The Press Officer will be a member of the External Affairs Team. This role is designed to support the development and implementation BABCP’s external affairs plan with a view to raising the profile and influence of BABCP amongst the general public and promoting the benefits of CBT.

About the Role

The role of the Media Officer is to support Reprieve’s communications through traditional and social media, in support of the organisation’s strategic and fundraising objectives. You will be responsible for building relationships with journalists, providing media advice to Reprieve staff, and working with colleagues to ensure external messaging is consistent in quotes, briefings, social media content, and on Reprieve’s website. You will help to find and develop stories, collaborating with journalists and external partners on media that has an impact: revealing human rights abuses, shaping policy and raising the profile of our clients.

About the role

Galop is looking for an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional to act as a specialist lead within the charity on monitoring, analysing and evaluating our internal services data for robust research and reporting. At Rights & Security International, we are seeking a part-time Racial Justice Officer to support the growth of our racial justice work in the UK. We are a London-based international human rights organisation that works to end racism, Islamophobia and other abuses when governments act in the name of ‘security’ or ‘counter-terrorism’.

For the past decade, we have been investigating the UK’s ‘Prevent’ counter-extremism programme, including how it impacts minoritised children in schools, British Muslims and neurodivergent people.

We are looking for someone with a broad skill set ranging from research and analysis to outreach and networking. You will help us build or join advocacy networks among national and local UK groups, support our litigation and freedom-of-information requests on Prevent, and investigate possible harms.

Purpose of the job

We are seeking a skilled engagement officer to deliver an innovative programme of community-led river engagement activities in and surrounding the River Roding as part of a project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, ‘The Roding Rises’. This role will engage with groups from the urban and rural reaches of the river Roding catchment to co-design activities that support the delivery of The Roding Rises activity plan and encourage participants along an engagement pathway from awareness to participation and independent action. This role offers the post holder the opportunity to make a difference in diverse areas of London, with varying challenges and a range of ambitions.

The key skill for this role is being able to connect with and bring people together. The project relies on creating strong networks of grassroots organisations, community leaders and representatives from the public and private sectors, including councillors and politicians.

You’ll thrive in this role if you can identify the strengths and assets of communities and individuals and create opportunities for them to flourish. Collect and record qualitative and quantitative data on events and activities run, including written and verbal feedback from partners and participants, photos and numbers of attendees, keeping to GDPR requirements. Evaluate this information to develop the methods for engagement and inform future activities.

7. Carry out the administrative duties to run events, including conducting risk assessments and method statements, managing event registrations, liaising with local councils and community groups and maintaining and managing event equipment.  

1. Work with the Thames21 Training Officer to establish a group of volunteers who are trained in Thames21’s modules to maintain and monitor local sites. Includes supporting existing volunteers and assisting with building their capacity so groups become autonomous.
2. Represent Thames21 and The Roding Rises at relevant local forums and proactively recruit volunteers through in-person engagement events.
3. Maintain clear records of progress, ensure all administration and statistical information is kept up to date,
4. Work with Thames21’s Communications Team to promote the project, celebrate its achievements and learnings; ensure key milestones are recognised, funders are acknowledged, and volunteer opportunities are publicised.
5. Attend Thames21 Team Meetings and liaise with other Thames21 staff.

Job Purpose

This role is critical for delivering activities with our prestigious corporate supporters while simultaneously building an impactful alumni community. The postholder will join Ada during an exciting phase of growth and will be responsible for both stakeholder management, volunteering and events and ensuring former students and apprentices are supported in their career progression and engagement through the #alwaysAda alumni programme. The role focuses on supporting  partnerships and shaping and delivering events, including professional development, volunteering, and mentoring/support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Philanthropy and Alumni Executive Officer will be responsible for a combination of corporate partnership delivery and alumni community management:

A. Corporate Partnerships, Fundraising & Volunteering 

• Support the department  to develop and deliver partnership plans for all supporters.

• Ensure partnership objectives are met across programme activity, including employee volunteering.

• Work with other teams to deliver  volunteering opportunities, especially the Coaching programme which matches corporate volunteers to learners.

• Develop briefings and communications to corporate partners to strengthen partnerships.

• Provide tracking and reporting of all engagement activities with partners.

• Deliver a suite of events and touch points for supporters, and support the delivery of a calendar of events such as Ada Lovelace Day, 10th year anniversary, International Women's Day and other flagship events

B. Alumni Relations and Community Management

• Develop and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the alumni community 

• Produce termly newsletters 

• Undertake regular data collection cycles (using surveys and research) to track current employment and needs of alumni.

• Maintain our Alumni Data ensuring rigorous data protection/GDPR rules are adhered to.

• Help to continuously improve the alumni programme offer

• Deliver and shape a programme of planned communications and marketing to drive alumni engagement.

• Track and maintain alumni engagement, with a drive for meaningful engagement 

• Deliver and shape a programme of both in-person and virtual events and activities to drive impact, such as a jobs board, career coaching, and networking events.

• Maintain, manage, and internally champion the alumni database.

• Recruit and support champions from within the alumni network to act as alumni ambassadors.

• Attend professional development activities and meetings that may take place outside of normal working hours.

• Be an internal advocate for the Ada alumni community and external go to for Alumni involvement.

• Maintain and grow the alumni LinkedIn group.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Experience of successfully delivering employee volunteering programmes.

• Experienced at dealing with a range of people in an outward-facing role.

• Experience managing individuals and groups of volunteers.

• Experience of in-person event delivery working with corporate stakeholders.

• Experience in the delivery and management of external events and/or volunteering projects.

• Fundraising experience or interest in following a career in fundraising and corporate partnerships.

• Experience of managing and collecting data sets, and the ability to think critically and analyse data/feedback to modify activity.

• Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities and work under pressure.

• Relationship building across a wide range of stakeholders.

• Degree level qualification or appropriate professional experience.

As part of the NFCC People, Culture and Leadership (PCL) Hub this post plays a key role in supporting and enabling fire and rescue services (FRS) to drive organisational and culture change. 

The postholder will provide comprehensive co-ordination and high-level administrative support to the PCL Hub Team and the PCL Strategic Plan, including a range of leadership development programmes and learning opportunities.They will support the PCL catalogue through the monitoring of risk/issue logs, assisting the development of new products, and co-ordinating short and long-term approaches to evaluation. 

The postholder will coordinate the establishment, delivery and maintenance of a high-quality customer service approach and appropriate levels of administrative support for all PCL Hub activities.
