The Royal Society of Biology (RSB) is a single unified voice for biology: advising Government and influencing policy; advancing education and professional development; supporting our members, and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences.

The Training and Registers Officer is responsible for supporting the RSB’s overarching training agenda through administration, evaluation and development. The successful candidate will help to ensure that the objectives in the RSB business plan are met, with an emphasis on developing a comprehensive training offering to meet the needs of our members and the wider scientific community. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide administrative support to the Professional Registers and the Accreditation programme to ensure growth and high quality standards in both these important areas.

The Training and Registers Officer will join a small dedicated team, overseen by the Director responsible for Accreditation, Training and Professional Registers. This role could require UK travel, some international travel, and nights away from home.

About the role

AMRC exists to support our members to be as effective as possible as they find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. The Research Funding Officer will focus on developing guidance, advice and training to support our members to fund research well across the research pipeline. You will help to showcase good practice across the sector and analyse new developments in funding policy and practice, helping to keep our members up-to-date and on the front foot. You will have a key role in ensuring we maintain high standards and AMRC’s kitemark of quality, which gives credibility to donors and partners.

Context and purpose of the role

You will join a small, high-performing team responsible for generating £5 million per year from individual giving, legacies, grants and corporate partners, all to deliver the Ramblers ambition for a future where everyone can enjoy the benefits of walking in nature.

Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the fundraising strategy, leading on the delivery of our individual giving and legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels. You will create high-quality, compelling campaign materials and ensure an excellent donor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Income generation

• Play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the individual giving and legacy marketing strategy
• Support the growth of individual giving income in line with annual targets
• Develop and deliver regular cash and legacy marketing appeals to a high level, including:
  • Developing propositions and cases for support
  • Create compelling direct marketing materials, including writing persuasive copy and developing strong creative content
  • Project management to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Managing relationships with agencies and suppliers including design and print
• Manage a portfolio of affiliate fundraising campaigns

Donor stewardship

• Ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and reporting
• Effectively manage communications with supporters, including ensuring that donations are thanked appropriately, managing fundraising inboxes, and responding to queries
• Working with the Production & Innovation Manager, identify a pipeline of potential mid- and high-value donors for stewardship and conversion

Data and reporting

• Produce campaign and programme level reporting and analysis
• Work closely with the data team to ensure selections are accurate, timely and relevant to our various audiences, and use income data to make recommendations for future campaigns
• Maintain accurate, up to date and compliant records of individual giving campaigns and appeals
• Provide regular financial reports and reforecasts to the Product & Innovation Manager and Head of Fundraising

Relationships

• Build strong working relationships with staff within various functions of the Ramblers
• Work with other members of the Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care teams to ensure that all supporter communications are part of an integrated supporter journey

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience working within a target-driven fundraising or direct marketing team, ideally within an individual giving context
• Experience of managing fundraising or marketing projects across a range of channels, such as direct mail, social media and email
• Experience of data-driven marketing campaigns, including segmentation and campaign analysis to meet objectives
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications to a wide range of audiences
• Excellent creative skills, including the ability to write compelling, accurate and persuasive copy across a range of channels
• Competent in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience of working with CRM systems

Desirable:

• Experience of working with the Salesforce CRM
• Experience of legacy marketing, or an understanding of charity legacy giving

About the role

Northern Ireland has an amazingly rich heritage of church and chapel buildings that we want to see well maintained, valued and in use. We’re looking for a Support Officer – based in Northern Ireland – who can help us to complete the delivery of our pioneering The National Lottery Heritage Fund project. This role will support churches of all denominations with maintenance and tourism advice, training and events and be a key contact for churches looking for heritage support in Northern Ireland.

This is a fixed-term role until the end of April 2026, with the possibility of an extension. The role is full-time (35 hours per week); part-time will be considered for the right candidate. You will be home-based in Northern Ireland, with occasional travel to London.

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

Purpose of the job

 You will be an important member of the Senior Management Team, supporting the CEO to drive income growth. 5. Work with the CEO and Finance Manager to manage the allocation of costs across the budget and to ensure delivery in line with funding requirements.

7. Produce funding applications with informative narrative content and robust data

8.   Maintain a monitoring schedule and produce reports in line with funder/stakeholder requirements also with informative narrative content and robust data

9.   Maintain regular communication with funders and potential funders to build strong working relationships and increase funding opportunities

10. Support the CEO in developing strategic and operational plans for the organisation

11. Monitor and collate other outcomes and achievements of the organisation.

About the role:

The British Museum is embarking on one of the most significant cultural redevelopment projects undertaken anywhere in the world. The Philanthropy Team, as a key function of Development, will play a vital role in enabling the Museum's vision for the future. The Philanthropy Officer: Grants role will be responsible for managing relationships with and securing income from primarily trusts and foundations in support of the Museum's agreed priorities.

• To raise funds for Museum priorities in line with agreed annual income targets, managing your own prospect pipeline, with mentoring and support from the Philanthropy Manager.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a trust fundraising role
• Knowledge of trust and statutory fundraising requirements and practice
• IT literate with good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages and experience using fundraising databases
• Strong writing skills with the ability to create and articulate a convincing fundraising case.
• A team player with strong organisational skills
• Experience in an arts, culture or heritage organization is desirable

We now have a full time, permanent vacancy for an aspiring grants management professional to help us to deliver our strategic plan. We are seeking an individual who, as Chief Executive / Clerk to the Company, will guide and support us through an ongoing period of growth and renewal.

Experience of Livery companies, the City of London and/or the horticulture sector may be helpful but is not required.

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland is looking to hire a new member of staff to help co-ordinate and deliver the Finding Futures for Scotland’s Churches project.

Working closely with Scotland’s Churches Trust, this role will assist the Research Officer to work with communities to collate existing country-wide information on both the heritage and community value of Scotland’s churches. The role will help identify knowledge and data gaps, carry out heritage surveys and engage community-representative groups to undertake a community value assessment applying the University of Stirling’s Social Value Toolkit. It will also involve supporting the set up and administration of a network of key stakeholders.
