grants, and building a movement of allies who feel part of the community and are willing to financially support it.

The Fundraising lead will work with senior staff to develop a case for support for our overall strategy and use this to target small organisational/ institutional donors including small trusts; corporates and organisations; and churches. 

Role description

· Grade 3.1 expected FTE salary £35,700 pro-rated to 0.4 FTE/ 14 hours a week = £14,280 (subject to annual inflationary pay review).

· Fixed term 12-month contract. This post has funding for 1 year.  If successful, there could be scope to extend the role for longer.

About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)

The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets.  This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support.  The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night. 

About the Role

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.

Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.

You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

Overall purpose of role

As the WeProtect Global Alliance Head of Strategy, you will lead a small team to build a global network, evidence base and policy portfolio to guide and drive the implementation of our Strategy and mission targets. Your team will provide high level analysis and ask critical questions, supporting the Alliance to identify immediate and emerging issues which may require investigation or exploration, support the Policy Board, Executive Team, Head of Members and Head of Development to navigate key strategic decisions.

We have more than 12,000 individual members in the UK and across the world. As a charity, we advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society, and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision making are informed by evidence for the public good. 

The membership of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) constitutes a preeminent source of statistical expertise. Members work with RSS staff to support our work across areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy. Communicating what we do is important to ensure that our work has impact, and that our members are informed. 

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.

Key responsibilities:

Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment  

• Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs. 
• Monitor and respond to emerging trends to ensure our communications channels and content for policy and external affairs remain timely and relevant.
• Build a network of key contacts across critical and adjacent organisations to maximise potential routes into influencing decision-making and make the best use of resources through collaborative working. 

Development of strategies and plans

• Lead on strategic communication of the Society’s campaign priorities
• Contribute to the development of the Society’s communications strategy across media, social media and communications planning.
• Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise the communications value of the Society’s key policy and external affairs outputs and activities.
• Contribute to costed plans for communications campaigns that meet key strategic goals and include monitoring for impact.

Media relations

• Lead on the Society’s media relations work – proactively identify and exploit appropriate media opportunities to promote campaign priorities, drafting media statements and managing launches and announcements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists across our key topic areas and respond to press queries. 
• Expertly advise, assist and brief the Society’s key spokespeople in respect of media relations issues and opportunities.

External affairs

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available. 

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered. The post-holder will be the point of contact for any out-of-office hours press queries. 

Holidays

25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year. 

Probation

This post is subject to a six-month probation period.
