Beacon is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to work as part of a small team to deliver our SHINE offer to young people. SHINE offers early intervention support to all 11-17 year old’s in Stockport to provide information, advice or guidance regarding their emotional wellbeing. It includes: 2 weekly wellbeing groups, a weekly arts group (delivered by Beacon’s partner), signposting and advice. SHINE develops skills to support emotional wellbeing, build resilience and confidence with weekly themes over 12 weeks.
You will be the main point of contact for young people and their families, providing information, advice, guidance and support to access services. You will work with colleagues and the young people to devise and cofacilitate group sessions which are fun, engaging and support young people to develop skills and improve wellbeing. You will liaise with our partner delivery organisation, and support the future development of the service. You will responsible for completing all administrative duties in relation to the service, including the collection of monitoring and feedback data.
The role is for 17.5 hours per week. The hours are to be agreed, but must include Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4pm to 7pm. The salary for this role is £26,481 per annum pro rata.

Job Title: Senior Supervising Social Worker (Specialist Step Forward from Residential Hub)
Salary: £37,088 per annum (increasing to £41,208 after 18 months) + £750 per annum Homeworking Allowance + £1,500 per annum Out of Hours Allowance (once participating on the rota)
Hours & Contract: 35 Hours per week - permanent
Location: Home-based – Greater Manchester. Applicants should be able to travel across Greater Manchester for home visits to support carers and children. Travel also requires the post holder to attend staff meetings in Liverpool.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervising Social Worker to support our first hub of foster carers dedicated to caring for children stepping forward from residential care. You will supervise and support a hub of foster carers and a small number of specialist ‘Step Forward’ foster carers. In partnership with Local Authorities, you will contribute to matching identified children, undertaking pre-placement assessments, preparation and introductions. You will also play a key role in building relationships with new carers prior to approval. You will be part of our Ofsted Outstanding-rated North West team, with access to support from our Education Service and psychological services. Your practice will be rooted in PACE and DDP approaches.
The Senior Supervising Social Worker will be an essential presence in our recruitment and retention of carers events and must be willing to travel regularly as part of their duties.

Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:
- Provide regular guidance, training and support including regular in person supervisory visits and other communications to Foster Carers
- Work collaboratively as part of the team around the child to ensure that the children’s needs are fully assessed, they are carefully matched and well supported in their transition to a foster family
- To maintain a mutually supportive hub community of Step Forward foster carers
- Build strong relationships with prospective foster carers by undertaking some fostering assessments and supporting them in their preparation for fostering.
- Where capacity allows, undertake Form F assessments
- Ensuring children are visited regularly and are included in TACT activities
- Monitoring outcomes for children and supporting them to reach their full potential
- Identifying the professional and personal needs of foster families to facilitate development and retention

We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual to join our dedicated Puppy Training Team as a Puppy Trainer. This is an exciting opportunity at a prominent assistance dog charity for a dog training instructor to develop their skills and take on new responsibilities within this rewarding field.
Position: Puppy Training Coordinator
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week).
Contract: Temporary Maternity Leave Cover (9 month minimum contract)
Location: Homebased in South Hampshire. This role covers a specified geographical location in the Southeast of England - South Hampshire (purple area on the map attached). There will be regular travel involved in this role to undertake visits, training sessions and to transport dogs and puppies, therefore it is essential that you have a driving licence and appropriate vehicle for work purposes or the ability to travel significant mileage in line with the requirements for the role. Direct Reports: Puppy Training Volunteers
You will be part of the ambitious puppy team, developing, coordinating, and supporting the puppy training programme. You will have the opportunity to work with and train volunteers in the appropriate care and training of Canine Partners’ puppies. You will work with puppies from eight-weeks to approximately 15-months old, ensuring they receive appropriate socialisation and training before entering our assistance dog training, giving them the foundations to learn how to be life-changing assistance dogs, bringing greater independence and quality of life to people with physical disabilities. A proactive approach is key to maintaining the welfare and behavioural standards for the puppies. All training at Canine Partners follows best practice, positive reinforcement methods and this role is an ambassador for this approach.
About you:
- Experience of working with puppies.
- Good working knowledge of best practice dog training and behaviour.
- Good practical dog handling and training skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
- Strong administration skills with accurate record keeping.
- Coaching/ Teaching skills.
- Computer literacy/ IT skills (MS Office – minimum requirement basic level)
- Full UK driving licence and use of appropriate vehicle for work purposes.
- Ideally, you may have experience of working with volunteers.
It may be advantageous, but not essential, for you to have a relevant Animal Behaviour and Training Council – Animal Training Instructor (ABTC-ATI) accreditation. Most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative impact that our assistance dogs provide to our beneficiaries.
