Job Summary

WCCM seeks to appoint an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Grant and Major Donor Fundraising Manager to lead fundraising and grant management across a global organisation dedicated to the teaching of Christian Meditation.

Working to the Executive Director, you will interact with our decentralised finance, marketing and communications staff and volunteers.

Overall purpose

 As the Finance Officer, you will be required to ensure that our income and expenditure records are accurate, complete, free from error and comply with both the relevant accounting standards as well as donor restrictions. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the recording of financial information is compliant and auditable, in both the finance system and CRM.

You will also work alongside the Head of Finance to support the wider organisation in its financial understanding and management. This support will focus on both the fundraising team to empower them to raise as many funds as possible, especially unrestricted funds, and the services team to ensure their financial processes are robust and efficient. You will also be expected to contribute to and uphold our outstanding culture by living and demonstrating our values of being mission-led, welcoming, entrepreneurial and collaborative.

Key responsibilities

Finance responsibilities

• Record all income and expenditure general ledger transactions in the finance system, ensuring correct coding and full supporting documentation is stored in either the finance system or in the CRM.
• Have ownership of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately with the correct VAT treatment while adhering to the relevant controls.
• Ensure all staff and client expenses are captured and recorded accurately, adhere to the relevant expense policy and are paid in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post payment runs alongside the Head of Finance
• Support the Financial Accountant in the monthly bank reconciliation
• Participate in month end processes to ensure the I&E figure is accurate within the pre-determined deadline, including posting prepayments, deferrals and accruals where relevant and other accounting adjustments as needed such as grossing up of platform fees.
• Ensure all finance documentation is complete and auditable including restricted fund evidence, and ensure the relevant GAUs are tracked on salesforce.
• Capture all restricted fund income and expenditure is the finance system on a monthly basis (staff and non-staff) alongside the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance
• Understand clawback risk on grants
• Ensure Breaking Barriers is claiming gift aid where applicable and optimising opportunities to reclaim input VAT in our business/non-business VAT return
• Reconciling to third party platforms on a monthly basis including fundraising platforms and Equals
• Work with the Head of Finance to upskill the fundraising and service teams to ensure they understand necessary financial processes
• Undertake income and expenditure control activities e.g. checking for grant rejection letters and verifying changes to supplier details.
• Be the finance team’s superuser for the CRM
• Support in year-end audit and the creation of relevant notes
• Support with ad hoc projects such as the implementation of a new finance system and policy and procedure updates

Technology

• Support the Financial Accountant, Finance Director and outsourced technology provider as needed for ongoing technology support and occasional projects.

Office and facilities management

• Support the financial team and any applicable offices as needed for ongoing office and facility management

provider, third party suppliers, cleaning. Ensuring legal, regulatory, and
contractual compliance for each contract whilst achieving value for
money.
 Provide operational management of our working spaces, including our
buildings, facilities and also our big purples buses within the community, ensuring the public, colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and
experience a warm and welcoming environment.
 Lead on the coordination of charity vehicles maintenance and insurance,
working with the Head of Cancer Services, Transport Coordinator and
Service Development and Engagement Manager for the Outreach Team.
 Review, Develop and Produce operational policies and procedures to
ensure the smooth running of the organisation (e.g. Lone Working).
 Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO) and lead on data collection
and storage in line with current GDPR and Data Protection Regulations.
 Lead with producing monthly and quarterly Operations Reports, and
producing any further reports requires for assurance purposes for the
Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
Health & Safety
 Lead on Health & Safety and risk management, and the annual H&S audit
with the support of our external advisor, ensuring risk assessments are
undertaken and the charity fulfils its legal duties in relation to our
buildings, services, fundraising activity and home-based working.
 Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained on H&S and there is
appropriate coverage of Fire Marshalls, First Aiders, MHFA etc. on site, in
outreach services and for our charity events, as appropriate.
 Lead on our contingency planning and maintaining our business
continuity plan.
Tech Support
 Lead on cyber security training and improvements.
 Lead on IT equipment and access for staff, including the onboarding and
off boarding process and management of access to shared folders and
platforms.
Workwear and equipment
 Manage stock control and ordering of office and facilities supplies.
Support & Development
 Manage the Operations Assistant and support their development.
 Lead the Operational Working Group to ensure operational matters are
progressed in a timely and efficient manager, reporting progress to the
Leadership Team.
 Lead with the co-ordination of the annual renewals training for H&S, Fire
Marshalls and MHFA, support HR with the induction training of new staff.

We're looking for a Social Impact Project Manager to join our team who can provide essential support across all stages of our insight projects, from account management to projet reviews. 

The role would be well-suited to those from the charity sector who are looking to move into the social impact space and work more closely with a range of businesses, from high-street banks to energy providers.

The Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA) is the democratic voice for student across the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), representing learners at every level of study—from further education and apprenticeships through to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to provide strategic support to the student officers within our student-led organisation, and to provide support and leadership to the senior leadership team and our Board of Trustees.

The post-holder is required to provide an interface between the Trustee Board and the leadership team, and between other key decision-making bodies within the Students’ Association, converting policy and strategy into action.

Our CEO will be a source of continuity within the Students’ Association, providing vision and expertise to drive the Association forward towards organisational goals whilst ensuring that the Association is structured to facilitate Student Officers’ work towards organisational objectives.
As a key contact and partner with UHI stakeholders, the CEO is required to work towards aligning the Students’ Associations' progression into the UHI’s strategy. The CEO should also ensure that all aspects of organisational risk are identified, monitored and managed.

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Customer Research Analyst to join our Customer Insight Team in a newly created role.

As a Customer Research Analyst, you’ll help us understand our supporters, donors and stakeholders even better. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you’ll deliver research that brings our customers’ needs to life, supports informed decisions and drives meaningful engagement.

In this role, you’ll design and deliver both quantitative and qualitative research, providing clear and actionable insights that help shape strategy. Alongside the Customer Research Manager, you’ll help champion the use of insight in everything we do, identifying opportunities for market intelligence and consumer research along the way.

You’ll take part in pre- and post-campaign evaluations, design and run customer surveys, interpret data and share findings that inspire action. You’ll also collaborate with external research agencies, when needed, and help develop and promote our Insights Library so knowledge is shared and accessible to everyone.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Customer Research Analyst who’s curious, analytical and eager to make a real impact through insight. You’ll have a keen interest in both quantitative and qualitative research, from shaping research design and methodology to turning data into meaningful stories that drive action. You’ll already have some experience working in a market or customer research environment.

You’ll bring a strong desire to grow your market research skills and the confidence to communicate findings in a clear, engaging way, whether that’s presenting to a room full of colleagues or sharing insights one to one.

You’ll enjoy building positive, collaborative relationships across teams and have a proactive, results-driven approach that keeps our audiences’ needs front and centre. Above all, you’ll be motivated by the idea of using data to drive change and make a real difference to men and their families affected by prostate cancer.
