About the role

This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.

Main duties

• To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
• To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
• To assess any risk to clients, the environment and staff, record and communicate any risks identified using appropriate channels in the Passage.
• To ensure accurate and timely record keeping using the Inform database as well as client files and ensure all record keeping and information sharing is kept securely in line with Data protection.
• Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
• To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.

Key responsibilities

• In conjunction with your Housing Needs Service Coordinator to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.

The school opened its doors in January 2023 for autistic children, originally in temporary accommodation.  Children and staff have just moved into a permanent purpose-built school . The Hawthorns House, where the residential provision will be offered, is situated in a brand-new purpose-built house with 10 bedrooms next to the site of the school. The build is due to be completed in Summer 2025.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become part of and contribute to a new residential staff team. We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and committed Residential Team Members. These positions involve working with autistic children aged 7-16 years.  The residential provision will cater for 10 pupils, with a gradual transition to its full capacity as the residential team develops.

The vision for the residential provision is to provide pupils with further opportunities to grow, learn, achieve and aspire to become participants in our local community. Our mission is to achieve this through secure relationships with residential staff in an environment providing outstanding care, to build the basis for a fulfilling life for children with autism.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Support Coordinator to join our team in Milton Keynes, supporting families and carers of individuals with SEND and learning disabilities. This role involves providing practical, emotional, and informational support in individual and group settings fostering a welcome environment for sharing experiences and resources. ​

Working alongside our partner – TalkBack, you will have proven experience in family support, community engagement or related fields.Working closely with families, schools and local agencies in Milton Keynes to provide essential support, programmes and resources that help parents/carers create a safe and nurturing home environment that fosters resilience and promotes family wellbeing.​

A key part of your responsibilities will involve establishing a peer support programme, by recruiting, training and support volunteers from the local community, to enhance our outreach and support initiatives.​

Educated to NVQ Level 3 or above in social work, health, education, or equivalent experience is essential.Experience of working with families with SEND and or learning disabilities is desirable.You will work flexibly and must be willing and able to travel easily around Milton Keynes area.​

Salary: £27,000 per annum. 

Location: Remote, (within Central Region of England).

Contract:  Permanent – 35 hours per week.

In this role of Relationship Fundraising Executive, you will support delivery of the Fundraising strategy in our communities to grow income and support for Action for Children. The role is remote working but would suit someone living in the Central Region of England.

How you'll help to create brighter futures 

• Supporting the delivery of a range of fundraising campaigns and activities across the Central Region of England that provide significant income and are in line with the relationship fundraising strategy. 
• Assisting with the stewardship of local volunteer fundraising groups, organisations, clubs, businesses in the local area to encourage further involvement in our work.
• Manage the administrative set up and support of ‘Action Squads’, i.e. volunteer led fundraising groups to help them successfully fundraise and raise awareness. 
• Working across and attending challenge events to assist the stewardship and support for sports participants, who sign up to run, walk, cycle and skydive for Action for Children across the UK. 
• Demonstrate accountability to our supporters and volunteers through an open, honest, transparent, and consistent approach.
• Supporting the delivery of set financial targets and non-financial targets and outcomes locally.
• Ensuring expected income has been received and banked within the predicted timeframes. 
• Collaborate with colleagues from within Fundraising and other departments to maximise on opportunities. 
• Manage daily processes efficiently and effectively to ensure onboarding of supporters in a timely manner. 

Let's talk about you  

• Professional Institute of Fundraising qualification (desirable) or Membership of IoF (desirable).
• Experience of delivering successful fundraising activity to achieve income growth. 
• Proven experience of networking and of developing and stewarding.
• Maintaining excellent personal relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders, donors, and volunteers. 
• Proficient in the use of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database 
• Managing challenging and demanding situations to ensure the delivery of all events and fundraising activities.
• Ability to project manage a team of volunteers to achieve against specific financial goals where appropriate. 
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite.
