Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently run six levels of English classes and a Mentorship Programme that includes three career pathways:
1. Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.

About the Role
We’re now looking for a new Online Pathway Manager to oversee and expand the Online Higher Education stream. You’ll step into an existing structure — our previous manager will fully brief you — so you won’t be starting from zero.
Your mission will be to help identify and secure online learning opportunities for our mentees who cannot leave Afghanistan. This could include building relationships with universities in the US or Europe, sourcing scholarships or sponsorships, and exploring donated course placements.
You’ll work closely with three Project Coordinators (who are also students in our academy), guiding and mentoring them as they assist you.

• Strong initiative and leadership – someone who can drive things forward independently.
• Confident communicator with good public relations skills.
• Experience in higher education, partnerships, or international development is ideal.
• Based in the United Kingdom or United States (for time-zone alignment).

Our students have completed six levels of English and are now enrolled in one of four mentorship semesters. Each mentee follows her own unique path, whether:

Overview
Established in 2019 and supporting a community of over 30,000 families ARFID Awareness UK is the only registered UK charity dedicated to raising awareness and further information about Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. As a not-for-profit, we work to provide individuals, parents, carers and medical professionals with up-to-date relevant information, research and support.
We are equally committed to supporting medical professionals across varying specialities, by equipping them with the information they need to ensure that their patients receive an early diagnosis and have access to appropriate care.
Our charitable aims are to:
1) Raising awareness about the condition within the medical and associated professions and the general public in such ways as the trustees shall determine;
2) Providing advice and information in such ways as the trustees shall determine to enable and empower parents and carers to advocate for the children in their care;
3) Facilitating research into the condition, the useful results of which will be published for the public benefit;

Time Commitment
Trustees meet twice a year virtually. Meetings last approximately 2 hours.

We are now recruiting a Volunteer Higher Education Pathway Manager to lead and expand our Online Higher Education stream. This is a volunteer leadership position that requires drive, moxie, ambition, and daring, a chance to test your skills and your character while doing something that truly matters.
You’ll step into an existing structure with full guidance from the previous manager, so you won’t be starting from zero. Your goal will be to identify and secure online higher education opportunities for Afghan women who cannot leave the country, whether through university partnerships, scholarships, sponsorships, or donated course placements.
You’ll also guide 3 Project Coordinators (who are students in our academy) and work closely with the Operations Manager to help deliver tangible outcomes.

Sight Research UK is a UK charity focused on funding research into any eye disease. Our vision is a clearer future for those living with sight loss. Our mission: Using our scientific network across the UK, we champion and accelerate innovative eye disease research. Through targeted investment into the most promising science, we will deliver meaningful impact for those living with sight loss.
We are proud to have grown significantly in recent years, doubling our income in 2023–24 and committing over half a million pounds to new research grants. Our innovative funding model is already delivering results, with a record eight Seed Awards and two Translational Research Awards funded last year, helping to bring forward new solutions for people at risk of sight loss.
About the role
Our Board of Trustees is made up of eight individuals who bring a wealth of skills and experience to the organisation. As we look to expand our profile as well as strengthen our governance and clinical expertise, we are now seeking to appoint an additional Trustee with a senior background in medicine, ophthalmology, optometry, or a related field. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our funding strategy, advising on clinical and research priorities, and acting as an ambassador to grow our networks and influence.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a senior clinician, medical professional, or academic, ideally with expertise relevant to eye health, ophthalmology, optometry or translational research. You will bring knowledge and insight to strengthen our Board and help guide our ambitious research strategy. Knowledge of how grant funding is used within eye research from a clinical aspect, as well as knowledge of intellectual property, would also be beneficial. You will also be someone who shares our determination and will support us to raise awareness and increase the volume and quality of applications for grant funding.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Curriculum Design Specialist (Volunteer) to help us strengthen and structure our after-school curriculum framework. This role is ideal for someone passionate about child-centered education, play-based learning, and creating real impact in underserved communities.
What You’ll Do
- Design and structure an engaging after-school curriculum that builds literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
- Integrate play-based, creative, and culturally relevant learning approaches for children in rural settings.

What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

About the role:
As an Ice-Skating Support Volunteer, you’ll be joining our Sense Active team, supporting Sense’s Activity Facilitator, alongside another volunteer, with the delivery of weekly ice-skating sessions for disabled people with complex needs and their carers. With over 25 years’ experience, our facilitators deliver safe, enjoyable and inclusive ice-skating sessions. You’ll play an important part in supporting disabled participants and carers to develop their independence and confidence, socialise with others, and have a thrilling experience!
A DBS check will be needed due to the setting and the likelihood of regular contact with people we support. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through this process.
Key responsibilities:
You’ll spend time supporting a range of activities, including:
· Standing and moving on the ice for extended periods of time (up to 3 hours).
· Supporting participants on the ice (physical and instructional support).
· Helping participants with collection and return of skates.
· Supporting carers to become more confident on the ice.
· Maintaining relationships with attendees and carers by taking the time to socialise and build rapport.
· Supporting the set-up and closing of activities.
· Exposure to cold temperatures and slippery surfaces.
Skills and qualities:
This role would suit you if you’re:
· A confident ice-skater able to skate at good level.
· Comfortable wearing ice skates and engaging in physical activity.
· Experienced in working with disabled people is desirable but not essential.
· Someone with a positive attitude and will enjoy the opportunity to learn more about working with disabled people.
· Patient, caring, positive and have good interpersonal skills
· Able to work as part of a team and take instruction from others.
· Passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people.
· Calm, kind and have a friendly personality.
