World Horse Welfare are seeking an experienced IT professional to join the charity. The aim of this role is to encompass the organisation’s Helpdesk (1st through 3rd line support) and IT Technician responsibilities to include day to day support, issue resolution, repairs, maintenance and improvements as well as project support. This role is based at our head office in Snetterton, Norfolk and will support all our sites across the UK as well as end users abroad. Occasional travel to our four UK sites will be required.
We are looking for someone with experience in Windows Operating Systems (Pro/Enterprise & Server), Android OS, M365 administration (including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange Online), Windows Server (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Print) and Networking (including routers, switches, cabling, APs).
The successful candidate will have great people & communication skills and be able to communicate concepts and instructions clearly to people with non-technical backgrounds.

The Advice Services Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of welfare and housing advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have experience of delivering front-line benefits and/or housing advice, strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that casework and projects are delivered on time.
In 2025, BIAS is expanding its successful Brent-based welfare and housing advice service into Haringey borough. The Advice Services Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.
This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES
Staff management
- Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
- Providing support, supervision and training to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
- Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff and partner organisations.
- Creating a positive working environment in which equity and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.
Quality and service delivery
- Leading the welfare advice services in both Brent and Haringey boroughs, and contributing to further expansion.
- Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one to two days’ work per week).
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS complies with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.
- Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.
Operational support
- Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.
These are the basic duties required of the Advice Services Manager. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice offices in Willesden and Haringey[1] but there may be some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).
ABOUT BIAS
BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-Friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

The role
This is an exciting role, to liaise and support partner organisations to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and up to date, coded correctly on UH’s cashbooks and reconciled against bank statements. You will also provide technical support to partners’ finance staff and train them on the use of the cashbooks and financial reporting to UH.
You will be educated to degree level and have basic speaking knowledge of the French language. You will have experience in a fast-paced and complex finance role. You should have experience of working with technical accounting packages as well as experience in financial planning and monitoring.
The role is fast-paced and complex, and the ideal candidate will need to have proven inter-personal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to assess priorities, organise workloads and initiate action and problem solve.

Read for Good’s Grants and Trusts Manager leads on securing high-value income for the national charity from trusts and foundations, typically securing one-off and multi-year grants in the five- to six-figure range. Key responsibilities
Income Generation and Fundraising
- Research and develop a strong pipeline of new and existing high-value trusts and grant-making prospects (typically five- and six-figure applications).

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to build on our programme of strategic engagement with our key audiences, in order to build our presence, influence and networks in a wide range of UK sectors and topical issues. This includes leading the design and delivery of some of our focused programmes in which we award Fellowships and supporting the Fellows awarded into these programmes to help them increase their UK impact once they’ve done their overseas learning. This role is responsible for delivering all engagement activity across our Arts and culture, Community and citizenship, Environment and resources and Governance and public provision universal themes.
Key responsibilities:
Programme Development and Delivery
- With oversight from the Engagement Director, and working with members of the Advisory Council to develop the focus and goals of a three-year Fellowship programme within our Governance and Public Provision universal theme through a process of desk-based research and consultation workshops
- Working with the Head of Comms to design and plan the launch of the new programme to applicants
- Working with the Head of Fellowship to design a support package for applicants into the programme
- With oversight from the Engagement Director, creating and facilitating a Working Group of Fellows, partners and Council members to support the cohort of Fellows awarded within this programme. And working with the other Research and Engagement Manager to develop and enhance our approach to stewarding these Working Groups including ones already in place for our other programmes.
- Supporting the Engagement Director in the recruitment and stewardship of Knowledge Partners for this programme and other programmes under your four thematic sectors
- Working with members of our Advisory Council to review our two environment related programmes with a view to revising them or developing them further.
- Reviewing the progress of each programme under your remit with the relevant Advisory Council members and the Working Group at the end of the applications cycle and before the programme reopens for applications
Sector Relations & Networking
- Researching target audiences, stakeholders, partners and allies, in the four thematic sectors you oversee. Building relationships and maintaining our database of these.
- Developing and managing a systematic programme of engagement with these audiences, through communications and activities including talks, briefings, events, newsletters, publications and other opportunities.
- Systematic promotion of Fellows into these sectors.
Creation of Engagement Content
- Designing and delivering a programme of engagement events for Fellows including webinars and convenings to provide support, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for the community of Fellows
- Leading on the design and delivery of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Rural communities programme
- Leading on the discovery and development phase of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Arts and Communities and Children and Young People with experience of care programmes.
- Assisting with the creation of sector content to support the dissemination of Fellows’ learning into their sectors
- Writing engagement materials such as case studies for a wide range of sectors and issues.
- Filtering Fellows’ surveys for case studies and other material.
Post-learning support for the community of Fellows
- Working with partners to deliver training and upskilling support to Fellows to help them increase their UK impact
- Supporting Fellows to distil their learning into ‘reports’ which can be used to disseminate their learning and recommendations
- Ad hoc support to individual Fellows to help them connect with their sectors and each other, and promote their learning and recommendations
- Working with the Engagement team to rethink and pilot new approaches to post overseas learning support for Fellows including grants, events, training, community platforms and more
- Supporting the Engagement Director with the biennial Awards Ceremony for Fellows
And to undertake any additional appropriate duties as may reasonably be required on either a short or long term basis.

Working for The Churchill Fellowship
- Salary c. £43,000-46,000 per annum (5 days per week / 36.5 hours)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Scope: Routine financial oversight including aspects of management and statutory accounting, budgeting, treasury, payroll and audit.
Role Description: The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing accurate financial records and controls for Waverley Abbey Trust and subsidiary operations, managing a team of three, taking care of day-to-day banking, VAT returns, gift aid, insurance, etc..
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, including day to day banking transactions, current and deposit accounts, reconciliations and authorisation of all payments, payroll, and other transactions.

Ability to interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed.
•
Assist the Finance Director (FD) in organisation-wide budgetary planning.
•
Monitor cash flow, bank accounts and financial transactions.
•
Efficient and rigorous financial administration including but not limited to VAT returns, gift aid, legacies, payroll, the workplace pensions scheme, and staff credit card management.
•
Maintain the fixed assets register and monthly depreciation of assets
•
Supervision and development of the Finance team to improve efficiency and working practices
•
Provide timely, accessible and useful financial reports for senior managers and other operational team members and proactively develop the quality and usefulness of financial reporting and communications to improve business performance.
•
All external and internal obligations, accounts, budgets and forecasts are prepared and reported in a prompt, accurate and timely manner.

Work with the FD and external accountants /auditors to manage the preparation and audit of end-of-year statutory accounts.

Alongside the FD, ensure all organisational financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation and evolve and ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures.

Collaborate in the design and implementation of financial systems and process improvements.

Stay up to date with any relevant changes to charity legal and financial responsibilities, for example charity commission and HMRC reporting requirements.
Key Requirements & Skills
•
Preferable- Degree level qualification or ATT (or comparable) in accounting, finance management or similar.
•
At least 10 years’ experience in finance management and accounting.

Senior Management experience.
•
Ideally, not essentially, having some experience of the Charity and Higher Education sectors
•
High levels of familiarity and comfort with Sage 200, Microsoft office packages and computer-based accountancy packages.

Experience of payroll admin including workplace pensions and leave provisions (i.e. Maternity leave etc).

Confident and clear communicator in both written and verbal forms of communication

Highly organised with superior attention to detail, especially in planning , report writing and budgeting.
