The Coventry Diocesan Board of Finance Ltd (DBF) manages the financial affairs and hold the assets of the Diocese and its associated entities as well as managing activities to serve and equip these parishes through various activities and projects. 

The Finance & Governance team handle all matters concerning Diocesan and Cathedral finance including the administration and collection of parish share, paying invoices and expenses, budgeting, annual statutory, management accounts, clergy stipends, staff salaries, advice to parishes on parochial finance matters. 

This role covers the full range of work in an accounting system dealing with input to and output from all ledgers with specific responsibility for the administration of parish shares and fees including the issuing of regular statements to parishes. The purpose is to ensure that the accounting system has accurate and timely financial data which is available to those who require it either for decision-making or for external reports and accounts.

About the Role

This role is essential to the expansion of our work. You’ll be responsible for developing and improving our training and onboarding offer, coordinating hostel partnerships, and working with local veterinary practices to arrange treatment when needed.

You’ll work closely with our team of project co-ordinators, volunteers, and external partners to grow the scheme sustainably and embed long-term change in hostels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination and development of the Dog Champion Scheme in new and existing locations

• Develop and maintain training content and onboarding resources, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accessibility

• Support hostels throughout their journey to becoming pet-friendly — from initial engagement to follow-up and review

• Work closely with hostel staff to deliver a consistent, trauma-informed approach to supporting residents with pets

• Liaise with veterinary partners to arrange timely treatment for pets, ensuring continuity of care and strong local relationships

• Identify and respond to areas for improvement across training and delivery, using data and feedback

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation

• Build strong relationships with hostel partners, referral agencies, and support services

• Work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers to ensure joined-up working and shared learning

• Represent Street Paws at external forums, events, and training sessions where relevant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two key individuals to join the team at Basis Yorkshire as a Sexual Exploitation Specialist (16+). You will be providing bespoke trauma informed 1-1 and group work for women who have experienced, or who are experiencing sexual exploitation. 

This role provides trauma informed support to girls and women who are at risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation. Working as part of an Adult Sexual Exploitation Partnership Project, you will be supporting girls and women aged 16+ using a theory of change which includes engaging through assertive outreach, helping to overcome trauma and complex emotions, empowering to build positive social networks and building on strengths through exploring their options. You will also be responsible for facilitating a weekly drop in session for women who have experienced Sexual Violence alongside another member of the Basis team. You will support girls and women to access the Criminal Justice System should they wish to do so, enabling them to stay safe and bringing perpetrators to justice.  Wakefield is a new Service Delivery area for Basis Yorkshire and as part of this role you will work with the Service Delivery Manager and other Basis staff to establish strong working partnerships with key services in the area including, Children’s Services, Police and Adult Social Care.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Charity complies with relevant legislation and regulations.  The Head of Governance, Compliance & Risk will help maintain the ‘conscience of the charity’ to ensure that the Charity maintains public trust and executes its business in line with best practice. The role will be responsible for monitoring the compliance of legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the Charity and its activities.

The person will: 

· Facilitate the smooth operation of the Charity’s formal decision-making governance structures (including Committees reporting to the Board), ensuring that all Board meetings and all Board Committees are properly constituted and provided with clear terms of reference.

· Ensure the Charity complies with its Articles of Association and where appropriate drafting and incorporating amendments in accordance with correct procedures, including management of any governance issues for the Charity Commission. 

· Review and monitor procedures to ensure that the Charity complies with the requirements of the Charity Commission and charity legislation alongside other company law and Company House requirements.

· Maintain the following registers and respond to appropriate requests concerning information they contain: Members of the Board of Trustees, Trustees’ interests, Gifts and hospitality accepted and refused, Persons with significant control register and Governance of the Donors register (adherence to GDPR).

· Be responsible for facilitating the proper induction of Trustees into their role, advising and assisting them in their duties and responsibilities.

· Update and review governance policies and procedures and ensure their effective implementation.

· Design and develop mechanisms to ensure that there is a robust framework for compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements and that this is in line with best practice.

· Provide advice to staff on compliance with legislation, regulation and policies. This includes researching and investigating matters, challenging existing practice and agreeing new ways of working where required.

· Lead on the Charity’s whistleblowing arrangements and support the ‘Freedom to Speak Up Champion’ in the investigation and management of whistleblowing matters.

· Design and maintain key registers and declarations in line with internal and external requirements. This will include the development of other key internal compliance registers, including those relating to contracts, complaints and policies.

· Manage the Governance, Compliance and Risk Officer to support the operation and logistics of the governance, compliance and risk related work. 

· Contribute, as a member of the Charity’s management team, to the wider strategic projects and developments. 

· Work flexibly to support any governance, compliance, risk and legal responsibilities or other duties commensurate with the post.

The successful candidate will have:

· Qualification in corporate governance or relevant experience. 

