World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that they face when preparing for and ultimately finding work in the UK.
We support all people who have experienced forced migration, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and access the opportunities they need to secure sustainable and meaningful employment. We run STEP online and in person programmes across the UK.
We are now expanding our work to deliver (in partnership with the British Council) an English Language and Employment Support Programme for up to 4,000 Ukrainians and Hong Kong BNO status/visa holder (50% of each community) over the next 12 months.
We are recruiting Cantonese speaking Employment Advisors to join the STEP team delivering this new programme. You will provide high quality advice and guidance through 1:1 employability support and group employability workshops with the aim of coaching individuals and supporting them on their journey into employment that suits their previous experience and skill set.
You will prepare participants for employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will monitor and encourage participants’ engagement and attendance in all aspects of the programme. You will provide an exemplary level of support to STEP participants working towards a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of participants including successful delivery of workshops, completion of training courses, volunteering, and achieving and sustaining paid employment.
The Employment Advisors will work remotely and can be based anywhere in the UK.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience or knowledge within the employment sector
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people who have experienced forced displacement accessing employment.
- Knowledge of adult learning/vocational training
- Experience of delivering 1:1 advice and guidance and coaching
- Experience of reviewing and supervising a case load of participants
- Awareness of Safeguarding people at risk and maintaining professional boundaries
- Experience facilitating group workshops
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Cross-cultural sensitivity
- Good admin and IT skills (CRM database, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Advanced level of English
- Competency in Cantonese
Candidates must be UK based and have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract

About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Media and Communications Officer to join the Policy and Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong media relations that drive positive media coverage, enhance brand awareness, attract new supporters, and uphold the charity’s reputation across all media platforms.
Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you will contribute to the development and delivery of impactful communications campaigns that effectively tell the story of our work, highlight our impact, and strengthen our brand.
We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearest office hub.
About you
You will bring experience in managing media and communications projects designed to generate positive coverage, applying creative PR techniques across trade, local, and national media outlets.
You will have experience in developing and implementing communications campaigns that leverage media, digital channels, and events to raise awareness and engage support for a charity.
Skilled at building relationships across a wide range of people including journalists, commentators and bloggers. You will effectively manage reputational crisis communications and confidently support spokespeople and senior leaders in responding to challenging or negative media coverage.
You will have proven experience in translating complex issues for diverse audiences using plain language and accessible formats.
You’ll be instrumental in providing communications support to teams across Sustrans including developing inspirational stories to showcase our work, creating content for publications and newsletters, preparing spokespeople with well-researched media briefings, pitching press releases and responding to media enquiries.

This role will play a key part in supporting MMHA’s successful campaigning, including supporting our maternal mental health councils project, and helping drive change so that women, birthing people, babies and families affected by maternal mental health problems can access the right care, at the right time, without discrimination.
Job purpose
Support planning, implementation, and evaluation of MMHA campaign and policy work to improve perinatal mental health care systems, policy and practice in the UK.
Main responsibilities
- Support policy activities relating to MMHA’s Maternal Mental Health Councils project.
- Assist with the production of campaign resources, including desk research, drafting copy, and proof reading.
- Read and summarise policy information, such as reports and carry out data analysis, to support MMHA’s evidence base.
- Lead political monitoring, keeping abreast of tracking relevant policy and political developments to identify opportunities and risks for MMHA’s campaigns and policy priorities.
- Support MMHA’s campaigning across the devolved nations, working with local stakeholders in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to inform, amplify and facilitate campaign activities.
- Hold knowledge of parliamentary procedure and systems to ensure strategic and targeted influencing work, supporting relationships with parliamentarians, including providing clear communications.
- Ensure MMHA’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion runs throughout MMHA’s campaigning and policy work.
- Maintain relationships with range of stakeholders to support MMHA’s campaigning and influencing, including MMHA members, parliamentarians, champions and academics.
- Support campaigning communications activities, including media and social media support, website editing and writing copy for articles or newsletters.
- Keep a library of policy resources and an up-to-date bank of statistics and evidence to support internal and external use.
- Assist the Head of Campaigns and Policy and wider team with administrative and other tasks, including the organisation and facilitation of meetings and events and responding to routine enquiries.
- Help support MMHA projects as required.
- Work with the team on campaign evaluation.
- Maintain a diary of key campaign dates and events.
- Represent the MMHA at events as required.

Permanent, full time (35 hours a week)
Location: This role requires attendance in Scopes Leeds office ( LS10 1JF) with the remaining days worked remotely.
The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm Saturdays.
There are two positions available.
The role
We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to prioritise their own workload whilst advising Scope’s helpline customers. To provide support to helpline customers, supporters and donors and Scope enquiry customers.
In this role, you will:
· Provide consistent high-quality responses to enquiries received at Scope’s Helpline via telephone, email, live chat, our online community, and social networking channels, within set turnaround times.
· Ensure that customers feel valued and are provided with information that is tailored to meet individual need, is accurate, up to date and accessible to them.
· Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and empathetic manner.
· Continually update your knowledge around disability issues and to share learning across the team, to offer an expert service to Scope’s customers.
· Identify the correct person/department and efficiently transfer calls internally when customers ring with general enquiries.
· Ensure that details of all enquiries are logged accurately on the customer database in a timely manner and that quality data and information is maintained.
· Work within Scope’s policies relating to customer confidentiality and data protection.
· Follow Scope’s policy and process around safeguarding and to make decisions regarding relevant customers as appropriate.
· Promote Scope and its values around equality, inclusion and the social model of disability and to present a positive image of the organisation in all aspects of work.
· Contribute to team meetings and discussions and to proactively contribute to the continued improvement of the service.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
