What is Shared Lives?
Shared Lives is a little bit like fostering, but it’s for adults who need some support to live as independently as possible. Someone who needs support goes to live with one of our ace Shared Lives carers and they support them to live their best lives, do all the things they love and be part of their communities. PSS invented Shared Lives back in 1978 and it’s now become a national model of care that lots of other social care providers run. We’re really proud of that. It’s the most brilliant, safe and cost-effective form of care there is (and we’re not just biased – in October 2023, CQC rated 97% of Shared Lives schemes in England as good or outstanding, in comparison to just 78% for the wider social care sector!).
We have Shared Lives schemes in seven different places across England and North Wales – and we’ve got big plans to add to that.
What do we need out deputy head of Shared Lives to do?
Alongside the head of Shared Lives, your job will be to make sure each one of the services in Shared Lives is absolutely top-notch in every way:
- They provide excellent support to the people who use our Shared Lives service
- They support people to reach their goals
- Any issues that crop up are dealt with effectively and in line with our policies and procedures
- They run effectively and like clockwork (but are flexible enough to change things up when it’s needed – even if it’s how things have always been done);
- They’re performing well financially, they’re sustainable and they’re cost-effective
- Carers, PSS Shared Lives teammates and people we support all feel really well informed, motivated and part of a big family
- Our service is getting better all the time
You’ll be supported by a cracking team of service managers who will lead each of the seven individual regional services within Shared Lives. They’ll be looking to you to help them review and develop their services, looking at best practice and national/local strategic priorities together.
On a day-to-day basis, your work would involve things like:
- Getting behind our Shared Lives teams and offering them your support with Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance, safeguarding reports and complaints
- Leading the way when we win new contacts in new areas of the UK (the plan is to grow our schemes)
- Deputising for our head of Shared Lives: maintaining the risk register for services, identifying, managing, monitoring and escalating risks appropriately when our head of Shared Lives isn’t around
- Helping keep our Shared Lives carers and supported people feeling happy, connected, motivated and part of our big Shared Lives family
- Finding out what our carers and supported people need and how they feel things are going by heading out on the road to meet them
- Supporting our Shared Lives communications and engagement manager with nailing any info and insights they need for their role by sharing what you know, and supporting them with maintaining and introducing communications and engagement initiatives

About this role
This is a joint role delivered by Class 13 as part of two interconnected programmes in Lambeth. One is a long-term embedded pilot working deeply with two local schools to reimagine school culture from the inside out. The other is part of a borough-wide initiative commissioned by SEL ICB and supported by Black Thrive to improve emotional wellbeing for Black and mixed heritage children.
Both strands aim to create more human, equitable school environments—and we are seeking someone committed to walking alongside families, schools, and systems to help make this happen.
While the role is relational at its core, it also involves managing light but essential administrative and reporting tasks particularly during key programme milestones. This includes maintaining accurate records, preparing summaries of engagement sessions, and handling transcripts to ensure learning is captured and shared.
Role Summary
We are seeking a deeply reflective and relational School & Community Engagement Partner who isn’t afraid to ask bold questions or sit with uncomfortable truths.
This role isn’t about quick fixes or ticking engagement boxes—it’s about nurturing trust, challenging old habits, and reimagining what school can be. You’ll be at the heart of a long-term transformation project, working deeply with two Lambeth schools while also contributing to a broader borough-wide initiative that invites families, staff, and communities to imagine something better—together.
At its core, this work is about shifting power. About listening with care, convening with purpose, and walking alongside parents, carers, teachers, and school leaders as they navigate what change can look like when it’s built on affirmation, curiosity, and collective responsibility.
You’ll help strengthen the connection between schools and families through sustained relationships, collective inquiry, and shared action. Some of your work will be intensive and embedded, walking alongside schools to shift culture from the inside out. Other aspects will stretch wider gathering insight, surfacing patterns, and shaping ideas that ripple beyond a single setting.
This is not a traditional outreach role. It’s connective tissue—bridging classrooms, communities, and change. You’ll be a steady presence: listening, facilitating, building trust, and helping schools reflect not just on what they do, but why.
The School & Community Engagement Partner will report to the Head of Programmes and the primary lead work closely with school leadership, teachers, and local organisations to transform parent-school relationships.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deepen relationships and build community

