About the role

The role of the Corporate and Community Partnerships Manager is to generate income to meet the Charity’s fundraising requirements by maintaining and developing successful partnerships with corporate and community group supporters, through donations, sponsorship, employee and group fundraising activities and events (organised both by Hope and third parties).

As a Corporate and Community Partnerships Manager at Hope, you will work alongside our existing Corporate and Community Fundraiser. Together you will be responsible for the delivery of corporate and community activities, and our annual income and expenditure budget.

About the role

The Employment Advisor’s role is to deliver the core employment support provision in NHS TT to provide employment advice, skills-based interventions, information and practical support to help people who are looking to return to work or retain their current employment.

The role will involve working with a caseload of clients with common mental health problems to provide interventions to enable them to gain or retain their employment, exchange to a more suitable job role, or return to their current employment after a period of sickness absence from work.

You will work directly with Job Centre Plus, employers and employment agencies to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities.

About you 

This role would suit someone with experience of providing high-quality vocational/employment support and/or experience of working within an employee relations environment. If you have a sound understanding of the employment needs, barriers and difficulties faced by people with mental health conditions together with excellent IT and communication skills, both written and verbal, this could be the role for you.

About You:

You will have experience of training and presenting as well as supporting Face to Face campaigns ideally within a third sector fundraising role. Key to this role will be the ability to build, manage and develop relationships.

About The Role

• Provide continual training and compliance monitoring support to our Face to Face partners in the execution of all door, private Sites and events fundraising, this includes leading on developing new opportunities in conjunction with St John events.
• Oversee and collaboratively work with our Telephone Fundraising partners on their training and compliance of all deliverables such as welcome calls, upgrades, reactivations and other fundraising campaigns – includes caller listening
• Oversee regular audits of agents, to monitor against key auditory compliance and performance metrics.
• Manage relationships with our Face to Face partners with training, development and materials, and performance reviews. Monitoring various forms or training and reviewing inductions in line with our agreed contract.
• Build a strong knowledge of all areas of St John Ambulance’s work, carrying out continual research and gathering information, case studies and photos for use in training booklets, scripts and materials. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters.

SENIOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY WORKER

Job Title: Senior Regional Finance & Operations Manager - based in Central Africa – International Applications strongly encouraged!
Reporting to: Great Lakes and Central Africa Regional Representative and Head of Finance - Africa
Preferable: 6 years experience in the Humanitarian field
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Principal Location: Bukavu with regular travel to other parts of the Country and Region

Background:

Street Child believes every child deserves to go to school and learn. Our projects focus on education, child protection, and livelihood support to address the social, economic, and structural issues underpinning today’s education crisis. We partner with local organizations and communities to deliver our locally rooted programs. We use evidence to drive learning and the refinement and scale-up of programs to create maximum impact for most children at the lowest cost. We pride ourselves on being willing to go to the world’s most challenging places where others won’t, including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Since 2008 we have helped over 250,000 children go to school and learn and supported over 25,000 families to set up businesses to afford the cost of educating their children.

Part 1: Role Purpose:

This role aims to offer financial and operations management support to Great Lakes and Central Africa Region programs, focusing majorly on Street Child Programmes in DRC. The role reports to both Great Lakes and Central Africa Regional Representative and Head of Finance in Africa.

The role holds a senior position within the Street Central Africa Region team and will oversee Street Child – financial and operational setup to support operationalizing all program/project implementation in full compliance with donors’ and SC operational standards. The role will also provide financial support to programs across Great Lakes and Central Africa and partner organizations to support the development and implementation of robust financial management and reporting systems and assess and strengthen the control environment, financial management, grant management, and reporting. It will be building the finance and grants management capacity of Street Child staff and partners. A vital part of this is facilitating communication between Programmes and Finance staff.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

Finance Management:

