Job Purpose

The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the day to day running of the business. They will support the delivery of projects whilst working with Project Managers. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful post holder will have effective organisational skills and be able to plan/prioritise the delivery of work. They will have strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to establish working relations with a range of stakeholders.

The role also requires some degree of client and stakeholder facing, requiring a high level of inter-personal skills and personal confidence. Having a respectful and empathetic attitude will be essential, with the capacity to manage highly sensitive, complex and confidential information.

Key Result Areas/Duties

1. To be the first point of contact for the business daily.

2. Use and populate / edit data on CRM (Customer Relationship Management).

3. Produce meeting minutes and notes that summarise meeting content, including key topics, group decisions and ideas utilising a range of tools and resources including AI.

4. Utilise project management software to record and monitor project planning and project tasks and to keep project deliverables on task and escalate when required.

5. Preparation or finalisation, monitoring, and maintenance of the following documents/reports: project brief, project plan, communication briefings, risk register.

6. Liaise with the team to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects.

7. Support the procurement team in the management of tenders from social media marketing and logging/updating application to compiling supplier performance monitoring and reporting.

8. To be able to manage telephone and personal contact from other staff members and external persons with intelligence, foresight, and sensitivity, strongly respecting the need for confidentiality.

9. Provide administrative support, including diary management and arranging meetings for staff and team.

10.  Be responsible for prioritising own workload efficiently, including maintenance of diary and management of overall team, responsiveness to emails, ensuring strict deadlines are met.

11.  To assist in organising, facilitating, and participating in events, workshops and focus groups.

12.  To ensure the business is open within the operating hours and at times will be required to open and close.

13.  To administer, co-ordinate and adhere to any new organisational policies and associated procedures and other documentation with confidentiality.

Person Specification

Essential

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and have GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A–C (or equivalent). They will be computer literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and will demonstrate accurate keyboard skills with strong attention to detail.

They will have experience working as part of a team as well as independently, and be confident in managing diaries and taking accurate minutes. They will be familiar with office systems and procedures, and possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy.

Candidates must have extensive experience using the internet and email systems, and have proven ability in organising meetings and disseminating information to stakeholders effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a professional and courteous telephone manner.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. They must be capable of working under pressure, solving problems, and responding to challenging situations with resilience and flexibility. A commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity is also essential.

The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy, deadline-driven environment is required. Candidates must be able to work from Compass Wellbeing’s office, with some flexibility for occasional remote working.

Desirable

It would be advantageous for candidates to have training or experience in project management methodologies and documentation. Practical experience of working in a busy office environment and familiarity with project management skills are also desirable.

Candidates with knowledge of the Data Protection Act will be well suited to the responsibilities of the role. Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and a willingness to travel outside of London for project needs are also beneficial for this position.

About the role

As a Finance Business Partner, you will have responsibility for the leading the annual budget setting process for the organisation – circa. £8m.

You'll report to to the CEO, Executive Team (ET), and with the Finance and Commercial Director (FCD) support the preparation of papers for the Board on the numbers, with narrative, detail and analysis where appropriate.

The role will not line manage but will be expected to coach, mentor, collaborate with and contribute to the development of the other members of the finance team - we are, all of us, internal customer facing.

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting budget holders to produce robust forecasts for the Management Accounts and to produce monthly Management Accounts with the Finance Manager.

As Educational Partnerships Manager, you’ll work across Dorset and South Coast of Hampshire, building partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organisations and community groups—particularly in areas where opportunities are hardest to come by.

The National Lottery Community Fund is seeking a Senior Government Relationship Manager to lead our relationships with governments across the UK as part of our newly restructured communications function. This role represents a significant opportunity in our new function as we implement our ambitious communications strategy that shifts from traditional grant-making support to demonstrating the powerful impact that communities have across the UK.

As a senior member of the External Affairs team and a key part of our wider communications team, you will lead our relationship with DCMS as our sponsor department and build a coherent approach to government relations across the UK that recognises the needs of all of the devolved administrations.  You will build connections with relevant government departments, acting as the key coordinator and source of knowledge and insight for all government-related activity at the Fund.

Your role as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on government relations and building our reputation will be critical to our success. Your political insight will help the Fund maintain its identity as a champion of community-led change while providing senior counsel on engaging with ministers and officials.

You will work in close collaboration with communications and funding colleagues to anticipate and mitigate risks in a structured way, handling sensitive issues when they arise. Your strong understanding of the political landscape and ability to build strong relationships will support the Fund’s wider strategic objectives.

We're looking for a government relations professional with significant experience who can build influential relationships across all levels of government and who can provide expert analysis of policy developments. The ideal candidate will bring a sophisticated understanding of the UK political landscape and the workings of government. You will be politically astute with experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and balancing diverse priorities. Your background might include policy development, stakeholder or government relations or public affairs in a government department, a public body or a large mission-driven organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a consistent approach to government relations across the UK, maintaining systems and processes for ensuring effective delivery
• Lead our sponsor relationship with DCMS and build relationships and connections with relevant departments, managing and co-ordinating responses to departmental requirements and identifying opportunities to demonstrate our value.
• Provide strategic horizon scanning and expert policy analysis, disseminating information and advice to senior leaders
• Coordinate the Fund's interactions with governments across the UK
• Develop engagement plans for ministers and senior officials
• Create high-quality briefing materials for senior leadership for meetings with government ministers and senior officials, attending meetings as appropriate
• Lead on policy positioning papers on key issues
• Support Communications colleagues to ensure country and regional government relations are aligned

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Fundraising team as our Statutory Fundraising Manager. This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our offices in Kings Cross, London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading statutory fundraising at Sense. This includes both new business work and managing relationships with existing supporters. • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to maximise income from statutory and lottery bodies such as NHS England, the Arts Council and National Lottery Community Fund. Statutory funding has been identified as a growth area at Sense Work with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, Directors of Operations and Finance teams, to develop and deliver compelling funding bids for statutory and public sector funders
• Manage relationships with statutory and public sector funders, including taking responsibility for narrative and financial reporting, and coordinating all stakeholder contact
• Specific responsibility for managing and reporting against statutory income and expenditure budgets
• Financial and programme reporting and database management
• Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, and any other regulatory frameworks that may be introduced

Key skills and experience

• A track record of securing income from a range of statutory sources, including six figure grants (essential) - success at the seven figure+ grant level (desirable)
• Experience of working with teams to develop proposals in line with organizational priorities, including developing robust project monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Experience of leading relationships with external funders, in particular government departments and lottery bodies
• Experience of compiling narrative and financial reports for statutory funders
• Experience of setting and managing budgets in line with organizational priorities.

The Society

The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) is the learned society and professional body for geography and geographers. The Role

As part of a small team, the Events and Exhibitions Manager will support the Head of Venue and New Business Development with sales, planning and delivery of events and exhibitions for external venue hire clients as well as support Society colleagues with internal event planning.

Event support includes use of the computerised room bookings system, ability to set-up and operate basic audio-visual and IT equipment, event support and post-event administration including customer invoicing.

The Events and Exhibitions Manager will also work with colleagues in an extended team, including Facilities Manager, Front of House and Audio-Visual staff, plus contracted cleaners and commissionaires in providing a first-rate service primarily for these third- party events.
