The Funding and Development Officer will play a key role in identifying, securing, and managing income streams through grants, partnerships, donations, and fundraising initiatives. This role will also support organisational growth by developing strategic relationships, improving funding processes, and enhancing the charity’s visibility and impact.

The Funding & Development Officer, will help LYCC be proactive to local identified need and help to source and secure funds to faciltiate support.

Purpose of the job

 The Head of Programmes will lead the strategic planning, delivery, and quality assurance of our youth development programmes. The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality programme implementation, managing key stakeholder relationships, overseeing budgets and resources, and ensuring safeguarding and compliance standards are met.

We’re looking for a hands-on Lead IT infrastructure engineer to take ownership of our IT infrastructure and play a pivotal role in our migration from on-premises to Microsoft Azure.

This is a deeply hands-on, delivery-focused role where you’ll lead the technical design, build, deployment and maintenance of our infrastructure services across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments. We began in 2008 with a mission to help people who are homeless in Leicester by providing them with hot food, drinks and most importantly, companionship and we have evolved from there to the service we provide today.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Operations Manager ensures the effective day-to-day running of The Bridge Homelessness To Hope’s services — including Drop-In Hub and supported accommodation — maintaining safe, high-quality delivery and ensuring that staff and volunteers are supported to provide compassionate and effective support for people experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

As a core member of the Executive Team, the Director of Development will lead on organisational income generation and operational development. Working closely with the CEO, Presidents, this role will oversee all fundraising, partnerships, communications, and internal operations, ensuring STT is financially strong, strategically aligned, and operationally effective.

Leadership & Team Management

· Work closely with the CEO to deliver the organisation’s strategic plan, focusing on sustainable growth, financial health, and operational excellence.

· Work with the Presidents to grow funding and pro-bono support to scale organisational capacity for impact.

· Create and deliver a three-year development strategy, with a focus on diverse and sustainable income.

· Line manage and lead head of, manager, and project officer roles.

Fundraising & Partnerships

· Provide strategic advice to the Head of Development & Communications.

· Support on the management of our STT Prevention Ambassador Network, which should generate philanthropy and donation opportunities.

· Identify new strategic partnerships and funders to nurture, with a focus on growing our philanthropy stream.

· Oversee and grow income across trusts and foundations, philanthropy, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.

Finance

· Oversee financial strategy and operations, ensuring sound financial management withregular reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board of Trustees.

· Oversee budgeting and financial planning with support from manager roles and Oasis Charitable Trust.

Communications & Brand

· Oversee our brand and storytelling, ensuring a consistent, impactful voice across audiences.

· Support external representation of STOP THE TRAFFIK, including speaking engagements, donor presentations, and media opportunities.

Governance & Impact Measurement

· Support the CEO and Board of Trustees through accurate reporting and transparent communication on performance.

· Manage the Senior Leadership Team meetings ensuring alignment to strategy.

· Lead cross-organisational improvement projects to strengthen operational efficiency and impact measurement.

· Lead how we measure our prevention-focused impact, strengthening our theory of change, monitoring & evaluation processes, and overseeing our annual impact report with support from our Communications Managers.

In this role, you will be working with engineering, product and research colleagues to build confidence using observability principles that aids our understanding of our users and help us continually improve our products. We work together in product squads alongside designers, researchers and education experts, regularly releasing new features and improvements to give teachers and their pupils quick and easy access to the highest quality learning resources.

As a young organisation we have been able to leverage the latest technologies to rapidly build and deliver the game changing products we have. Now that we've proven ourselves and are established, we want to mature our processes to ensure we are getting the best out of the technology and remain able to respond quickly to business needs. You will be tasked with raising our monitoring and observability to a high standard across all our key applications while working closely with engineering teams to help them improve the stability of their applications and give engineers more sense of ownership.

You will also drive site reliability engineering principles and be a key driver of automation by working alongside other members of the platform team, helping to improve the overall developer experience.

Candidates must have a good understanding of SRE principles and the value they bring to an organisation. While a good grounding in development practices, security fundamentals and infrastructure operation are key, specific technical skills are less important than a passion for automation, an ability to understand complex systems and a keenness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead the continuous improvement of the observability, performance, and reliability of our web applications (Next.js, JavaScript, Typescript, Node), Serverless Functions (Google Cloud Functions, Cloudflare). Deployed on PaaS Infrastructure (Vercel, Cloudflare).

• Promote and nurture a culture of quality across the product and engineering department, enabling teams in using SLO/SLAs to ensure they maintain a high quality of service delivery.

• Take ownership of our observability, monitoring, logging and reporting solutions to ensure they are easy to use and provide development teams with the information they need to understand service quality, resolve problems quickly, and get meaningful insights into application behaviour.

• Identify and implement ways in which automation can be used to speed up development, secure systems or improve the quality of the services we provide.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

• Considerable experience in designing and implementing monitoring, observability and reporting solutions for complex cloud infrastructures within a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure). In production we’re using Datadog as our main monitoring platform.

• Confident in understanding and maintaining web application code and able to design and build small apps, preferably using JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience working with Cloud computing platforms and a familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools. We’ve chosen Terraform as our Infrastructure as Code tool.

• Comfortable promoting and leading a spirit of collaboration with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role

The Events Manager will lead the planning and delivery of Degrees’ international events, including workshops that bring together funded researchers and the biennial Degrees Global Forum conference. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, they will design and manage high-quality events that strengthen collaboration, showcase research outcomes, and advance Degrees’ mission to support equitable SRM research in the Global South. This role requires strategic oversight, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver complex international events from concept to completion. 

Key responsibilities

Lead planning and delivery of events 

• Be responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of Degrees’ international events, including the biennial Degrees Global Forum and—in cooperation with the programmes team—quarterly regional research workshops.
• Support the delivery of policy engagement and fundraising events.
• Develop event concepts, agendas, and formats that align with organisational priorities. 
• Work closely with colleagues across other workstreams—particularly the Fundraising and Policy Engagement teams—to ensure that events are aligned with strategic priorities, that logistical planning complements programme content and policy objectives, and that participants and speakers are appropriately supported.
• Be responsible for end-to-end event budgets, forecasting, variance reporting; lead procurement;

Operational and logistical management 

• Ensure the smooth delivery of all event logistics, including venue selection, letters of contribution to participants, travel and lodging arrangements, visas, supplier contracting, budget management, insurances and risk assessments.
• Ensure events run smoothly, on schedule, and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and participant experience.

Collaboration and stakeholder engagement 

• Work closely with colleagues across Degrees’ teams (programmes, policy engagement, communications, fundraising, and operations) to ensure events support strategic goals.
• Liaise with external partners, funders, and speakers to build strong relationships and deliver impactful, collaborative events.

Monitoring, learning, and continuous improvement 

• Capture lessons learned from each event and contribute to refining Degrees’ event strategy and processes.
• Support post-event communications, reporting, and knowledge sharing to maximise the impact and visibility of Degrees’ work.

Key relationships

• Within the Programmes team forge close working relations with the Programmes Manager and the three Programme Officers.
