Homebased within UK with regular travel to MAG’s Manchester office and programme countries

Starting salary for this position is £76,535 per annum (plus contributory pension)

This is an exciting time to join MAG as we implement our new five-year strategy and strive to increase our impact and extend our influence through our lifesaving programmes .  In this newly created role, the Programme Delivery Director will be responsible for managing our team of Regional Directors to ensure the successful delivery of MAG’s high quality, high-impact programming across our global portfolio.

About the role:

You will work closely with our regional and country teams to ensure contract delivery in line with objectives, and overall compliance with donor and MAG requirements. Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will directly support on day-to-day incident management, as well as acting as a focal point ensuring coordinated, timely, and appropriate support to programmes from other departments. You will ensure effective management oversight on business planning objectives, and on occasion on the delivery of strategic projects. You will work closely with our Regional Directors to develop new programme activities, including supporting assessments, planning, and project mobilisation.

About you:

You will be a senior humanitarian professional with significant experience working in an NGO with a focus on international programme management and delivery across multiple country contexts. You will be experienced in the critical assessment, development, and implementation of management structures and systems designed to improve overall delivery of activities. You will be an excellent communicator, with significant experience coordinating programme delivery and support functions including human resource management, logistics and procurement, finance and compliance. You will be a strategic leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and influence to drive change. You will be ready to travel internationally, including to insecure and conflict-affected areas, and have a solid understanding of geopolitical dynamics and their security impact. Ultimately you will be proactive, tenacious, pragmatic, and committed to MAG’s mission, values, and approach.

Purpose: The Fundraising and Admin Officer is responsible for delivering key administrative and fundraising activities that support the achievement of Vision Action’s income generation targets. The postholder will take a lead role in researching and applying to smaller trusts and foundations, while contributing to the development of larger funding proposals as needed. They will also support the coordination of fundraising campaigns and events, maintain the prospect pipeline, and identify new fundraising opportunities. Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, this role contributes to the effective functioning of the fundraising team and plays an important part in fostering a collaborative, impact-driven organisational culture.

KEY AREAS:

- FUNDRAISING (80% of time)
Trusts & Foundations and Prospect Research

• Lead on the development and submission of applications to smaller trusts and foundations (up to £25,000), including drafting proposals, tracking deadlines, and updating the pipeline.
• Maintain and update the pipeline of prospective donors across income streams (trusts, corporates, government, and institutions).
• Conduct desk research into comparable organisations, donor trends, and partnership opportunities.

Appeals & Campaigns

• Support the coordination of Vision Action’s seasonal and thematic fundraising appeals (e.g. World Sight Day, Christmas, Summer).
• Lead on the planning and delivery of smaller appeals, including supporter follow-up, donor profiling, and managing campaign logistics.
• Log donor information and engagement history accurately in Donorfy CRM.
• Support the development of appeal-related materials in collaboration with the Fundraising Manager and Communications Officer.

Events & Community Fundraising

• Support the planning, recruitment, and delivery of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and other sporting and challenge events.
• Provide guidance and logistical support to individuals, volunteers, schools, and community groups running their own fundraising events.
• Represent Vision Action at relevant fundraising and community events, acting as an ambassador for the organisation.

Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management

• Support the stewardship and cultivation of individual donors, sponsors, and prospects through phone, email, and written communication.
• Assist in developing supporter journeys for regular givers and community fundraisers.
• Process thank you letters and acknowledgements using Donorfy.
• Manage day-to-day donor enquiries via the fundraising inbox and phone line, ensuring timely and professional responses.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising data using Donorfy CRM.
• Produce donor and campaign performance reports as required.
• Support with administrative tasks related to fundraising compliance, filing, and data security.

- COMMUNICATION SUPPORT (20% of time)
Digital Media Marketing and Engagement

• Support efforts to grow Vision Action’s digital presence by creating engaging content for social media platforms, ensuring consistent and compelling storytelling aligned with our mission.
• Support membership relationship stewardship by developing regular updates, thank-you messages, and creative engagement campaigns to nurture and retain supporters.
• Assist in the design and production of quarterly progress reports, collaborating with colleagues across Vision Action to curate stories, impact data, and visuals that resonate with donors and partners.
• Update and maintain website content to ensure it remains current, accurate, and reflective of organisational priorities, campaigns, and news.

• Support cross-departmental initiatives by contributing communications materials and ensuring alignment of messaging across teams.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

This is a varied and forward-facing role within a small and busy team. • At least 3 years of experience in a fundraising, administration, or supporter-facing role

The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key senior member of the finance team and will help shape the strategic management and direction of the team. The MEL Advisor will be responsible for providing technical advice in applying gender-sensitive and complexity-aware MEL approaches to develop CR’s peace practice, and in supporting organisation-wide Outcome Harvesting. The role would be well-suited to a versatile and creative thinker with a curiosity to adapt standard MEL approaches for the challenges associated with peacebuilding and mediation.

