To be successful as the Philanthropy Manager you will have proven experience in building and securing relationships with individuals capable of giving gifts of a four, five or six figure level. This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices 1-2 days per week. The salary for this role is £45,000.

We are looking for an Advice Service Manager to join our passionate and hardworking team. The successful candidate must have an in depth understanding of refugee and asylum seeker support needs. Key elements of the role include:
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Management Team:
- As part of the Management Team to oversee the function of the organisation and its strategic development, especially in relation to SRS’s advice service
Service Development
- Be responsible for developing the advice service according to organisational needs and strategy
Team Management:
- To line manage and develop a team of Advice Workers and Reception/Admin Officer, to ensure they are suitably trained and supported to deliver a high-quality advice service across the county
- To line manage the Employment and Training Coordinator to ensure the employment and training team delivers an effective and cohesive service, which complements the work of the advice team
Management of Advice Service and Direct Service Provision:
- To ensure that the advice service promotes equality of access to all asylum seekers and refugees (clients) seeking advice and that they feel welcome and effectively supported
- To manage the advice team across the following areas:
- To assess clients’ needs and propose actions to address these needs (e.g. writing letters or emails and/or making telephone calls) in a professional manner
- To ensure that clients have access to advice about all aspects of living in the UK and to ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities under UK law
- To work to achieve agreed outcomes which will bring about positive changes in our clients’ lives
- To promote independence on the part of the clients and actively empower them to help themselves according to their individual abilities
- To direct clients to other services provided by Suffolk Refugee Support and / or external agencies (making appointments where appropriate)
- To respond to telephone requests for information from clients, statutory, voluntary, and private sector organisations and the general public
The Advice Service Manager will:
- Guide the advice service team on complex casework, where needed
- Building on the advice team’s expertise, and with the support of the HR and Training Officer, ensure that their team is up to date on the latest legislation and procedures that impact the asylum seekers and refugees we work with
- Be responsible for decision making and for ensuring that direct funding and grants to clients are in line with policy
Newly arrived asylum seeker support
- To keep abreast of numbers of new arrivals of asylum seekers into Suffolk
- To facilitate clothing donations to those in most need, ensuring that stocks are maintained
- To ensure that clients in asylum accommodation across Suffolk can access our services
- To develop and oversee positive activities for asylum seekers, such as sports and music groups (in liaison with SRS's Operations Manager)
Immigration support lead
- To develop good relationships with immigration legal services and solicitors to ensure that clients can access the information they require and that clients understand the processes they are going through
Vulnerable Client & Safeguarding Lead
- To be the support lead for very vulnerable clients or where there are cases with safeguarding concerns
Client representation
- To promote the views and experiences of SRS’s clients at external meetings and advisory boards, by participation in face to face and virtual meetings and in giving occasional presentations, using on-the-ground knowledge
Partnership working
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with external service providers and agencies, and to oversee joint working and services development
Monitoring, Evaluation and Donor Reporting
- To ensure services given and outcomes achieved are recorded on internal monitoring systems and that data protection regulations are adhered to
- To provide monthly summary reports for the Charity Manager and board of trustees
- To compile reports in reference to our funders’ outcomes and targets
- To help with the development & administration of written information produced by SRS for our clients’ benefit
- To contribute to development of new services and funding applications

About the Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

Programme Overview
The Refugee Employability Programme is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Starting in September 2023, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other community partners to ensure that individuals are fully supported with their journey back to employment and integration into UK society. The programme includes delivery of employability- focussed English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tuition for some of the defined cohorts.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
As Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the front-line support to customers on the Home Office Refugee Employability Programme, ensuring that they receive excellent service which is compliant with all Home Office requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Take responsibility for engaging with potential customers, explaining eligibility and bringing in referrals to the programme as part of a coordinated team approach.
· Be accountable for your caseload of assigned customers and working with them to address their learning, integration and employment needs in line with both contractual requirements and the individual’s needs. This will include:
o Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.
o Assessing the customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.
o Creating and following through with individual Personal Development Plans, ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each customer.
o Providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate, to develop customers’ capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.
· Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, so that you are able to source and refer customers to additional support when needed;
· Cultivate a welcoming environment and ensure a high level of engagement / re-engagement with customers;
· Work collaboratively as part of a small team to ensure excellent support for all customers;

Location and compensation

The Women’s Centre Cornwall (TWCC) has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.
PURPOSE
We are looking for an experienced Support Service Manager make the very best use of our resources and ensure the delivery of dynamic, flexible and innovative trauma-informed support services to women and girls who have experienced sexual and/or domestic abuse. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing the team of Coordinators and Team Leaders to provide innovative and creative approaches to delivering best outcomes for survivors, as well as supporting the team in their own individual and professional development. Responsible for the development of new services as well as embedding best practice across all projects, the role will oversee data collection across the services and contribute to the delivery of TWCC OCN accredited training to staff and volunteer as well as external/partner organisations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all women accessing TWCC Support Services receive a high quality, trauma informed service that meets their needs
- To work closely with the Finance Manager and Head of Services to manage multiple funding streams.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure equitable access to support services for individuals on the waiting list, while creatively managing and reducing waiting times to enhance overall service efficiency.
- Build and lead an effective and motivated team, promoting a culture of empowerment, continuous improvement and trauma-informed care
- Oversee effective management of the waiting list and find ways to manage effectively by improving existing systems and procedures
- Act as a Safeguarding Lead for the organisation, leading on Safeguarding compliance amongst the Support Services team, take safeguarding decision and support Team Leaders and Coordinators in safeguarding situations as well other members of the organisation
- Work within TWCC guidelines to ensure the trauma informed support services are safe, effective, responsive and ethical for all women accessing support services
- Support continued development of a positive data culture within the organisation, ensuring data collection is of a high standard across the projects and matches the requirements of funders and commissioners
- Completion of internal and external reports including narratives, case studies and data analysis
- Working closely with the CEO and Development Manager to identify and secure additional funding
- Leading service and intervention implementations and transformations, scaling up or down as required
- Working closely with Impact Manager to fully analyse the effectiveness of interventions for different cohorts of women and girls in line with our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB).
- To support the volunteering function of the organisation, its development and continued involvement in services
- To champion Lived Experience voices within the Specialist Support Service and ensure the continued development of comprehensive progression pathways for women and girls with lived experience.

Person Specification
We recognise that not every candidate will have all these skills and experiences but are looking for somebody who can show us that they meet a high number of them.
- At least 1 year experience of coordinating or managing projects.
- Experience of website management using a content management system.
- Applied experience of creating accessible digital products and platforms.
- Working knowledge of social media, online campaigns & community engagement, creating engaging and inclusive content.
- Experience of designing and delivering engaging and informative training, including online and blended trainings.
- Knowledge about health inequalities for people with learning disabilities, and the challenges this group of people face in accessing healthcare.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues with a learning disability and neurodiverse colleagues – understanding of reasonable adjustments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adjust communication style to different audiences, and provide accessible information.
- Experience of managing relationships with a range of external stakeholders.
- Experience of promoting a product or service and creating new business opportunities.
