Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.
We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Tees and Esk Group. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.
Time Commitment
We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.
You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the area the group to carry out this role.

Endometriosis UK is the largest UK charity for those with endometriosis. Endometriosis UK works to:
- Provide support to those with endometriosis and their families and friends
- Provide clear, objective information about the condition and its treatments

This is an unpaid role. Reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses will be paid.
Time commitment:

We are currently recruiting for ONE NEW TRUSTEE to join the board. We are particularly looking for significant experience of charity governance, management and best practice. Examples of how this might have been gained include having worked at a senior level in a charity, or previous trustee experience.

Jabalie is a UK registered charity that aims to educate and empower survivors and individuals at high-risk of gender-based violence to promote their safety, autonomy and economic independence. Role description
The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in making sure that Jabalie achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that Jabalie has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision.
As a small and newly registered charity, our Trustees have an active role in the organisation relating to their area of expertise, beyond the Board meetings.
General Trustee Duties
The duties of a Trustee include:
- Attending and contributing at quarterly Trustee Board meetings.
- Ensuring that Jabalie pursues its stated objectives (purposes) defined in its Constitution, including helping to develop a long-term strategy to achieve them.
- Ensuring that Jabalie complies with its governing rules laid out in its Constitution.
- Ensuring that Jabalie complies with charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Ensuring the financial stability of Jabalie.
Philanthropy and Development
In addition to the general duties of a Trustee, duties of the Philanthropy and Development Trustee include the following:
- Developing and overseeing fundraising strategy with action plans, ensuring they align with Jabalie’s strategic goals and financial needs.
- Cultivating relationships with donors, funders, and key stakeholders to secure financial support and long-term commitments.
- Identifying opportunities to collaborate with businesses, foundations, and institutions for sponsorships, grants, and major gifts.
- Managing and maintaining data and information on potential opportunities and relationships for generating funds in a systematic way, such as using a CRM system.
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Trustee in developing initiatives and campaigns for fundraising and generating donations.

Befriending Volunteer
You can make a difference…Age UK Wandsworth is a small, local, independent charity that has been working with older people in the area since 1963. We rely on your support to keep serving the older residents with in the Wamdsworth community. We have a dedicated team of experienced staff and a large network of dedicated local volunteers. Our aim is to enable everyone to age well in Wandsworth. We would love your help to be able to continue to support older Wandsworth residents.
Our Be-a-Friend service is one of our longest running services, matching people over 65, who live alone and have limited social contact, with a friendly local volunteer with similar hobbies and interests. The volunteer and their new friend set up a suitable time for them to meet each week for a chat and a cup of tea, which could be during the day, in the evening on the way home from work or even on the weekends . If you would prefer to volunteer from home, you can also be matched with an older person for telephone befriending. For many of our matched pairs, this is the beginning of a firm friendship.
Befriending Plus
Befriending Plus is an extended version of the Be-a-Friend programme, for individulas needing help with life admin and small tasks as well as companionship. For Befriending Plus pairs, time spent together can include helping to use a phone or tablet, helping the client to organise their file, going out for a coffee or popping to the post office together. This support can help older people to stay independent at home for longer, as well as increasing their confidence to do these tasks when the volunteer is not there.

- Take part in regular board meetings with a frequency of 6 to 8 meetings each year.
- Undertake work outside board meetings, eg preparation and reading.
- Participate in sub-committees, reflecting trustees’ policies or concerns or provide high level input to defined organisational projects from time to time.
- Interact, respond to and provide constructive challenge to our staff and other board members.
- Occasionally attend our launches and presentations of our work, alongside our staff at events and receptions.
- Occasionally represent Picker at meetings with potential funders or influencers.
- Contribute your skills, interests and contacts and support us in fulfilling our mission and in our influencing and developmental activities.
- Support, coach and help empower our staff to achieve their potential and deliver their goals.
- Take part in any training sessions provided.
- Fulfil any other duties and assignments as may be required from time to time by the Board.
- Act as an advocate for Picker in your activities in other settings.
Commitment
The full Board of Trustees meets every two months, usually in Oxford or remotely via video conference. There may be sub committees, with authority delegated to them by the Board, meeting at other intervals; and staff may seek to consult with you on your particular expertise. Occasionally, you may also be asked to represent Picker at meetings with potential funders or influencers, attend our report or product launches, or work alongside staff at events and receptions. We expect the typical commitment to be around one to two days per month.
Pay range and compensation package
This is an unpaid post, though reasonable expenses incurred through performance of duties will be reimbursed.
Qualifications
Applicants must be committed to the values and vision of Picker and committed to understanding and using people’s perspectives to improve health and social care. Demonstrable passion and commitment to person centred care for health and social care users, their carers and families, and staff is essential.
Required Skills
A background in one or more of the following areas is very desirable for these appointments:
- Communications – with experience of raising the profile of a similar sized charity or organisation to Picker.
- Business development – with expertise in identifying new opportunities to create long term impact.
- Finance experience – with a keen eye for numbers, although you do not necessarily need to be financially qualified.
- Health service – with experience as a user of health and care services, as a researcher in health and social care or as a health service practitioner or manager, whether in the NHS, the private sector, or internationally.
- Social care – with experience of working in or managing a social care provider or elsewhere in the sector.
Preferred Skills
Experience, knowledge, and skills:
- A commitment to the aims and strategic objectives of Picker and the ambitions of its growth strategy.
- A commitment to understanding and using the patient, client, service user, or consumer perspective in health and social care.
- Knowledge and experience of the governance and management principles of a charity registered in England or Scotland (desirable).
- The ability to work supportively with other Trustees, advisers, and executive colleagues to high ethical and professional standards and in line with their legal responsibilities.
- A proven strategic thinker with experience of operating at a senior management level.
- A skilled communicator who is experienced in persuading, influencing, and advising.
- A demonstrable interest in health and/or social care issues and social policy within the UK and/or overseas.
- A commitment to transformational change and learning, improvement and performance.

Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. What we need from you
This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example:
- face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins
- online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations
- marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press
- completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork
● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
Time expectation
This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Role overview
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work efficiently and independently to help us create an exciting and dynamic marketing strategy to improve and increase our social media channels to reach our stakeholders and relevant communities.
Main duties of the role
- Update social media, manage channels and grow YSS’s social media presence.
- Standardise branded materials for reports, presentations, bid submissions and other external communications.
- Assist in the development of the YSS website, ensuring it is up to date, dynamic, user friendly and factually correct.
- Adhere to company policies, particularly our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy, GDPR policy and Safeguarding policy.
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of marketing and social media channels
- Experience of using relevant design software
- Disciplined in home working
- Ideas and up to date thinking to reach target audience
- Able to travel to the office when needed (e.g., occasional meetings in Worcester)
