Overview
We will be launching our new programme from September 2025, initially as a pilot working with families across Wandsworth, with aims to be able to expand and continue beyond this.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Support Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing our new Family Support programme. Your initial focus will be leading on the development of the service, implementing policies and procedures, building referral pathways, and recruiting a team of skilled Family Support Workers.
Once the service is established, you will manage a high-quality programme providing support and guidance to families facing complex challenges. Your role will involve overseeing a team of Family Support Workers, case management, fostering effective collaboration with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, and leading the service under a shared vision to ensure the well-being of children and their families.
Using a restorative approach, you will develop strong relationships to support families and empower them to take an active role in their own support plans and interventions, helping them build resilience and make informed decisions. Purpose of job
To lead Wikimedia UK’s work with the education sector, focusing on secondary schools, and including universities and non-formal education. Create a step change in the scale and impact of our education work.
Main Duties
1. Programme Development and Delivery
- Lead on the development and delivery of Wikimedia UK’s education programme, in collaboration with the Director of Programmes and Evaluation and other colleagues
- Build on our learning from past and existing activities across Wikimedia UK and the wider movement to develop and roll out a new Wikimedia and information literacy programme for the UK’s secondary school sector; adapting this for the four nations as appropriate
- In conjunction with other Programmes staff, support the delivery of information literacy projects within higher education, through existing and new strategic partnerships as well as smaller projects and interventions such as Wikimedia in the Classroom courses
- Develop and deliver a range of information literacy activities
- Seek opportunities for new partnerships within the education sector, and grow existing relationships with potential delivery partners, for example within the cultural sector
- Work with the Development team and other staff to identify and follow up funding opportunities for existing or potential projects
- Support other staff within the Programmes team in their own work with the education sector
2. Sector Advocacy
- Promote the importance of media and information literacy skills to digital citizenship and civic engagement, and demonstrate Wikimedia’s value in developing those skills through running targeted interventions and disseminating our research and outcomes
- Advocate for a strong focus on media and information literacy skills in schools and university curricula, and work with other staff, partners and allies to campaign for public policy initiatives and investment to support these skills across society
3. Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact
- Run and evaluate the pilots of our work in schools
- Report regularly on programme plans, outputs and outcomes, in collaboration with other staff in the Programmes team
- Handle documentation and record all relevant programme metrics. Update CRM records for partnerships, volunteers and activities
4. Communication and Dissemination
- Write blog posts, create case studies, and generally contribute to the promotion and dissemination of our work and impact, in collaboration with the Communications team
- Engage in public speaking opportunities on behalf of Wikimedia UK in promoting our work, as required
- Engage with other Wikimedia organisations, sharing our education work and peer-learning

Role Summary

The Supporter Relationship Manager is responsible for all individual donor support processes, systems, strategies and individual giving fundraising appeals, which ensure we have excellent relationships with our donors to retain and grow our individual giving income.

The Early Intervention Practitioners will provide preventative, early intervention support to children, young people and their families in primary schools in Runnymede, Waverley and Surrey Heath, through delivering a range of evidence-based interventions to enable each young person to realise their potential, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully within their school, and make a positive contribution within their community.
Responsibilities
Design, deliver and review evidence-based interventions for children and young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths
· Assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them to identify individual goals to achieve desired change (Goals Based Outcome Assessments)
· Provide support to young people facing a wide range of issues, in both one to one and group settings to address emerging needs and help build resilience, develop coping strategies and improve their mental health & wellbeing
· Provide advice, guidance and signposting through a range of activities, to young people and their families, that will connect them to resources that will support young people’s wellbeing
· Gain input from and provide input to parents and carers regarding the support offered to their children and young people, recognising the valuable role they play in their child’s wellbeing

Develop and maintain relationships with key school staff in primary schools and Schools Based Needs Team
· Work collaboratively with pastoral staff in school, Surrey Wellbeing Partners, Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local Mental Health Support Teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families

Impact, Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting
· To record accurately individual engagement and evidence of change using appropriate outcomes data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated

The School:
Merchant Taylors’ School is a large Independent Boys’ School, situated in 280 acres of parkland in Northwood, Middlesex. The School was founded in 1561, is owned by the Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust and moved to its present site in 1933. There are four distinct boys’ day schools on campus. The Nursery, the Pre-Prep & the Prep cater for 370 boys, while the Senior School has over 960 pupils. The Senior School employs over 110 teachers and 160 Support staff across Merchant Taylors’ School.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Fundraising
· Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.
· In conjunction with external consultants, running our (currently) biennial telephone fundraising campaigns and Giving Days.
· Liaising with school departments, clubs and societies to identify exciting projects to motivate supporters.
· Segmenting and targeting recipients for appeals to ensure the greatest impact and returns.
· Devising the strategy for promoting legacy giving as a means of supporting Merchant Taylors’, and to implement this strategy to increase the number of known legacy pledges to the school.
Stewardship
· Establishing and running a comprehensive benefactor stewardship programme that thanks and stewards donors at all levels, including legacy pledges, through regular communication and events.
Reporting
· Reporting on progress against all objectives to the Development and Alumni Relations Sub-Committee of Governors.
· Where appropriate, working with the Development Executive (Events and Communications), to produce benefactor report publications and contribute to other Development publications.
· Ensuring that all contact with OMTs and parents is recorded on the Development Office’s database, the Raiser’s Edge.