We want MEL to be useful for staff and partners. The MEL Adviser will draw lessons from evidence of achievements and challenges in our work to inform programme adaptation and support organisational strategy. Occasionally they may represent our experience and approach to external audiences.

As the post is a global role, the post-holder will be expected to provide remote and face-to-face technical support to Programme teams, MEL Focal Points and partners in different geographies, and to the RAP team in the development and implementation of their MEL plans. 

The MEL Adviser supports the Head of MEL in the delivery of Operational Goal 5 in Conciliation Resources’ Strategic Plan 2020-2025 and will continue to do so under the forthcoming Strategic Plan 2026-2030 and MEL strategy. The MEL Adviser will help to develop and maintain the systems, skills and approach required to deliver on this, and to embed these in organisational practice. 

Scope and Accountability 

The MEL Adviser is directly accountable to, and line-managed by, the Head of MEL and is a member of the RAP Department. 

They are accountable for maintaining systems to record and analyse data and for organising processes to capture and analyse change. 

They ensure the smooth running of organisation-wide evaluation processes, including CR’s Outcome Harvesting process, and evidence informed strategic donor reporting. 

They are responsible for providing specialist, technical advice and support to teams and partners on the design, development and implementation of their project MEL plans. 

They have a comprehensive understanding of our Strategic Plan, organisational results framework and Theory of Change, and of the nature of peacebuilding work and change. 

Person specification 

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

• Knowledge and considerable experience applying a range of complexity-aware design, monitoring, evaluation and learning concepts, tools, and approaches.
• Understanding of and experience in supporting adaptive programming, including approaches for how to monitor and evaluate adaptations. Experience of Outcome Harvesting or other participatory monitoring approaches an advantage.
• Experience designing Theories of Change for complexity-aware programmes, including monitoring frameworks and the critical analysis of data to inform adaptations. Experience of designing Theories of Change for social cohesion, mediation and/or peacebuilding programmes is an advantage.
• Ability to collect, manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data in a manner that is sensitive to conflict-affected contexts.
• Knowledge of organisational practices such as partnership working, value for money and organisational learning.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to participatory, gender-responsive and conflict-sensitive approaches.
• Appreciation of issues of confidentiality, cross cultural working, and political sensitivity.
• Experience of working with databases, handling diverse sources of information, and maintaining accessible and secure filing systems.
• Experience of group facilitation and training support on monitoring, evaluation and learning issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to listen actively to and work with and support people from varying backgrounds and with a range of political, cultural, and value orientations.
• Experience of working across an organisation to influence others. 

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience 

• Experience designing and facilitating online and hybrid workshops, including using tools such as Mentimeter, Miro and/or Lucid.
• Data visualisation software such as Zoho Analytics and Microsoft PowerBI.
• Experience in the peacebuilding sector or fragile contexts.
• Experience using MEL data for advancing research, communication and advocacy purposes.
• Other language skills, in particular French or Russian.

As Senior National Public Affairs Manager, you’ll take the lead in building relationships with key stakeholders in the UK Parliament and Government. This is a high-impact role, designed to influence national policy and improve support for people living with terminal illness.

You’ll shape and deliver external engagement strategies, work on national campaigns, and ensure that Marie Curie’s research and insight are central to conversations about end-of-life care. You’ll also contribute to our internal policy development and play a key role in shaping how our work is communicated publicly.

The post holder will be part of the Policy and Public Affairs, England team and will also work closely with colleagues in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and with colleagues across the charity. This is a maternity cover post and a fantastic opportunity to drive change from the heart of the UK policy landscape

Main Responsibilities: 

• Lead engagement with national policymakers and parliamentary stakeholders.
• Design and deliver impactful events, campaigns and policy initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider charity, devolved nations and our sector partners charity to align public affairs strategies.
• Work with Marie Curie-funded researchers to ensure evidence drives policy influence.
• Represent the charity at external meetings, briefings and events.
• Line-manage officer-level team members, ensuring high performance and development.
• Champion end-of-life care issues through social media and public communications.

Key Criteria:

• Strong experience in lobbying or public affairs, with a proven record of policy influence.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to varied audiences.
• Deep understanding of the UK Parliament and Government structures.
• Experience of developing and maintaining senior-level relationships.
• Political judgement, campaign experience, and the ability to manage complex projects.
• Knowledge of health, palliative care or social justice issues in the UK.
• Ability to analyse complex data and translate it into impactful messaging.
• Prior experience in healthcare or palliative care policy and advocacy is considered an asset.