2. Walk alongside schools as they shift culture

Collaborate with school leaders, governors, and the wider Class 13 team to surface insight, challenge deficit thinking, and support community-led transformation

Contribute to family-led policy change projects, helping create space for shared decision-making and power-sharing in schools

Support the rhythm and routines of the embedded pilot showing up consistently in school life, from attending assemblies to noticing small shifts in culture

Lead structured interviews with teachers participating in the programme, creating a relational space to gather reflective insights using agreed guides.
3. Facilitate wider listening and engagement

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development
- Oversee the advancement of leadership development as a core strategic priority for MU
- Develop and implement programme strategies, resources and tools that strengthen and scale the leadership development initiative, integrating research, monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Design a leadership curriculum that meets the intended project objectives and equips women across diverse contexts, through online and hybrid learning, combining spiritual guidance with practical leadership and management skills
Programme Planning and Budgeting
- Work with PMEL Manager to design and refine M&E frameworks and specific targets
- Develop and manage work plans and budgets in line with project goals and donor requirements
- Identify an appropriate digital platform to be used to run the online aspects of the leadership development programme
- Oversee the successful purchase and use of core equipment necessary to run the digital platform
Programme Implementation and Review
- Lead and support the delivery of leadership training activities across participating dioceses
- Monitor progress against programme outcomes, ensuring high-quality implementation that is timely and within budget
- Collaborate with coordinators, trainers and church leaders to review programme content and adapt as needed for relevance and effectiveness

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in Central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking a Training and Development Manager to join our friendly and collaborative team in the Research Directorate, providing key support in the delivery of the Early Career Researcher Network Leadership and Development SHAPE Programme.
The role
The ECRN Training and Development Manager will work closely with the Head of ECRN and the ECRN Training and Development Officer to deliver the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) and Wellcome Leadership and Advancement SHAPE Programme. This involves overseeing the design and delivery of training content, managing budgets and payments, and coordinating logistics across both online and in-person activities.
You will contribute to the development and implementation of efficient working systems, policies, and processes and work collaboratively with the Head of ECRN to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
With responsibility for leading the planning and delivery of training programmes and workshops, as well as managing programme budgets and overseeing payments, you will also implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track impact.
You will be responsible for line managing a Training and Development Officer. You will also need to coordinate logistics and delivery across virtual and regional formats for the Leadership and Advancement SHAPE programme.
The T&D Manager will support the continuous improvement of operational systems and working practices and liaise with training facilitators, regional partners, and other external providers and internal colleagues across the Academy to ensure alignment and impact.
The ideal candidate for this role will bring extensive experience in training programme management, budget oversight, monitoring and evaluation, and team leadership in an office or organisational setting. Strategic planning, resilience, and effective problem-solving are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence.

About the role
The Senegal team are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Eye Health to oversee the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers programmes in Senegal. The postholder will ensure alignment with Sightsavers policies and preferred programme approaches (in particular the principles of scalable demonstration approaches) working closely with the Country Director to maintain in- house quality standards on the delivery of programmes.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:
- Lead the development of country level action and implementation plans for eye health as agreed with the Global Technical Lead, Eye Health and Country Director, Senegal.