· Experience of servicing and supporting Boards and committees and advising on complex governance matters.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

In this role you will lead on maintaining, developing, and delivering all aspects of our charity’s communications strategy and its associated activities, working closely with the Communications Assistant as well as the CEO, Fundraising Lead, Library Manager and Publishing Manager. Primarily an outward facing role, the postholder will ensure that the charity has the broadest possible positive exposure to stakeholders – both current and future – and continue to build Living Paintings into a credible, recognisable and positive brand.

They manage over 40 nature reserves and have more than 50 staff, 300 volunteers, and over 9000 members. They are an autonomous charity, but they are increasingly working collectively, to ensure that their local actions have a national impact and help to address global issues. 

Our client are looking for two conscientious individuals to lead on the management of reserves across Shropshire, ensuring they are in good ecological condition and help to develop them as safe & inspiring places for public access, education, research and demonstration. You’ll support colleagues and potentially line manage placements and junior roles, and liaise with volunteers, contractors and colleagues across the Trust to deliver priority works on your reserves. Good working relationships with neighbouring landowners and partners will be vital to ensure a quick response to any reported issues. With a meticulous approach to work, you will maintain accurate inspection reports and surveys, ensuring safety for visitors and managing budgets for your allocated reserves. 

What our client are looking for:

To be successful, you’ll have experience of habitat and estate management including inspections, planning and directing work and will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing projects for wildlife, including budget management. You’ll be confident and approachable, able to provide support and mentoring to colleagues and inspire a passion for wildlife and nature to those around you. You’ll be accustomed to managing and motivating volunteer groups and supervising contractors. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence. 

Please note, evening and weekend work may be required from time to time. Paid overtime is not available, but time off in lieu of hours worked will be given.

Global Policy and Campaigns Planning and Performance Lead

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime, 35 hours per week

Location: London, UK, subject to the right to work (other locations can be considered)

UK Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

*60/40 hybrid working at WaterAid is currently defined as: 60% of an employee’s time in a location of their choice, 40% face to face, defined as in the London office, at conferences or at stakeholder meetings or other location as relevant for the proper performance of the duties of the role.

About the Team:

This role reports directly to the Executive Director of WaterAid’s Global Policy and Campaigns (GPAC) team and is a member of GPAC’s Senior Management Team (SMT). GPAC sets WaterAid’s 10-year policy agenda and positions, supporting colleagues across all levels to advocate on this agenda and bring WaterAid together to advocate for change on a set of global priorities. We also directly influence decision-makers at global and regional levels on these priorities as well as bringing in external political insights into the organisation to increase our collective effectiveness.

About the Role:

As GPAC’s Planning and Performance Lead you will help us understand how the department is contributing towards WaterAid’s global strategy and maximise our global impact. The role will support GPAC’s work by leading the planning and performance assessment work, focussing on ensuring that the advocacy activity delivered across the department is aligned and working towards the same outcomes.

The role will work closely with the Directors in GPAC’s SMT and with members of the International Programmes Department (IPD) SMT to ensure that both departments’ plans are aligned. It will also engage with key Federation members involved in global policy, advocacy and campaigns work, with the WaterAid International Secretariat, and with the Global and UK performance, strategy and planning teams.

In this role, you will lead the design of the planning process for the department to deliver annual plans, ensuring alignment with similar processes in key Federation members and other departments, as well as being integrated with the wider organisation’s planning cycles.

You’ll also: 

• Project manage the implementation of the planning process, working in close coordination with GPAC SMT directors as well as and as relevant with other WaterAid, Member and WaterAid International directors.
• Lead the process to deliver an M&E framework for GPAC (including new metrics as relevant), that balances the effort required with the need to drive data informed decisions and actions.
• Run the quarterly and annual reporting cycle, working with senior leaders in GPAC to deliver high quality data, run learning sessions to reflect on the data to enable data driven and effective decision making.
• Manage the regular collation of data across the department and shared to the wider organisation, including to the Executive and Board reporting processes
• Represent GPAC in wider WaterAid UK and global groups around performance and planning.
• Support GPAC to partner closely with IPD to track Country Programme support requests, and use insights to inform strategic planning of the department.
• Be the internal communications lead for the department on matters related to planning and performance, working with the central internal communications function as appropriate.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Experience of leading performance and planning cycles within complex organisations.
• Background in M&E within NGO or comparable contexts. Understands the complexity around assessing performance.
• Excellent project management skills to optimise the use of resources; manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities using insightful interpretation and resourceful solutions.
• Ability to think strategically across complex and fast-moving environments; able to concentrate on the big picture and respond to trends and shifts in the wider world.
• Collaborative: able to work with teams from a variety of backgrounds and build credibility and trust with key stakeholders.
• Able to facilitate group discussions to develop and drive forward strategic plans and work.
• Organised, efficient, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Comfortable with working with incomplete data and high levels of ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Background in Policy or Advocacy or knowledge of global advocacy M&E.