Introduction
The National House Project (NHP) supports Local Authorities to work with young people to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to live connected and fulfilling lives. By developing a community of support, completing the House Project Programme and being able to make their house a home young people can look forward to a positive future.
This is an exciting time to join NHP and we are seeking a skilled and experienced professional who can support our vision to ensure that young people leaving care live connected and fulfilling lives.
About the role
Whilst the House Project approach sets out a clear pathway for young people to move into a house that becomes their home, being in the House Project is so much more than an offer of accommodation.
Staff working in the projects are trained in relational and trauma informed approaches. They use a psychologically informed practice framework to work with young people in both groupwork and individual settings and this work is supported by social pedagogical approaches. Working with young people in a groupwork setting and offering individual direct support enables the development of relationships and shared experiences which allows young people to be involved in the running of their LHP and central to the decisions that are made about them.
NHP provides a framework and not a model and whilst LHPs must keep to the fidelity of the approach, local environments and the young people themselves will determine how projects proceed. This is where you will come in as a practice lead. With knowledge of child development, attachment styles, trauma informed care, the care system and the House Project approach you will support staff in LHPs to work in ways to develop practice that puts young people at the heart of the decision-making process and supports the local ‘system’ to improve how young people leave care.
As a Practice Lead you will have responsibility for a number of LHPs and will:
- Ensure that LHPs have young people at the heart of the decision-making process and that practice is evidence based and trauma informed
- Ensure that LHPs adhere to the fidelity of the approach whilst flexing to accommodate local arrangements
- Manage risk and deal with trauma at an individual, organisational and systemic level, turning these challenges into opportunities for change with improved outcomes for the young people.
- Work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core team to ensure that young people continue to drive their own LHP and develop practice at both a local and national level

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education, and community-building.
With a particular focus on coordinating and supporting our Branch network, you will collaborate on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. You will be the first port of call for advice and expertise relating to school libraries and enabling our members to more effectively support their school communities. Supporting the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops for members, you will work with your SLA colleagues, in particular the Training and Events Officer, to deliver a high-quality member offer and to ensure member needs are reflected in all offerings. The ability to travel to training and events across the UK is essential. Duties include:
Branch network and member support
- Work with the CEO to develop the SLA Branch Network and accompanying strategies
- Identify opportunities for developing initiatives to grow and develop the Branch network community, that will deliver on the SLA mission
- Develop strong relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders to support network growth and enable members to take full advantage of all relevant opportunities available to them
- Provide advice for SLA members on all aspects of school libraries, ensuring they are supported and can be as effective as possible in their school communities
- Drive engagement and development of online communities as part of the branch network
Training and events
- Work with the Training and Events Coordinator to support and deliver a calendar of exciting, engaging and informative events
- Support the delivery of online and in-person networking events and workshops with a focus on the Branch network community
- Represent the association at relevant events and for programmes (e.g., conferences, webinars, book awards) to promote membership and services
- Support training and event delivery (online and in-person), engaging and inspiring audiences as needed
- Support development of training programmes, toolkits and resources using member insight to inform
Outreach and communications
- Coordinate the mentoring scheme and ensure it is promoted effectively, with necessary support and development available to mentees and training for mentors
- Use your sector insight to identify opportunities for development of research and other initiatives, maintaining links and horizon scanning
- Provide SLA consultancy aligned with strategic approaches, supporting schools with development of their libraries, reading and information literacy provision to help children and young people reach their full potential

- Oversee the book review process in support of TSL, our quarterly journal
- Supporting management of the SLA resource library, working with colleagues to ensure alignment

Building relationships and an ability to foster collaboration and community engagement will be an important part of this role. All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.
To be successful in this role you should ideally be able to demonstrate:
· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape
· clear understanding of the curriculum and teaching and learning outcomes
· knowledge of children and young people’s literature
· experience developing and delivering inspirational training, to small and large groups, both online and in person
· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources

An expert communicator, you will be experienced in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Experience of consultancy, schools’ engagement and outreach would be advantage.
The salary for this position is £19, 594.59 (FTE £29,000) for 25 hours per week, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.