• Supervise the country's standard financial systems establishment and maintenance in line with STREET-CHILD Financial Policy and Procedures, donor and local legislation requirements to provide appropriate levels of security and controls over the organization's resources and operations across the country to ensure success, consistency, and compliance.
• Develop and update quarterly the country's Master Budget to ensure that all funding gaps are covered.
• Provide strong leadership to the Finance and Admin team in all offices, whether with direct line management or technical, ensuring competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.
• Provide financial advice to the budget holders and local partners, ensure adequate support is provided to the program, and ensure the alignment of resource allocations with organizational priorities at the budgeting and implementation stages.
• Ensure that monthly accounting closure is timely, accurate, and compliant with STREET-CHILD financial policies and procedures for all Street-Child field offices and perform the bank reconciliation as appropriate.
• Using the Street-Child accounting system, produce the Budget Vs.—actuals for internal use by the country team and budget holders on a monthly basis.
• Oversee all financial and logistical requests made by the technical team and ensure they are in line with the Street-Child guidelines (Advance request, travel request, leave request, Toil request).
• Lead on applying Street-Child anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy and ensure all DRC staff understand and adhere to it, including Zero tolerance.
• Ensure regular financial and operational checks are performed for each local partner involved in Street-Child project implementation.
• Elaborate, review, and update Finance Standard Operating Procedures for STREET-CHILD DRC and across the Central and Great Lakes region as required and relevant.
• Conduct spot checks on transactions be responsible for maintaining transparency and accountability within finance and administration.
• Build financial management capacity for local partners in the region.

Grant Management and Budget proposal:

• Collaborating with other managers during proposal development, lead on the costing in proposal writing.
• Produce grant financial reports for donors in their formats.
• With the Senior Programme Manager, co-lead monthly grants review meetings involving all active partners.
• Manage the budget review, cost extension, realignment, and alert on any potential risk.
• Ensure appropriate measures are taken to address audit findings and recommendations associated with all grants.
• Conduct grant management training for local partners and provide orientation on finance matters and tools to non-finance staff.

Operations Oversight:

• Lead all aspects of HR, administration, procurement and logistics in the region
• Adequately manage internal and external HR and admin risks, highlight & resolve relevant issues with national institutions with support from the country leadership team (Taxes, labour inspection).
• Maintain daily responsibility for local staff issues, i.e., contracts, payroll, job descriptions, salary scales, leave, and benefit in support of the HR and Admin Assistant.
• Facilitate frequent staff meetings, and update the staff on the new Street-Child guidelines, regulations, etc.
• Lead the outsourcing of some services such as staff medical insurance, legal issues and the adherence to national labour laws, taxation systems and rules, social security, and insurance rules, etc.
• Lead in running procurement, ensuring value for money and overseeing all contracts which are placed with suppliers
• Ensure that all necessary agreements, permits, and licenses for Street-Child operations in DRC are in place, and keep updated on national rules and regulations pertaining to Street-Child activities.
• Lead staff adherence to all processes and ensure strict and contextualized application across the DRC program.
• Ensure proper asset management by initiating tools and control systems, including tagging.

Part 3: Person Specification

Attributes Essential Desirable

Education / Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level or higher.
• Recognised Accountancy Qualification.
• Degree in International Business Administration, finance or related field; or attendance at specific relevant training courses.

Experience and Knowledge:

• 6 years post qualification experience.
• Experience of implementing internal controls and finance procedures.
• Experience of managing multi donor grants and good knowledge of donor compliance rules and requirements – in particular working with ECHO, BHA, EU, SIDA, NMFA, FCDO, USAID, UNICEF, ECW, WFP, etc.
• Knowledge of development issues and concepts.

Skills and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of finance & logistics policy within non-governmental organizations.
• Knowledge of computer applications and accounting software’s.
• Excellent relationship building skills, with an ability to skilfully navigate both national and international stakeholders.
• Knowledge of French, Swahili or other relevant local languages.

• Strong interpersonal, management and team work skills.

St. John’s church Deptford possesses a unique grade II* listed Binns Organ and a development grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for its restoration. 

The Role 

To deliver the Development Phase of the Project to a high standard. You will refine the budget, create the project’s cashflow, revise the project plan and organise procuring of three roles: an Activity Planner, an Evaluator, and a Fundraiser. You will maintain a close overview of the project plan for the Development Phase, compiling NLHF Development Phase final report and evaluation. The role is for a duration of nine months.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Centre Fundraising Organiser to join the fundraising team at our Lanarkshire centre in Airdrie. 

As an integral member of the team, you will be based at the centre and assist in the delivery of a wide range of operational and administrative support, as well as social media activities.

• First point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers.

• Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers, etc. (by phone, mail and in person), including responding to requests for information, materials and more.

• Refer enquiries to the Centre Fundraiser where appropriate.

• Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise, and work with Maggie’s in line with the national strategy and plan.

This is a demanding role in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently. There will be a requirement to work irregular hours and travel locally.

About the role:

We are looking for two exceptional Senior Philanthropy Managers – Health to join our Fundraising & Supporter Development (F&SD) team to significantly increase philanthropic income for health fundraising priorities across King’s College London (KCL). The roles will focus on major gifts (£100k - £3m gift level) to raise funds in support of the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences (FoLSM) and the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care (NMPC).

Your primary responsibilities will include managing and curating content for Action Tutoring's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.

In addition to social media management, you will contribute to the creation of diverse content, such as graphics, videos, and photography, with occasional visits to our school programmes and events. You will also monitor and report on the impact of our social media campaigns, staying abreast of industry trends to optimise our digital presence.

Duties and responsibilities
• Responsibility for managing Action Tutoring’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube). Plan content (in collaboration with wider Marketing and Communications team) in line with the charity’s wider campaigns, volunteer recruitment rounds and key messages, ensuring regular diverse posting.
• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop engaging content which encourages the recruitment of high quality volunteer tutors, enquiries from potential partner schools and raises awareness of the charity to potential fundraisers, donors and employees.
• Promote the breadth of Action Tutoring’s activities and projects on social media, working across the whole team to gather content to raise brand awareness (including Programme, Philanthropy, Operations, Policy and Impact).
• Contribute to the development of content for social media channels including graphics, video and photography, with the occasional visit to school programmes and other charity events.
• Regularly analyse and report on the impact of Action Tutoring’s social media content through weekly analysis, quarterly reporting and campaign analysis.
• Monitor social media trends and industry developments to ensure we’re maximising content across all channels.
• Lead on blogger, influencer and community outreach (e.g. Facebook community groups, Next Door) to help raise awareness of Action Tutoring's volunteering opportunities and encourage applications.
• Manage our national digital adverts (such as Indeed, CharityJobs, Do-It). Respond to any direct enquiries sent through these and other digital platforms, including the Volunteer Facebook Group and Google business.
• Identify national digital advertising opportunities for volunteer and school marketing, and support with content for regional adverts. Work with the Marketing Manager to analyse impact and decide where our budget is best spent.
• Support the day to day management of Action Tutoring’s website, editing content with updates upon request. Support with creating high quality, engaging content for the Action Tutoring website to ensure it’s optimised.
• Create external marketing materials on request and support with ad-hoc visual design work.
• Support with the attendance at volunteering promotion events, mainly university fairs.
• Any other duties deemed reasonable by the Chief Executive Officer.

The Head of Youth Engagement & Participation is a key senior leadership role at Peer Power Youth. Responsible for leading the youth engagement team (YET) across all aspects of safe and supported youth engagement (individual change) and ensuring youth voices contribute to tangible and meaningful system change (participation/system change).

The Head of Youth Engagement and Participation will directly line manage 4-5 senior staff members but holds the overall responsibility for the Youth Engagement Team.

The Young Partners we engage and connect with, have experience of justice and care/looked after systems. We work across London and Southeast regions, with occasional national events. Our work takes place in the community and in secure settings (examples include -HMYOI Feltham, Oasis Restore Secure School, and Secure Children’s Homes).

We’re looking for someone with first level NMC registration, who has a highly specialised knowledge of Parkinson’s, and recent experience of supporting a wide range of people with Parkinson’s from diagnosis to end of life within health and social care settings. 

About the role 

You’ll provide expert nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s and related conditions to people contacting Parkinson’s UK national helpline. 

You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible whatever that means to them; and that they feel able to take an active role in their treatment and become their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert telephone nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s, signposting clients to appropriate internal and external resources as necessary.

• Develop and update professional knowledge of all aspects of Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism to ensure that the information and advice provided is accurate and based on best available evidence.

• Undertake national helpline work to ensure cover across the helpline’s working hours and in line with guidance and as part of a dedicated team.

• Maintain your own knowledge of the work of the charity and other health and social care providers.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to provide information on Parkinson’s medications without prescribing or recommending specific drugs. 

• Knowledge of the importance of raising safeguarding concerns.

• Experience of providing telephone support, including use of active listening and questioning skills, and demonstrable digital competence, including online case management systems

• Ability to cope with challenging or emotional situations and/or people. 

• Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with others.
