Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

About the role

Galop is looking for an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional to act as a specialist lead within the charity on monitoring, analysing and evaluating our internal services data for robust research and reporting. You will work with Galop’s services, including our Helplines, Advocacy & Support and Therapeutic Services and will report to the Director of Services.

As the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, you will work closely with the Services, Policy and Evidence, and Fundraising teams, as well as the Senior Leadership Team and the Data Protection Officer.

Location: This role is offered on either a National (remote) contract basis, or a London-based contract basis (which includes London weighting and the expectation of 2 days per week in Galop’s central London office).

Hours: This role can be offered on either a full-time (35 hours per week) basis, or potentially on a 3 or 4 day per week basis. We are open to flexibility in our approach, as we want to consider a wide range of applicants, including those who may have caring responsibilities, health limitations or other needs.

Salary: This role is offered on Band F of Galop’s pay scales.

The starting salary is F1 which equates to:

£27,774.92 per year FTE on a remote National contract.
£31,986.91 per year FTE including London Weighting of £4,212.01.

Staff collaborate with Recovery Workers and management to deliver a team-based approach, promote services, and support user engagement in peer-led activities and forums. They are responsible for maintaining accurate service user records, monitoring service upkeep, ensuring health and safety compliance, and working with multi-agency providers under governance protocols. Additionally, they contribute to developing service standards, follow policies and legislation, report maintenance issues, and undertake additional duties as required, always upholding health and safety rules and procedures.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The role requires demonstrable experience supporting people with mental health and complex needs, along with a strong understanding of recovery approaches and co-production. Staff should be able to design and deliver activities that reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support individuals in creating their own recovery journeys. This includes engaging service users in assessments, co-producing and reviewing support and safety plans, and maintaining accurate monitoring records for internal use and external reporting. A good knowledge of legislation, including welfare reform, the Care Act, and housing pathways, is essential, as well as the ability to handle financial transactions accurately and use IT systems, including MS Office and case management tools.

Flexibility and resilience are also key, with the need to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, while maintaining high service standards in unpredictable or challenging situations. The role requires excellent stakeholder relationship skills and the motivation to deliver consistent, high-quality support. An understanding of basic building safety issues and the ability to identify repairs is desirable. Overall, the position combines strong technical knowledge, administrative accuracy, and interpersonal skills to ensure effective support and recovery-focused care for service users.

• Develop a high-quality smoking cessation pilot programme
• Conduct needs assessments and analyse local smoking prevalence data to inform programme design.

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level in health, social care, public health, or significant professional experience in smoking cessation. 
• Proven experience working within local authorities, the NHS, or similar public health settings. 
• Completion of the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) certification. 
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of stop-smoking medications and their appropriate use.

The role

As a senior member of the Evidence Directorate, the Head of Programmes operationalises the organisation’s strategic priorities through effective programme design, commissioning, grant management, and delivery oversight. About the role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Leadership Giving Officer to cultivate and solicit gifts from alumni who have the capacity to make donations to the university of between £1,000 and £50,000.

You will be working in an exciting and varied role that blends marketing and fundraising skills as part of the Leadership Giving team within the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement department. We are a warm, collaborative, and enthusiastic team with a passion for innovative fundraising for meaningful impact.

The postholder will support fundraising for exciting and impactful initiatives across the university. The primary responsibility of the role is to manage two of the flagship Leadership Giving Programmes: the Kingsmaker Guild and Key to King’s. Additionally, they will also manage a portfolio of prospective and existing donors who they will connect with personally, engaging them with the university with the aim of soliciting new or uplifted donations.

Sitting within the KCL Philanthropy Team and working collaboratively with the other fundraisers in the university, the Leadership Giving Officer will manage the delivery of mass-fundraising appeals and stewardship, while also spending time in direct interaction with donors, both in and out of the office.

This role would be well suited to someone with marketing experience who is at the early stages of their fundraising career and keen to apply their skills in a hands-on environment. We are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Engagement Manager to implement and develop our programme on the Corporate Protein Transition in the UK (70%), as well as to support this work internationally (30%). This critical role will focus on accelerating the protein transition by advocating for more ambitious action from supermarkets, foodservice and government.

You will be responsible for cultivating relationships with civil society partners, food companies and policymakers, positioning ProVeg as a leading organisation and trusted partner on healthy, sustainable diets. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the UK’s corporate and civil society landscape around sustainable food systems, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of influencing decision-makers.

Responsibilities

UK (70%)

• In collaboration with ProVeg UK leadership, lead the implementation of the Corporate Protein Transition Programme in the UK, to increase retailer and foodservice companies’ ambitions regarding the protein transition. 
• Encourage companies to adopt protein split target-setting and promote best practices for increasing the share of plant-based sales.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NGOs, major food retailers, foodservice companies, government institutions, and policymakers.
• Monitor and analyse public opinion, consumer trends, and scientific developments related to plant-based diets to inform team strategies.
• Support the monitoring of national legislative developments related to sustainability and food systems; draft policy briefs and advocacy materials to influence decisions on the protein transition.
• Work closely with the UK Communications Manager to develop impactful strategic communication plans to drive public and stakeholder engagement.
• Support with representation of ProVeg at national B2B conferences, food systems roundtables, and other strategic events.
• Organise and facilitate stakeholder engagement initiatives, including roundtables and webinars.
• Identify relevant UK funding opportunities and support the development of funding proposals led by ProVeg International.
   

International (30%)

• Support the international team in rolling out foodservice strategy as part of the Corporate Protein Transition programme, in collaboration with country leads. 
• Support the alignment of a European civil society coalition around a single shared protein diversification ask of major food companies.
• Support the design, procurement, delivery and dissemination of influential research and reports that will support corporate protein diversification at European level. 
• Work closely with the International Senior Corporate Engagement Manager to support the implementation of the Corporate Protein Transition programme across ProVeg countries.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in corporate affairs, policy, or advocacy, ideally in the fields of food systems, public health, or sustainability.
• Experience in building relationships and driving change, for example with government agencies, supermarket executives, NGOs, or thought leaders.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong project management and organisational skills with an eye for detail.
