The role
We’re looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to support us in the delivery and development of high quality volunteering across our organisation. You will champion and support volunteering in Citizens Advice and influence the position and profile of volunteering across the service. You’ll work closely with the Head of Volunteering to support the delivery of the new volunteering strategy, ensuring that stakeholders from across the organisation are engaged in its development. You’ll provide operational volunteer management direction and support and maintain high standards in volunteering through the provision of guidance, tools, information and training.

You will manage the membership renewals and new applications process, so that applications are processed efficiently, membership information is up to date, and that membership fees are collected promptly and follow up on the debtors list. Also supporting membership recruitment so that a membership target list is maintained and regularly discussed with the team to identify who is the main contact and review next actions.

Aims of the post

Specific Responsibilities
Office management

• Managing phone and IT systems, contributing to new projects and upgrades.

Volunteer and Placement development
• Day to day supervision of customer services volunteers and placements.
• Recruit and plan for volunteers and placements, including contributing to individual learning plans and reviewing progress.
HR administration
• Investment in staff - To be an impartial point of contact for employees and volunteers seeking HR advice if their line manager is not able to assist, signposting them as appropriate to other sources of advice and assistance.
• Employment contracts and Consulting employees - To provide administrative support when consulting on Terms and Conditions, investigating Disciplinary and Grievances and any other related matters. To support the CEO to coordinate working groups across employees and volunteers. To administer staff surveys.
• DBS checks - To undertake renewal DBS checks for all employees and volunteers and make recommendations as necessary to managers.
• Managing information - To ensure good quality and accurate HR information management for all employees and volunteers with due regard to confidentiality and document control. To maintain electronic files and enable colleagues to make the best use of the HR database, Breathe HR. To facilitate references for former employees in partnership with managers and the CEO.
• Payroll - To collate information, draft and seek authorisation of payroll changes in partnership with the CEO and Director of Finance. To support the annual pay review.
• Recruitment - To coordinate recruitment processes in partnership with the recruiting manager. This includes liaising with the recruitment agency.
• Learning and Development - To coordinate training suppliers and place bookings for courses in consultation with the CEO. To contribute to coordinating the annual Staff and Volunteer conference.
Customer focused services
• Promote and support tenants/participants to access PBHA’s participation and co-production opportunities.
• Be supportive of PBHA’s ethos of maximising tenant/participant influence over the development of the organisation.
• To positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice. To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments. To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints.
General Responsibilities
• Participate in key meetings.
• Contribute to policy development, income generation, strategic and annual planning, corporate and cross-team activities, external partnerships and promotional activities as required.
• Promote, develop and support PBHA’s ethos, values and impact.
• Provide cover for other managers and workers.
All staff are expected to:

Main Conditions of Service
This is a part time position. The post is for 22.5 hours per week. It is expected that the hours will be delivered on 3 full days (to be agreed) each week but alternative arrangements, ie 4.5 hours per day for 5 days, may be acceptable. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.
Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus normal bank holidays pro rata. This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days – pro rata.
Salaries and expenses are based on PBHA’s salary scales and are revised each year. The salary for this post will be in the range of £35,692 pro rata per annum and the starting salary is £35,692 (£21,415 for 22.5 hours per week).
The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.
In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months). The notice period for this role is four weeks.

Customer Services and Administration Manager, a fantastic opportunity for a senior Customer Services, Supporter Services, Supporter Care, Membership professional to a National Health Charity, based in Central North London. Hybrid Working; 3 days office based and 2 days working from home.
The Customer Services and Administration team is a dedicated and specialist team who provide all supporters, volunteers, groups, members of the public and internal customers a high level of customer service and support when contacting the charity. The team also play an important role in taking and processing credit and debit card donations made via the telephone or online and respond to Gift Aid questions and queries.
As the Customer Services and Administration Manager, managing a team of Customer Service Officers, you will ensure that on a day-to-day basis the team functions efficiently, effectively and delivers excellent customer care service to all supporters, staff and members of the general public. You will ensure all staff within the team are managed and developed so they provide a high level of support to those using the team and the services provided.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of customer service ensuring the supporters, members and members of the public have a great experience when contacting the organisation.
- Organise a rota that ensures all the elements of the Customer Services function are comprehensively covered.
- Put processes and procedures in place to ensure agreed SLA’s and KPI’s are being met, in line with strategic goals.
- Continuously improve processes and the services provided and troubleshoot issues as soon as they arise.
- Responsible for any complaint escalation/investigation.
- Develop and manage the team, performance management and the performance development review.
- Ensure the team are processing direct debits in accordance with BACS rules and regulations.
- Deal with queries and questions raised about our direct debits processes.
- Ensure all income is tracked and all donations are banked and thank in a timely manner.
- Manage the analysis and evaluation of performance information, monitoring and reporting against objectives, outcomes, SLAs and KPIs.
- With the Data Governance team ensure data protection laws are adhered to, storage of data, review and update policies.
To be successful in the role of Customer Services and Administration Manager, you will have previous experience, skills and knowledge in the following areas;
- Experience of managing a team within a Customer Services, Supporter Services, Supporter Care, Membership department. Delivering a progressive programme of customer service delivery to internal and external customers.
- Experience of managing and responding to complaints and feedback
- Experience of processing Direct Debits payments or similar and ideally thanking of supporter donations via a database
- Experience of the BACS direct debit claiming process and following regulations
Salary: £36,309 - £42,085 per annum

Our partner, an international charity, seeks an interim finance manager to support the international finance team. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with experience in preparing consolidated annual accounts, management accounts, whilst being hands on and taking on transactional elements of the role.
Responsibilities
- Day to day accounting and administration, including posting transactions; payment of suppliers and staff expenses; international bank transfers to overseas country offices; setting up and processing regular giving payments, and processing one off donations; banking; and process monthly payroll.
- Undertake reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including BVA analysis and summaries, and income and expenditure reports for budget holders.
- Prepare the annual consolidated accounts and financial statements, and support in the preparation of the annual audit, liaising with the overseas country offices.
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with all-round experience working in a small team within an international charity. Experience of leading on the production of annual consolidated accounts as per charity SORP in the UK, management accounts & analysis, and managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks.
- Hands on, able to manage a varied workload.
- Strong business partnering skills, able to work with finance and non-finance staff in the UK and overseas offices, budget holders and liaise with third parties, including banks and auditors.
- Strong communication skills.

Our client, a prestigious London University, is currently seeking a temporary, full time (35 hours per week) Student Immigration Compliance & Advice Officer, running for 5 months in the first instance. The role offers a hybrid working model, with 1 day per week based on-site in Central London and the rest remote.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
