Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have lived experience of mental health issues in Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex.

We are seeking to recruit additional Employment Advisors to join our well established and supportive team, providing advice and information, skills-based interventions, and employment support to people experiencing mental health issues. As an Employment Advisor your role will involve working alongside people to help them achieve their employment goals whether that is to remain in, return to or find work.

The role is varied and involves managing a busy caseload as well as undertaking liaison work with employers and other external partners, so experience and a commitment to partnership working is required. The service also offers workplace wellbeing and recruitment focused workshops offering a chance for people to meet together creatively and share experiences. The successful candidate will understand mental health, employment issues and the barriers people may face in the workplace. The Employment Advice Service provides employment support for people accessing NHS Talking Therapies via the Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service. The Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service is a primary care mental health service for people of all ages in the city.

About the role

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:

• To provide support and advocacy services to clients experiencing domestic abuse
• To ensure direct contact is made with the client within a specified time of an incident being reported to the police and to carry out a risk assessment.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
• To support the team with case management and volume of referrals to ensure a short waiting time and referrals are contacted promptly and assessed appropriately.
• To collate and obtain feedback regarding the effectiveness of the service.

Mind in Camden has the exciting permanent opportunity to recruit people to work on our leading Hearing Voices Projects.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. To be successful in this role, you need to have an in-depth understanding of the Hearing Voices Movement and the role of peer support groups within this. You will ideally have experience of supervising or mentoring volunteers and some project management experience.

With the confidence and organisational skills necessary to take the lead on busy and diverse projects, you will be required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders (from the adult mental health, prison, forensic and youth sectors). As such, this role is best suited to someone who is flexible enough to modify their approach to suit the situation.

We are looking for someone with strong facilitation skills who is able to deliver and design training that communicates the values of the Hearing Voices Network clearly and accessibly.

Among other tasks, you will be required to:

• Oversee the current Hearing Voices Projects to ensure they are consistent and embody the Mind in Camden and Hearing Voices Movement ethos.
• Be part of some of the frontline work, including facilitating groups.
• Build networks and deliver training sessions for the Hearing Voices Projects.

South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

Operations Manager - Support Services (Mental Health)

This role will be responsible for the Operational Management of three contracts: 

Birmingham Mind’s Vulnerable Adults Services are funded by Birmingham City Council and provide mental health support to the citizens of Birmingham by helping them in their own homes and providing supported accommodation for those in serious need. 

Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team (ICRT) is co-located with clinical staff from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust (BSMHT). The service works closely with commissioners, other NHS professionals, and service users to offer an alternative to inpatient rehabilitation, especially to Community Recovery Units, to facilitate the early discharge of existing rehabilitation inpatients locally. 

Our Operations Managers work at a strategic and managerial level, supporting the service managers, working closely with Birmingham Mind’s Senior Leadership Team, and maintaining productive relationships with commissioners and related roles. 

A successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and significant experience of beneficiary involvement. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety and challenge in their work, with no two days the same. Purpose of the Job 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead working within our Mental Health Support Teams and wider Children and Young People’s Services. As an integral part of our services, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of mental health interventions for children and young people. You will provide  clinical supervision and support to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and national guidelines. This role involves overseeing the delivery of low-intensity and early intervention mental health support within schools and the community for children and young people between the ages of 5-18 (for young people with SEND under 25). In addition, you will ensure professional development and clinical governance.

Job Summary

The role includes:

• Providing case management and clinical supervision (1:1 and group) and some line management
• Supporting the team to write sensitive and appropriate reports concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people
• Carrying out clinical case file audits to ensure high quality practice and to support practitioners and trainees
• Ensuring that practitioners and trainees work within their scope of practice and adhere to professional standards
• Ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice in accordance with national guidance and national and local policies (including NHS and educational frameworks)

Person Specification

Essential

• Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs
• Experience of providing clinical supervision to practitioners working with children
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT, trauma-informed approaches)
• Experience of managing risk and safeguarding concerns
• Excellent communication skills and non-judgmental approach to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Recovery Support Workers (Mental Health) x 8 - Recovery House

The Recovery House is a brand new, exciting and innovative service for Birmingham Mind and is an opportunity to create a flagship standard of support and care for those in mental health crisis. The Recovery House is commissioned by the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust and is part of their Urgent Care pathway. Working closely with the Recovery House Team, the role is pivotal to the effective and safe delivery of the service. 

About the role 

The role of Recovery Support Worker will work as part of a team in our regulated services and is an important role for the delivery of recovery-based and prevention services within Birmingham Mind. The role will be central to the smooth running of the 24/7 service provided by Recovery House. 

You will support the Waking Night team of Recovery Support Workers in providing a continuous and safe delivery of support, always ensuring high quality and person-centred care. Ensuring that compliance and adherence to CQC standards is upheld and provide appropriate information to managers. You will work in a person-centred way alongside colleagues an NHS clinical partners to de-escalate mental health crisis and help service users to return home and be pivotal in the provision of a welcoming, calm and safe environment. 

The Recovery Support Worker will support the team in mobilising the service and work in a way that conforms with the expectations of the CQC, NHS and Birmingham Mind standards. You will take an active part in all appropriate meetings and create and implement service user assessments and support practices. 

About you 

You will need to be skilful in quickly developing strong relationships with users of the service and able to support the de-escalation of crisis and the provision of a calm and supportive environment; delivering person centred interventions. 

We are looking for someone who experience in delivering services in a CQC regulated residential or supported living environment, who has experience of working in partnership with key stakeholders and partner organisations. You will be knowledgeable in and committed to the “Recovery Model "of mental health support and be experienced in delivering person centred care. You will be able to provide a caring and compassionate care to service users, with the ability to provide and maintain a high-quality environment at short notice. 

This role will involve working on a rota, including some evenings and weekends.

Working one to one (either face to face, over the telephone, or on video call) you will support individuals experiencing mental health distress by:

• Establishing connection and rapport in a non-intrusive, non-judgmental and compassionate manner
• Supporting individuals through guided self-help strategies including grounding, breathing techniques.
• Supporting individuals to relay their immediate needs and concerns and offering emotional and practical support and information to address these.
• Provide individuals with information on and how to connect with social support networks available to them in their own community.

Service Manager (Mental Health) - The Recovery House Service

Location: Alum Rock, Birmingham 

Salary: £35,802 per annum 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 

The Recovery House is a brand new, exciting and innovative service for Birmingham Mind and is an opportunity to create a flagship standard of support and care for those in mental health crisis. The Service Manager is pivotal to the creation of this new service, helping to shape our offer and deliver the best service possible. 

As the Service Manager you will use your skills and knowledge to lead a team of 16 to deliver the service for adults in Birmingham and Solihull. The Service Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the delivery and culture of a new service, and start people’s recovery from crisis, ensuring the best outcomes. 

The Recovery House will provide those in crisis with a safe, secure and welcoming environment to support the de-escalation of crisis. The House will be open to new service users at all times and will provide a homely environment, allowing people to retain independence, whilst receiving person centred and appropriate support. 

The service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing vital support to people in need of short-term crisis accommodation, of up to 7 nights. 

The service is a partnership with the NHS, who will have a staff presence at all times, and will build on the range of strong collaborations we have with the public sector.

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.

Working in collaboration with Manchester City Council, this role will be part of the Staying Close team, developing a service for young people age 16-25 who are stepping across from residential homes and/or released from custody; developing their pathway to independence.