- Deliver effective monitoring and support the evaluation of all aspects of the Eye Health programme, applying learning systematically to drive continuous improvement in projects and programmes

- Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Country Director on financial trends for example.
- Work with the finance team to ensure proper partner accountability for Sightsavers funds.
- Identify new strategic partnerships within the country to help develop Sightsavers eye health programme.
- Participate in all PR activities of the Country Office and represent Sightsavers at different forums in collaboration with the Country Director.
Essential knowledge and skills
- Degree in Medicine, preferably an Ophthalmologist or Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Sciences or related disciplines.
- A proven track record within Programme/Project management, ideally in an INGO environment at PM level.
- Significant experience of strategic programme development.
- Technical knowledge on eye health in Senegal.
- Experience of managing an eye care programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
- Strong advocacy, monitoring evaluation and research and logistics and supply chain management
- Current and ongoing right to work in Senegal
- Able to travel as and when required

Just a Drop is an international NGO working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives. Our projects have benefitted almost two million people across 32 countries since we began in 1998.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Internship in our Programmes Team based near Gillingham in Dorset. Consisting of three Programme Managers and a Head of Programmes, the JaD Programmes Team oversees all aspects of project design and delivery with nine partners in seven countries.
We are looking for someone who would like to build their skills and experience in the International Development Sector. You will support a number of functions from project management to monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to all aspects of JaD’s award winning work in the WASH sector.
Role Overview
The Programmes Intern (PI) will work with four other programmes staff in the Programmes Team and will support the team by undertaking a range of activities concerned with all aspects of JaD project design, coordination, delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and formal reporting. The PI will also interact with our team of Technical Advisers, as well as liaising with members of our Fundraising and Communications team, providing support in securing funding for approved projects and assisting in the flow of information on the delivery of JaD projects and programmes to external audiences.
There is flexibility for the person in this role to work part time (three days a week for ten months or four days a week for seven and a half months) or full time (five days a week for six months). The Intern will receive payment of £12.21 per hour, as well as NI and pension contributions. They will be expected to attend our Programmes Office near Gillingham in Dorset one day a week, with the remaining days worked from home.
Personal Specification
- Degree-level qualification or higher in International Development, International Relations, Environment, Hydrology, Health or other related discipline.
- Demonstrable interest in the international development and/ or WASH sectors.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to take on a variety of new tasks and work on own initiative.
- Excellent IT skills and experience using all standard Microsoft programmes including familiarity with Teams, strong knowledge of Excel is desirable.
- Some experience of CRM platforms such as Salesforce is desirable

Interagency work
· Work to embed the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area.

The Jewish Museum London has undergone substantial positive change over the past two years, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model. The museum is building a new strategy that will lead its transformation over the next 10 years as it tests out innovative new models for exhibitions, displays, learning and engagement, building towards a new permanent site and dynamic operational model. Reporting to the Head of Learning the appointed candidate will have the organisational and administrative skills to ensure the team can effectively deliver programmes for schools, families and communities as well as taking a lead on communicating the museum’s activity through social media, newsletters and the website.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The main role of the Learning and Communications Coordinator will be to administrate the activities of the learning department, in particular our flagship programme of schools workshops both in person and digitally. Excellent communication skills are required as this role will involve being the first point of contact for the department, responding to queries, liaising with teachers, taking bookings and sending out pre- and post- activity information. The Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance (the Alliance) is a group of organisations (Local government, A2 Dominion, Aspire, Connection Support, Elmore, Homeless Oxfordshire and St Mungo’s) that came together in 2022 to deliver single homelessness services across the county under one contract.
Services delivered by the Alliance include the city and county outreach services for people experiencing rough sleeping, supported accommodation such as the hostel O’Hanlon House, shared dispersed supported accommodation, and homelessness prevention services.
The Alliance is commissioned through a pooled annual budget of c£3.8m which all District Councils in Oxfordshire, the City Council, the County Council, and the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire Integrated Care Services, contribute towards. Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City are the lead commissioners of the Alliance.
As part of the initiative, the Alliance will deliver an ambitious housing led change programme which is seeing services remodelled to support and enable people to live in their own homes and fulfil their aspirations.
This role is hosted by Connection Support which is part of the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance. The role will be guided by the work plan of both the alliance chair and the alliance commissioners.
The impact you will have
As the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in making the alliance and the services it delivers a success. You will provide strategic and operational oversight and day to day leadership and management.
